I recommend you to read the manga, it's just splendid (+ it's 6 chapters long!). And the afterword from Furuya Usamaru is probably the best explanation one can get about the main idea behind suicide club.
This movie's totally fu*ked up :/ I watched it because I thought it'd be something like Crows Zero, but it's nothing…
"society should do something with this"
Okay. Why do you think they grew up to be "freaks" ?
There's no such thing as "society". Society is people. People are mean and imperfect. Who exactly is a troubled teenager in your opinion? Crows zero (and the like) takes the theme of school gangs too lightheartedly and I think that this has never been a pretty thing.
Sad movie, not a horror at all. The story is nothing new but nicely put through flashbacks and stuff. The dialogues feel very real, only the ending has a bit of that over-the-top horror atmosphere. Overall, 8/10. BTW: If you watch this, remember that homosexual relationships are a big deal in Korea, and this is from 1999!
"Neee, nee, what if I wake up and my face is gone?"
"Why do gods give us youth and beauty, when they take it away again?"
Probably the only "deep" things I remember. This film was >pretty<. Images and music fitted together. Everything went as planned, it was predictable. Nothing too shocking (people, this is not porn, lol). All in all, a nice round-up of "things happening".
Oh, yes, one more thing: Kozue was a good character. She was totally the 21st century kid: "I couldn't care less" attitude.
Let's see... 8/10 or 9 perhaps. Something's missing.

Currently - like an episode per day - I'm watching yamada tarou monogatari, and after I finish I'll probably switch to anime for some time. Scrap Teacher is quite boring, soo I'll probably just drop it.

Hey, I'm interested in your list of hates for k-dramas!
I've watched a few and I don't regret it but they didn't really move me. But they do have things that repeat all the time and that irks me (the ideal girl eats like a cow and stays skinny, everyone is pretty and even poor people have nice clothes and cell phones and love is everywhere, at every turn, there's love lurking...)

You like Takei Emi? Then I highly recommend Asuko March! It's a school themed, love and friendship drama, full of ikemen and I really liked it.
WHAT THE FUDGE?! THAT WAS THE SH*TTEST DORAMA ENDING EVER!!! I HAVE WASTED MY WHOLE DAY WATCHING THIS DORAMA THAT…
(Yes, that was for you.) That's good then (^o^) K-dramas have been on the rise recently, it's refreshing to see somebody who actually hates them. I guess it's just my thing not to think about endings too much...I often forget them. So...yeah. =D

OMG !!
Yeah, Taisetsu is a GEM !!! I don't understand why people don't watch it more. Plus, the last episode has the cutest possible combo ever - Miura and a baby. Oh, I'm melting all over again ^^
ah, and by the way, thanks for the friend request, I'm pleased to meet you =]

I suppose you prefer k-dramas? It's quite emblematic to have an open ending in Japan (be it dorama, books - Murakami Haruki anyone? - or films). Not everything is about what you would LIKE to see. Please just think about what I said... I'm still under the impression it would be weird to have a Hollywood-like happy ending.
Parade by Matchbox Twenty. I love how when a drama features foreign songs, people go search for it on youtube and the top coments are all like " xxx brought me here". LOL! Anyways for those of you who were searching for the song, enjoy ^^
Marathon completed!
Ah, I needed something intense as this. Although I feel a bit stupid for giving it 10/10...but..you know.. I totally fell for all the fanservice. The last time I saw that much cuddling in a drama was... well. And by the way, PEOPLE, what are you complaining about? What kind of ending have you anticipated? Do you realize that if Hikaru just ran to Mizuho "I love you, yay, let's be together forever, my sweetie pie!" it would be so out of his character that it would feel unbearably unreal. Sure, they could've just do some time-jumping, like in Sprout, which would, on the other hand, feel kitschy.
this drama has it all.
