I'm glad the drama give a conclusion for their misunderstanding about Fengbo Lake three years ago. It's heartbreaking…
Yeah, the thing is, it's not about how she looks or how she dresses. It's a detective drama afterall, and like you just mentioned, Xue Man grew up with men only. I stated before that she might be better to have character growth while watching the earlier episodes, in terms of personality and what not.
Since the episodes are limited, I guess the production had to minimize any unnecessary storylines and dive immediately into the main plot.

Exactly! You're on point! A 3-year time skip went by in a flash for us, but for them, every second was hell and disgrace. I wonder how Xue Man had to deal with all this during that long period of ordeal, losing two of her most precious people ON HER WEDDING DAY, no less! π₯Ί We also didn't take into account her mental state since the drama doesn't focus on psychological elements, but I'm sure she suffered mild PTSD too... AND, she was left all by herself after that incident...πΏ
Now I wanna slap myself for being a bit harsh on her character in the earlier episodes. I've misunderstood her.. π’π£ We must protect our baby Man-Man at all costs! X'(
ML of these revenge stories be hypocritical...how many low-level guards and messengers and by passers are dead…
To be honest, it's a sad outcome. Despite that, in my opinion, this was watchable compared to some other male centric wuxia dramas. Well, it's a revenge story afterall.. :'3
A great drama. I enjoyed it a lot. But Iβm confused about the ending. I feel that there might be a season 2β¦
I think in that scene, he saw himself (his past self, to be more precise) in that stranger who entered the city. Zang Hai was just like that person when he first set foot at the capital, full of anticipation, and a life mission to accomplish.

Now that I think of it, maybe that's the main reason behind Xue Man's resentfulness towards Bei Ming when they first reunited after 3 years. She vented all her anger on him for disappearing from her life without any explanation, only to reappear in front of her out of nowhere, as if nothing had happened between them. As if to say, "You heartless man, where have you been all along!? You left without a single explanation, and you only show up now. What exactly is your motive?"
Knowing our FL's personality, I think this is the only way she could react as she's overwhelmed by many different emotions all at once.

Being the person to be left behind is also one of the scariest things.. :'/ Xue Man has the right to be angry when Bei Ming initially planned on meeting Wu Lie on his own, leaving her behind again.

We're not seeing our bald man any time soon...
I might ask for that wig of his so that I can solve my hairfall problem.. haha! π€£
