@annie Because winner is king is more plot driven, it can be re-edited to a historical politics story. I just hope they don't cut out the bromance moments just so it can air sooner. From the leaked clips that I saw, the chemistry between the leads are really good so I rather wait a bit longer and get the full drama than seeing the censored version

very good visuals, great watch so far even though i think any bromance scenes are cut out in the first 10 eps. for example, at one point the two male leads were stuck in a cave. in one scene, one of the male lead's arm was bleeding. in the next scene, his arm magically was bandaged (in which i'm pretty sure the other male lead bandaged for him but it got cut out lol)

season 2 only have around 12 episodes so you can treat this as a very long drama with around 80 episodes. At the time it was out, I enjoyed watching it but it was really long so i kinda skipped through episodes. Lots of chemistry amongst the cast and the cast is good looking. If you like the xian xia drama, you will like this one

sorry i don't where you can read the book in english. I know they're currently airing the donghua/anime version of the story which hopefully follows the novel

There's a man that let chengyi's character live at his house when chengyi's character was poor. She's most likely that man's daughter. the women, while they are important, doesn't really pop up a lot in the novels apparently.
yea chengyi's character doesn't play a huge role until end of book 1. I'm glad that the author of the books are also working on this script or else there'll be too many big changes to the story

@Sanjiii123 apparently his character does learn how to fight and most of his fighting style was self taught (but i'm not completely sure). I think most likely he would have action scenes though
Shi Jia and Jian ci make such an awesome duo. I can watch them solves cases for 5 more seasons. they should lead in more dramas together
