I was really enjoying this until Episode 4, but Episode 5 has been hard to get through. I keep forcing myself to watch it, hoping the story gets better, but I'm starting to lose hope.
Guys, I just came across a mind blowing twist about the novel this drama is based on! I'm not sure if the show will actually follow this plot or not, but I just had to share it. If you're okay with spoilers, keep reading; if not, feel free to skip my comment.
So, the drama that Zhang Zhun and Zhen Xin are filming isn't fictional at all. it's actually based on a true story within their world! There are a real Fang Chi and Gao Zhun living in the exact same universe as Zhang Zhun and Zhen Xin. The book Deep in the Act was actually written by a friend of the real Fang Chi based on their actual lives, and then it got adapted into this drama. By the end of the story, both of the couples actually cross paths! Because of this, I'm thinking we might even get a new set of actors to play the "real" Fang Chi and Gao Zhun for the ending.
Isn't this the first time an official BL has been released in China? I might be wrong, but the site where I'm watching this series lists China as the country of origin. That's why I was wondering
