Exactly, the real PSE was given too much attention towards the end of the drama, they treated him as if he was the SML. In my opinion, SML and SFL story was not explored as it should.
It's a good watch for me, too, even if I'll rewatch, that'll be after a year, or maybe six months!
Even though the ending was kinda confusing, I didn't expect its rating to drop from 8.9 to 8.3, that's going overboard.

This was all good until the second princess came into the show. What's worse is the mistaken identity trope, it's getting tiring and annoying. I can't seem to feel any chemistry between FL and ML. Xu Qi An had more chemistry with Caiwei than he does with this dumb FL. I hope they focus more on XQ's journey to becoming a real warrior than the romance in this one cuz obviously, the second princess is not a good match for XW!

That reminds me, what's your favourite scenes in all those ten episodes? Mine is when the Hong Hee Joo asked the blackmailer to call Paik Sa Eon back when he said, "call me back once there's a corpse. "Wow, so she can speak!" I was very surprised with that scene, the way she raced off was quite a sight, I loved that scene. Plus, when Paik Sa Eon went inside the interview room to interview Hong Hee Joo personally, the way they looked at each other, their conversation, it's lovely. A massive applause👏👏 for Yoon Yeo Seok, Chae Soo Bin, the casts, screenwriter, the director, and all the crews for making the show a masterpiece! Honestly, I couldn't ask for more!
You're right, whether When the Phone Rings is going to air this week still is a mystery due to the air crash that happened in Seoul two days ago, it's sad and heartbreaking. The whole country is mourning the loss of their citizens who died in the air crash. I hope the sole of departed rest in peace!

Those haters are just too much, they should just give it a rest cuz this is already a successful drama. They keep writing destructive critisms in the hopes of sabotaging its success, well, I hate to break it to them, It's still trending on Netflix and among the top 5. You're right, Namib's rating is not improving, on the contrary, it's going down. I guess most of it comes down to the character of the FL and the SML's zero chemistry with every actress. Well, I didn't expect much from him though, so I won't be disappointed cuz I know he doesn't have the slightest chemistry with any of his costar. If he has time for "inferiority complex", then he should start thinking of ways to provide for the family. If FL's husband is not doing any of that, then he's an hypocrite. I know am might look bad for saying this, but I will. "I hope SML cheats and have as many flings as he can so their marriage can crumble cuz obviously, their married life with zero chemistry is a torture for watchers😡 I hope the relationship of FL and ML gets better, if not romantic, at least, I'd like to see a relationship of trust between those two!

I almost forgot about that part of the "inferiority complex". You're right, FL's husband in Namib could be one with an inferiority complex. For all we know, he might be displeased with the fact that the roles were reversed. He's the live in husband, while the FL who's wife provides for the family. I hate to say this but I will, the fact that FL is having problems with her husband kinda makes me happy. Personally, I want their misunderstanding to lead to a divorce! Why? It's because this drama is bound to be very boring should SML be given too much screentime with the FL. Most especially if they are romantic scenes, I don't think I can't stand such scenes. So, I think the screenwriter and the director made the right decision by not making it a lovey dovey marriage story. I really can't stand SML in romantic drama. I think I'll wait for the first half of Namib to air before giving it a try, Korean time slot of airing drama sucks. So I think it's better to wait for more episodes to air before watching. I'll give you a feedback once I've started!

Indeed, all those baseless critiques on When the Phone Rings's ML, Yoon Yeo Seok are clearly attempts of sabotage. They want to spread hate to low its ratings, or perhaps keep it from rising any further. It's a good thing their attempt to low the drama's rating didn't work, but it appears their scheme of keeping the rating from increasing is working. I don't know why some people are so hellbent on criticizing what's not. Now I'm not saying I don't criticize dramas that don't meet expectations, however, my critisms thus far has been fair. More importantly, they were unbiased, and undirected towards any actor. Critiques are acceptable, but sabotage is not. I'm looking forward to when you'll finally give this one a try, I can assure you it'll be worthwhile!

