Yes, this too! Although things are getting better now in ways of Netflix and Prime etc but yeah, Japan also didn't help when it comes to broadcasting their shows to the global market unless it 's big productions such as Alice in Borderland or films like 13 Assassins, Battle Royale and the classics from the 20th century. Boy I know I have struggled in the past living in the west to get Japanese content subbed before I started learning Japanese. Now it is much better...but in terms of ratings on this site there seems to be always a lower rating average towards even the most critically acclaim and amazing Japanese productions in my opinion.

Not to say this is the reason but there is a particular bias against Japanese productions on this site despite Japan's lauded entertainment industry (the art, guys I'm not talking about the shady things that go on especially as it happens in every industry in the world lol) because they watched a few not so great shoujo dramas and then dismiss anything Jdramas/films and or there is a political bias.

I just can't seem to stop, finished seasons 1 and 2 less than a week and just allowed Prime to move me on to the next season (3). Yes formulaic and such but it is addictive. Plus Daimon Michiko - what a woman!

I am watching Taikan Yoho and I can't stop thinking this guy looks like Hasegawa Kyoko! They could play mother and son in a project (I had to look it up first to see if they were not related ha)!

I had been wanting to check out this for years but never got round to it. It is now on Prime and I have to say despite it's popularity I had low expectations. However I enjoyed it very much in fact in terms of Medical Japanese dramas that I have watched this has been far better than some of the ones I have watched already.

Completed Rikuoh and this man never disappoints - Legend!

It was okay. Not as bad as a lot of dramas I have seen, but not great. I am at the point of dropping things now but somehow despite the weak execution of the story it kept me hooked.

It seems now that she has backed out from the role.

I was just going to make a comment about the Main song. I am watching this for the first time in 2025(thanks to Netflix) and I love it - no wonder it was voted #2 in Top Fuji TV drama songs.

Fantastic actor~ i think i only watched him in a few things years ago including Battle Royale and Death Note lol but now I don't know what it is but watching AARO i can't stop thinking how charismatic and attractive he is...maybe its the stare and voice.

Oh yes! And I agree I love that it is slightly more darker than the anime.

I even realised I missed a key point of why Aqua needed Akane relationship in the anime that was much clearer for me in the LA. Maybe I was not really paying attention at the time and got the gist of it but when it came to the scene in the live action I went ' Oh yeah that is why he needed her.''

I agree! I enjoyed the anime but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I am liking this LA. Well my expectations were low to begin with.

Me too! I was reading about the series a few months ago and it seemed interesting but It was hard to find good quality version. Netflix has been going ham on uploading Japanese dramas...I ain't complaining

Lol the men were all despicable - I know it is the story but my gosh they were so off putting that I started feeling some type of way and I ended UP not actually enjoying it because of that HAHA . All actors did well though

I started for Yagira Yuya but stay for the plot acting and overall warmness among the dark aspects !! I was not expecting to get hooked on so quickly! Wonderful series!

I am watching an Antarctica for the first time and whilst rewatching Jin and could not help but think the OST of both shows sounded a lot a like and suspected it was the same composer- well turns out I was right. Beautiful music nonetheless.

I am glad I didn't pay attention to the rating of this drama. Regardless of the private life of one of the actresses I judge only the show and it is a fantastic series. An 8 at least. I am really impressed by the acting overall and ended up watching the real fight on YouTube and amazed how great they recreated it.
