As a spoiler here: The whole story about FL's adopted sister and the main villain's relationship didnt add anything to the story, imo it hurt the story. It wouldve been better to exclude this.
Ending the story with the pregnancy wouldve probably worked better if you wanted to end on a good note. The abduction of the kids felt rushed.
