ONSET LIVE WRITING
This drama follows the "save the world" trope, which isn’t my type. The drug plot feels weak and dragged out, making it hard to stay invested.
The female lead’s mother has more focus than the lead herself, with too many slow-motion shots of her in fancy dresses that come off as cringe-worthy rather than empowering. It's hard to connect with her when she shows more empathy for a stranger who tried to harm her daughter than her own son. Her character, combined with the noticeable botox, makes it tough to take her seriously.
The chemistry between the male and female leads is lackluster. They feel more like an honest police officer and a lost child than a couple worth rooting for. The female lead’s childlike, goofy behavior doesn’t help, and the male lead adds very little to the plot, as even the writers seem to neglect him.
What stands out in this drama is the villain. His brief moments with the female lead are the most gripping parts of the show. It’s not just his striking looks; his performance stands out too. He’s ruthless with everyone else but a gentleman with the girl he likes. Unlike the other characters, his interactions with the female lead are genuine and compelling.
While the drama is poorly written overall, the villain’s character remains memorable and is the one redeeming factor of the series
