It's not about Chinese or Korean adaptations, it's about doing the source material justice. Payback could've been so much better, but they just had to ruin it. I was literally defending it from the haters, but looking back, I can see why they were disappointed. FIL is a much better adaptation to me, and I genuinely prefer it over both the manhua and novel.
the comparison is okay but you can't really see both the shows from the same lens and say the latter one is good
I'm not saying the two shows are identical, but they made Yoohan a twink in the series when he was never like that in the original manhwa. I have no problem with twinks, but I personally prefer a power bottom dynamic, and Yoohan was never like that in the original. FIL works better for me, it's really not that deep.

I also found out that the manhua and novel apparently don’t have that particular scene involving the guy who helped Itt steal the candies, so I’m wondering if the production is changing the storyline. I genuinely hope they are because Itt is fucking insufferable in the manhua, and I NEED them to remove that other scene, too.

I still believe it was SA. If someone kisses another person out of nowhere without their consent, there’s no excuse for it. Even if they don’t immediately resist, that doesn’t mean they wanted it,they could have frozen or simply been unable to react. Consent should always be asked for, especially before something as personal as that. And if this had happened IRL, the situation could have been much more serious.
