Glad this series is doing well.As for the toxic Bl fans, you are not representing the gay community.Bl novels…
First of all: make it make sense.
2) Toxic this, toxic that. Y'all assuming everyone under this goddayum comment section is a white, straight, cis girl who likes to complain for no reason. Get over y'allselves 😂

i mean it still has bromance(like alot)... it's like chinese bl.. so i don't see any issue with it.
Except, China is on a whole different level of homophobia.
At least Korea has made steps forward.

why are some people acting like this drama was meant to bring about ground breaking change to Korea's laws and…
It definetely was supposed to 'bring ground breaking changes', because the plot revolves around the bullying a character recieves, for being gay.
Truth is that we all believed that Chanyoung could give more exposure to the community.
If a popular star like him was given that role, even if Korea is still closed, it would have given more exposure to same sex love.
Also, don't you think people might wanna see bigger productions taking a step forward and adapting queer novels into dramas? Not only 'bls'.
I know one single drama 'plot-erasing' can't change anything, but would it have changed anything for the positive, if they didn't cancel the identity of a charcater?
Not to speak on the whole queerbaiting 'kept in from a bl' scenes.
What koreans want is bromance, which is the real fetishism tbh. I've seen those edits on Tiktok already.

If only this was the only issue with the drama....Lee Kyung Young, who plays the chairman, is a convicted criminal…
Please have a look at the other comments where they tell you the plot.
The grown man is not in love with the boy. The other boy is. That is why everything escalates, in the novel ofc.

I think u missed the fact that real Yiheon had a crush on Sekyung, AND WAS BULLIED FOR IT. Not that weird thing u just commented, they also get to know eachother when Yiheon goes back to his body...then they date.

who said Korea is open 🤡.
I ain't said 'open' ..I said 'more open' 😂..which is something else.
More open means that they're slowly but steadily introducing queer romance gang.

Basically: producers that hired a well known sex offender and that dug out a gay random story for no reason, there are many stories similar to this one. They had no business choosing this specific one lol.

This is the website to the novel: https://salmonlatte.com/novel/i-a-gangster-became-a-high-school-student/
It's not completed yet, but I don't know where I found the whole story back then when I read it.

Maybe so, even if i highly doubt it !
We'll see how far they're going with their bromance plot tho!
It's giving very queer from these 2 episodes alone.

The novel is fun! The episodes really match the plotline, especially the bond between the characters, even if it misses the spot.
I think what they mean is that the production team unfortunately sucks, for their lack of judgement.
As much as this needs to be boycotted for rights-related reasons, we can't do much if the Knetizens don't do it mostly themselves.
The story is obviously good, but comes from a original gay piece of work. Sadly the author sold it to the weirdest producers.

Yeah i got u!
Tho they may not be harming the kbl 'new-born' industry, they are taking away a plot from a random gay story in a different fanbase.
All these people were celebrating months ago, that an important actor as Chanyoung was in it, and he could give some recognition to the minorities. It's unfortunately sad.
I wonder if they could still target their audience, while keeping the end the same. They chose to go and queerbait by giving us the bromance tension, which is making a fool out of us.
The actors are really good tho, and in the back of mind I do think they know what was going on between the characters before the story 'got changed'.

..And yes! I am very excited to see how far we'll go! More wins to come!

let me be clear.. is this a homosexual drama? i wanted to watch this, but i dont support lgbtq. so i wanna know…
That's kinda a weird way to put it, isn't it? Supposing ur a young watcher...
I'm just here to tell you, you can't read people's faces or dramas and determine if it's gay or not. Regardless of your supporting the community.
You might be 'supporting' your favourite artist or favourite drama..and it may or may not turn out they're part of the queer community.

Thai industry apart, which is known to have plotless dramas and problematic choosing of storylines to adapt. Korea was really making its way with the gay genre.
I think it's just sad to see money-thirsty producers, careless of the emotion part of the story, take on these 'delicate' projects just to shut the readers off.
Some people are problematic watchers, enjoyers, and readers.
But why make everything one-size-fits-all? I don't think all the people in this comment section want them actively sucking eachother necks on screen. That's not the story.
The emotion part is what at least...I want.
