In this world, people have different opinions and point of views, so it's not so strange that there are people who hate open ending and happy ending. Take Mysterious Lotus Casebook for example, the ending was better off that way, but iQIYI just had to release an extra, but that extra was sadder.

Different point of view I guess. That's my take on this drama, you might have a different opinion, that's understandable. But In my opinion, this is the best slow burn romance I've watched in so long.

I still don't get why cdramas sometimes gives watchers what they refer to as an open ending? What? Do they think we'd appreciate such OE? Of course not. Such ending is not acceptable, at least for me. They did the same thing in Snowfall, even worse. I don't know why some directors do this.
Shouldn't they ask us what we want before giving us what they deem as a true work of art? I also think that they should have ended it where LSS was pursuing TTJ, that would have been a perfect ending. Even I would have given it a perfect score without hesitating.
