I meant her roles she’s acted in. Not meant to be degrading. Not saying girly cutesy can’t be smart but the roles I’ve seen her in aren’t that way. I was curious to see if this role would have a contrast to her past roles. I’d love to see her in a girlboss personality type role (sounded like this in the description, haven’t scene the trailer yet) but she seems to be stuck in those kinda really girly and cutesy roles with the dramas that has recently aired. She is naturally girly and cute but it doesn’t mean she has to take on only roles of that type too. It can be a mixture and not solely capturing the main focus on the girly and cutesy personality. I’d like to see her portraying other character types. I like her as an actor and want to see more from her.

I can’t really visualize Yu Shu Xin as a smart phd grad, at least not a stereotypical type, sounds kinda different from her previous roles. She is always in that kinda really girly, really cutesy type roles in the past dramas I’ve seen her in. Excited to see this one.

I just finished this and I absolutely love their chemistry. From the comments, I am getting that this series looks like a cliff notes version of the original, can't wait to pick up the manhwa and novel when I have more free time.

Wishing for a third season to come soon. Absolutely love this. They need more episodes per season though. 3 episodes is totally not enough.

I want to keep watching but I am seriously confused. I am lucky to understand Chinese but the drama is still confusing to me. It's like a slice of life genre with no strong backbone. Interesting at times and confusing, the rest. I still don't understand what that internal general spy person is up to or is he just plain twisted because of his background? The FL is confusing to me, like what does she want? A lot of the other characters are all in between evil and good. It's hard to tell whether they are on the bad side or the good side. It seems like everybody is for themselves in this drama...which makes sense but still hard to grasp.

Is somebody who's watching this as confused as I am as to what is happening in the first 2 episodes? I am trying hard to understand it but I am leaning towards dropping it. Has anybody watched up to the 6th episode, who can tell me if this drama gets better and less confusing?

The drama would be a better watch though, if you watch one and only first. I personally appreciate all the intimacy they have here more because of it since I know what they had and didn't have or couldn't have in one and only. It supports it. But forever and ever can work as a stand alone.

I just watched the latest previews/teasers and I was like wow. It's pretty much like "how low can you go" at this point. Totally falling off the deep end, I'm slightly thinking "poor guy". Is forever and ever close to the book's storytelling? After this ends, I've decided I'm going to read it.

Does anybody know all of what the little variety shows are called that are attached to Call Me By Fire? I've watched the interview one and I've watched the one where they play games with younger boys in a classroom but I haven't found the outside game show one where they are all running around and I don't know what it's called and I haven't found it on Youtube yet.

I totally understand this part of it. It's just from a personal pov, it being fiction and all, I just can see that there were other solutions that could've happened to change things to make them even a tad better that wouldn't have compromised their beliefs and responsibility. Whether those solutions would make the story/characters itself better or worse, idk. I mean, this is their world. But anyways, I do love how they present the story in this drama. I just can't get over how sad it ended. Waiting for the sequel to create a better life for these characters.

Woah it gets worse?... ... I really wanted to read the novel after finishing this drama. I guess I will have to mentally prepare myself before reading it now. Do you know where I can read it? Can you share a link with me?

I just finished it...I knew that it was gonna be a sad ending because I saw a spoiler of part of the tragedy at the end with one of the mc's but omg I was not prepared for it to end like that. Why? Like...I like this cdrama and everything works and it's great and all but omg. I haven't watched a completely tragic ending to the main cp in a drama in a long while. The ending is just hitting too hard. At first, I was like, is it going to be like a romeo and juliet type of ending when I got to the last two episodes but no, nope...these two are just way too empathetic...like is it really worth it to go through all that, follow all those rules, and restrictions to just end up with that ending to your life's story? I mean there were other options for your lives and not even just talking about the romance, I mean their life in general. Shi Yi maybe not so many options for her since she was a girl and her high status comes with major restrictions in a historical setting but Zhou Sheng Chen, I mean he had options as a man, no matter if he had high status or was a regular civilian. Anyways, with his built up influence and connections and smarts and all the good things that were going for him, I mean I could see better options, other paths he could've chosen to achieve the same or similar goals or even if he wanted to pursue different goals than the ones in the story, he could have that would make his life easier. Ughh...I get why they made the choices that they made, everything is justifiable but ughhhh...

I loved the anime but this movie...why? I start liking the moment the characters are having and then boom, I get confused the next moment and want to start eye-rolling at my tv screen. There must have been a point to making it a musical. I mean if they were like parodies of anime/video game music, I would get it but it was actual "musical" music...my mind is like I'm loving the scene and then straight to wtf when the music comes on and start dancing...does anybody know why? Plzzz tell me...because I don't want to say they ruined Wotakoi...but they ruined it for me at least...

I finally watched the movie (without reading the reviews)...Was this movie like an emotional roller coaster for anybody else? I'm not talking about the movie but myself.

I love that this season is bringing in more couples and the chemistry is definitely there for them. I'm loving it.

I kinda want to see it because of Park Shin Hye. She never disappoints. But, is this more thriller or more horror? Is it like the I Am Legend movie?

I read the comments and was iffy on watching it. It's not great but not as bad as some of the comments suggest it to be. For me, I'm probably not gonna rewatch it much but it wasn't a terrible movie. The plot of the story was pretty decent to me. I don't see how it's an open ending as some of the comments say. They clearly have set their paths on the future they want for themselves...it's just that that future may not have each other in it or need each other in it. I see it as a pretty plausible end to a relationship that didn't work out. Looked like a realistic relationship story. Blander than the more dramatic movies but it seemed "real".

I just finished it...Season 2 better be as great as this first season or else I’m gonna want to kill somebody for this ending.
