No, they made a few changes - costumes became a bit nicer and the makeup changed (some had rips or other small things that fans noted) slightly. But, BaiLu did tell people to calm down and that she was supposed to look simple.

It’s building on itself as they plot to take down enemies - brick by brick. Think of the pace in The Story of Minglan as an example.

They actually made changes to the makeup and costumes because of the complaints and the results ARE amazing.
