ep 2 of yesterday bl series confused the hell out of me recently, now ep 2 of #hisman4 doing exactly same. Wdym…
In case you are still trying to make sense of it: They filmed S4 of His Man around Oct. Completely done, and ended with an end game couple as well. However, after filming was completed, something came out about one of the contestant that was too scandalous to keep that contestant in the show. Instead of digitally editing out the contestant, which might not even be possible, they decided to reshoot the entire season in Dec, which is what we are now watching. They offered all the previous contestants (except for the problematic one) the opportunity to come back for the reshoot. They agreed, which is 8 of the current cast. They brought in two new cast, HanGyeol and YunJae, and one returning cast from S2, MinSeong.
if they do the eliminations strategically and put their rival at the bottom so they don't have to compete, then…
He seems to be friends or at least friendly with the rest of the cast though, so I doubt he will be eliminated. I think it is more likely that one of the HyeokJin get eliminated, as they don't seem particularly close to the rest of the group.
MinSeong might be a possibility as well, as the only one who would give him high points would be HyeongJun. He doesn't seem close to anyone else, so I can see a lot of people ranking him near the back when they are are trying to save their crushes and friends
Yeah, only one episode, but the episode is almost double the length of the usual episode
I am not claiming it make sense to have Elimination in a dating show. Just that it make sense to end the week on the Elimination so the results of the Elimination can be done next week.
I still think hangyeol and taichi endgame will happen idk why but am sure of it so my fellow gyeol-ichi truthers…
You and I might be the only one left on the sinking ship. I am withholding judgement until we get some information that isn't from those interview segments
It's not clear yet if Feb 20 we will get ep8 only or 8&9. Schedule is a mess atm. We also don't know if the…
If you can't wait, you can always watch some of the previous seasons of His Man. I think the general consensus is S2 > S3 > S1, in terms of the popularity of each season, with S3 and S1 somewhat interchangeable.
When I started this episode, I can't believe it is almost double the size of the other episodes. I guess that is required so they can fit in everything.
The dates: What the... did everyone get a relaxing date to talk with your date while HanGyeol & Taichi are the only ones sent on an exercise date?!? They would have done better with the formats of any of the other dates. Also, it is weird that they showed the dates from the last episode only doing one activity, while all the dates in this episode had multiple activities. I'm glad YunJae got the lowdown on the previous shoot, but they should really tell MinSeong as well
YunJae & SuMin: YunJae need to be a lot more active. He gives up too easily, and since people are not mind readers, it just come off as him being disinterested. Same for Sumin actually, though I really like both of them. I am glad YunJae finally get to talk with HyunJun and HyunJun was open to going on a date with him, but he definitely doesn't seem as talkative as with SunWook. Maybe he just need to warm up to YunJae more first.
Jenga: None of the answers were that surprising, but it was nice for them to include the game for some group bonding. Interesting they showed the HanGyeol & Taichi flashback from the youtube Unreleased clip instead of the scene from Ep 1. I am glad HyunJun didn't give that breakup question to HyeongJun or JaeHa, that would have been super awkward. So surprised that both YunJae and MinSeong did not put their crush in their top 3, which is a weird move when you see some of the other cast being pretty aggressive in their advances. Be like SuMin, who is clear about his focus on SunWook. Kinda surprised they didn't get dares until almost the end though
Phone Call: Just realized, we are at the end of Day 3 and we only had the phone call session in the first night. MinSeong haven't even had a chance to call yet. Seems weird that one of the hallmark of the show basically sidelined.
HanGyeol & Taichi: Unlike most people here, I am going to withhold judgement about them until we get more information. So far, they been very positive about each other in the show, but very negative in the interview segments. We had HanGyeol saying he didn't like the mystery chat with Taichi while smiling and happy. Then we had HanGyeol saying the date was bad and Taichi may be an airhead, but later rate the date as 4/5. On Taichi's side, he say he is feeling unsure in the interview segment, but all his actual speech and action seem to indicate he is interested in HanGyeol still. So I think I will wait until we get more from either of them that isn't from an interview segment.
From the interview segment, it is clear that Taichi's answers from the last few episodes were all filmed together at a future date since it was all of him in the green outfit during daytime while most of the time the interview segment is about stuff that happened at night. It is harder to tell with HanGyeol since he is always wearing that grey hoodie
Why tease the elimination at the end of last week's episode and then not even show it this week. but make us wait…
Not surprised. As soon as they said there will only be a single episode released this week, I knew it would end on the Elimination so they can tease who got eliminated for the next week.
And I feel like Taichi isn’t really feeling it, unfortunately. Hopefully it will turn around.
I am pretty sure he knew it was HanGyeol. Who else would it be. Since the part about being curious about who was in his chat came from the interview segment, we have no idea what was the question that prompted that answer.
It's not clear yet if Feb 20 we will get ep8 only or 8&9. Schedule is a mess atm. We also don't know if the…
You can tell by the date on the diary entries that the filming started on Dec 4th, lasting a week. So they definitely finished filming, but the reshoot meant they had a lot less time to edit the show that started barely a month after filming ended. The original schedule is probably their best guess of the release while they were still editing.
Most of them said that they are from previous season i don't see anyone from previous season except min seong
What happened was that there was a previous shooting of S4, but after that concluded, something came out (scandal?) about one of the contestant. Due to the difficulty of editing out that contestant, the show decided to reshoot everything. They brought back 8 of the other contestants from that failed shoot, and added HanGyeol and YunJae as newbies. MinSeong is a returning contestant from S2, but he was not part of the original shoot of S4
How many contestants are there usually per season? 8? Then three are eliminated?
If you go by past seasons, there are usually a mid week catfish. So they would have to eliminate 4 in order to have enough room for the catfish to come in on Day 4.
Please tel me why...I don't understand why one them has to be expelled. Is there any reason? Something true that…
I don't think the issue is worth the cast, since the elimination was mentioned as soon as they entered the house. It is probably because the cast is just too large. They are currently at 11 ppl when previous seasons max out at 8. Not to mention usually, they would add in another contestant midweek. It can't be easy to get enough screentime to craft a storyline without leaving reducing some of the less successful contestants' screentime to zero
I agree that 1 week is too short, but I doubt they will change it even if they get another season. It been like…
yep. All 3 season of the Philippines' Sparks Camp was 1 week and Taiwan's Boys Like Boys was 6 days. Hong Kong's Boyscation is longer than a week, but that is only because it is more of an occasional gatherings than one where all of them live together.
There is no way yunjae will be eliminated? That wouldn’t make sense. If contestants are eliminating each other…
HanGyeol might be interested in LHJ and won't vote him off, but that doesn't stop the other contestants from voting him out. 3 eliminations seems a bit much though. But I guess if the show want to introduce some midweek catfishes, they need to shrink the cast a bit
It won't. There's most likely 14 episodes total but still don't expect too much.
Considering next week is just 1 episode, I think we might get 15 episodes, assuming the remaining weeks are 2 ep a week. Unless they do a 1 ep release for the finale.
I don’t really know about the disrespectful comments, but this whole reshooting thing is a complete mess. Adding…
I still think the reason we have elimination is so they can accommodate a catfish to come in on Day 4 (they are midway through Day 3 now). So you will probably get that one more new person you wanted.
MinSeong might be a possibility as well, as the only one who would give him high points would be HyeongJun. He doesn't seem close to anyone else, so I can see a lot of people ranking him near the back when they are are trying to save their crushes and friends
