"Lan Zhan " is his formal name which is only used by his closest same age people like Wei Ying. And his family…
Right. I always get confused with the "courtesy name" "formal name" thing. So if I were to address him, I would call him Hanguang jun or Lan Zhan. But I have to be a family member to call him Wangji?
The novel doesn't have that much scene of Wen Qing but they included so much scenes of her in this drama. I don't…
I haven't read the novel or anything but I have heard that there is an alternate straight washed version of this drama where WWX's love interest is Wen Qing. And correct me if am wrong but this straight Lan Zhan was also supposed to fall in love with Wen Qing?
After knowing this, i rewatched and I do find some remnants of it. WWX and WQ are usually together after they r outlawed so it's a natural pairing if the censors hadn't allowed the OG version. And then there r occasional scenes where Lan Zhan gazes at Wen Qing. I don't think they have ever shown any other scene where he gazes at secondary characters, especially women. So yeah.
I wish there was someone who could have addressed Lan Zhan as A-zhan or sth idk that would have been endearing. The way he is always called Wangji or Hanguang-jun by everyone. So distant
this is from novel: " Sacrificial ritual" was type of curse. The caster (MXY) was to harm themselves with a weapon,…
Thanks a ton for the info. I'm kinda thinking about reading the novel.
Now that u have mentioned it, LZ's personality definitely suits that of a wandering hero than that of a politician/sect leader role. Him being a younger son is a blessing since he is not responsible for producing heirs and all of that jazz. This is mostly my observation of LZ from Wang Yibo's rendition of him. I'm not sure about the OG LZ.
No wonder wangxian are a match made in heaven. They complement each other not just as a romantic couple but also as bros

Ok that makes sense. So the Wen clan just went power hungry in that generation I think? Coz of the yin iron?
It's actually great that LZ became the "mediator" based on his role in the final "war" in the drama. (probably why I couldn't find anything about it when I googled since it never happened in the source material)

Another question. Lan Zhan becomes "Your excellency" like that Wen mad guy and the Jin rapist guy (I just realised Lan Zhan's predecessors are really something lol). What does that position mean for Lan Zhan and his clan?