There are a lot of critisms, that's just to mention a few. I won't criticize her character cuz it might be due to pressure. Like you said, "her son is deaf", plus, she's the one providing for the family, so all these may have turned her into an ice. I'm not surprised she's having problems in her marriage, recall I said previously that the said SML has never had any chemistry with his past costars, and obviously, this one won't be any different. I think it's better they don't have a good relationship, that way, the drama won't be boring. Even if there's zero chance of romance between the FL and ML, I still don't want FL to have a romance of zero chemistry with the SML.

Oh? I think I'll have to read the comments in When the Phone Rings drama page to see the critics about the ML. " Yoon Yeo Seok has Wrinkles"? They've got to be kidding me, Yoo Yeon Seok looks like he's still in his early 30s, he doesn't like he's in his 40s one bit. I wonder where they dug up that ridiculous critique from. It's obvious the critiques are from trolls trying to sabotage the drama, cuz they can't stand the fact that its ratings is soaring. They are furious because it has surpassed, and is about to surpass many popular kdramas on MDL, so I guess that ignited their anger. It's surprising that people are still on that same topic till now, are they not tired of it? I thought all those ridiculous critiques were only directed at noona romance drama, I didn't know it has infected older man/younger man dramas, too. These people are unbelievable! Yoon Yeo Seok and Chae Soo Bin's chemistry is one of the most unique chemistry I've seen in my many years of watching kdramas. So, they should stop their destructive critisms!

I've been reading watchers comments since this drama's premise, but the comments doesn't seem that positive. Many are calling the FL a narcissist. Some say she's the worst. I haven't confirmed the said theory though. In my opinion, if she's a gray character, then that's fine by me. Gray characters are usually hard to understand, but as the drama progresses, you'll be able to resonate with them. I felt the same way about the FL in "Why Her?", but I eventually saw her struggles and her reason for turning into a cold person. I won't judge her until I see the show for myself. I've learned never to trust every comment on MDL. Some comments are misleading.

"Millennials wants to see more of older man/younger woman romance with great chemistry". That's fascinating! I never knew there are still people with such archaic mindsets. If they can stand a middle aged man paired with a younger partner, I wonder why the pairing of middle aged women with a younger men irks them so. I thought as the years goes by, this "prejudice" would stop, but it appears it's just my wishful thinking. Anyway, it is what it is. It's nice to see there are more and more people supporting noona romance drama compared to the past.

I can feel their rage just from the way they are bashing people with rude replies. They need to understand that not every drama of their idol can be successful. That's the nature of providence. Indeed, you're right. A romantic relationship between the idol and his mentor is highly unlikely cuz the FL is married with a child who's a teenager, I think. So, I am not holding onto the hope of this one having romance, nor even a slight one. It's obvious that it's a one in a million chance. I just hope they still have a great chemistry despite it all. Honestly, I don't know what's wrong with millennials these days, they seem to be more old fashioned than the old ones.

Couldn't agree more. It's Lee Do Hyun and Kim Ha Neul who carried the show, "18 again." The director made the right decision by giving Lee Do Hyun more screentime than the said ML. The chemistry was so nice to see. It's been so long since I've watched a noona romance drama like "Secret Affair." Now I'm beginning to doubt if such a drama would ever air again.

Give it a try, who knows? You might like what you see. I don't judge a drama solely based on the comment section, I try it first and determine whether its worth my time or not. I decided to try this one out and just as expected, the premiere was great. Now I'm not saying the ending will not be disappointing, but at the very least, I'd like to see the ending for myself before I ascertain if it's bad, worthwhile, or a masterpiece. Try it, you may never, you might enjoy it.

I decided to give this the benefit of the doubt despite all the negative and dismaying comments, I gave it a try regardless. And surprisedly, I'm enjoying it thus far. I really don't know if it's going to fall off towards the ending like some of the comments states, but I'm hopeful it won't. I'm really enjoying the chemistry of LXY and WJY!
