I almost forgot about that part of the "inferiority complex". You're right, FL's husband in Namib could be one with an inferiority complex. For all we know, he might be displeased with the fact that the roles were reversed. He's the live in husband, while the FL who's wife provides for the family. I hate to say this but I will, the fact that FL is having problems with her husband kinda makes me happy. Personally, I want their misunderstanding to lead to a divorce! Why? It's because this drama is bound to be very boring should SML be given too much screentime with the FL. Most especially if they are romantic scenes, I don't think I can't stand such scenes. So, I think the screenwriter and the director made the right decision by not making it a lovey dovey marriage story. I really can't stand SML in romantic drama. I think I'll wait for the first half of Namib to air before giving it a try, Korean time slot of airing drama sucks. So I think it's better to wait for more episodes to air before watching. I'll give you a feedback once I've started!

Indeed, all those baseless critiques on When the Phone Rings's ML, Yoon Yeo Seok are clearly attempts of sabotage. They want to spread hate to low its ratings, or perhaps keep it from rising any further. It's a good thing their attempt to low the drama's rating didn't work, but it appears their scheme of keeping the rating from increasing is working. I don't know why some people are so hellbent on criticizing what's not. Now I'm not saying I don't criticize dramas that don't meet expectations, however, my critisms thus far has been fair. More importantly, they were unbiased, and undirected towards any actor. Critiques are acceptable, but sabotage is not. I'm looking forward to when you'll finally give this one a try, I can assure you it'll be worthwhile!

There are a lot of critisms, that's just to mention a few. I won't criticize her character cuz it might be due to pressure. Like you said, "her son is deaf", plus, she's the one providing for the family, so all these may have turned her into an ice. I'm not surprised she's having problems in her marriage, recall I said previously that the said SML has never had any chemistry with his past costars, and obviously, this one won't be any different. I think it's better they don't have a good relationship, that way, the drama won't be boring. Even if there's zero chance of romance between the FL and ML, I still don't want FL to have a romance of zero chemistry with the SML.

Oh? I think I'll have to read the comments in When the Phone Rings drama page to see the critics about the ML. " Yoon Yeo Seok has Wrinkles"? They've got to be kidding me, Yoo Yeon Seok looks like he's still in his early 30s, he doesn't like he's in his 40s one bit. I wonder where they dug up that ridiculous critique from. It's obvious the critiques are from trolls trying to sabotage the drama, cuz they can't stand the fact that its ratings is soaring. They are furious because it has surpassed, and is about to surpass many popular kdramas on MDL, so I guess that ignited their anger. It's surprising that people are still on that same topic till now, are they not tired of it? I thought all those ridiculous critiques were only directed at noona romance drama, I didn't know it has infected older man/younger man dramas, too. These people are unbelievable! Yoon Yeo Seok and Chae Soo Bin's chemistry is one of the most unique chemistry I've seen in my many years of watching kdramas. So, they should stop their destructive critisms!

I've been reading watchers comments since this drama's premise, but the comments doesn't seem that positive. Many are calling the FL a narcissist. Some say she's the worst. I haven't confirmed the said theory though. In my opinion, if she's a gray character, then that's fine by me. Gray characters are usually hard to understand, but as the drama progresses, you'll be able to resonate with them. I felt the same way about the FL in "Why Her?", but I eventually saw her struggles and her reason for turning into a cold person. I won't judge her until I see the show for myself. I've learned never to trust every comment on MDL. Some comments are misleading.

"Millennials wants to see more of older man/younger woman romance with great chemistry". That's fascinating! I never knew there are still people with such archaic mindsets. If they can stand a middle aged man paired with a younger partner, I wonder why the pairing of middle aged women with a younger men irks them so. I thought as the years goes by, this "prejudice" would stop, but it appears it's just my wishful thinking. Anyway, it is what it is. It's nice to see there are more and more people supporting noona romance drama compared to the past.

I loved 18 again mainly because of the chemistry of Kim Ha Neul and Lee Do Hyun, not because of the said ML. I don't think I can ever with his dramas. I've never seen him have some kind of chemistry with his co star, not once. I can feel their rage just from the way they are bashing people with rude replies. They need to understand that not every drama of their idol can be successful. That's the nature of providence. Also, it's not just TSY who had a drama that's not so successful this year, many other actors did, too. So, they should stop complaining.

Indeed, you're right. A romantic relationship between the idol and his mentor is highly unlikely cuz the FL is married with a child who's a teenager, I think. So, I am not holding onto the hope of this one having romance, nor even a slight one. It's obvious that it's a one in a million chance. I just hope they still have a great chemistry despite it all. Honestly, I don't know what's wrong with millennials these days, they seem to be more old fashioned than the old ones.

Couldn't agree more. It's Lee Do Hyun and Kim Ha Neul who carried the show, "18 again." The director made the right decision by giving Lee Do Hyun more screentime than the said ML. The chemistry was so nice to see. It's been so long since I've watched a noona romance drama like "Secret Affair." Now I'm beginning to doubt if such a drama would ever air again.

Give it a try, who knows? You might like what you see. I don't judge a drama solely based on the comment section, I try it first and determine whether its worth my time or not. I decided to try this one out and just as expected, the premiere was great. Now I'm not saying the ending will not be disappointing, but at the very least, I'd like to see the ending for myself before I ascertain if it's bad, worthwhile, or a masterpiece. Try it, you may never, you might enjoy it.

I decided to give this the benefit of the doubt despite all the negative and dismaying comments, I gave it a try regardless. And surprisedly, I'm enjoying it thus far. You bet! I'd give this one 100/10 should it contain even the slightest bit of romance I wish for. But then again, I'd be satisfied even if it doesn't, just as long as FL doesn't treat ML as some money making machine, it's all good. However, I'm hoping beyond hope that my, that our hypothesis about this one turns into reality. It'd be so great to see a big age gap noona drama in so long.

Honestly, till now, I still can't figure out why many people are so against noona romance, most especially if it's the one with big age gap. What? Is it forbidden? Even during the ancient times, there were emperors who married older women. It's wasn't a crime then, so why should it become one now? In this era? Well, my opinion might deviate from others. Personally, I think there's nothing wrong should their relationship blossomed into romance. If a middle aged man can marry a lady in her 20s, and the world deems it okay, then there's nothing stopping a woman from finding her happiness. I'll be rooting for them should romance ever blossomed between the two, just as long as she breaks away from her marriage, and it's not an affair, then all is fine. "Whether it's in love or career, age should, must, and is not a limiting factor. Age is but a number used to make humans come to the reality that they are not who they used to be." But of course, others might not agree with me.

Indeed, Wonderful World was a Pandora box even though I hoped it had some romance, but it eventually didn't. Anyway, I'm here for the casts. More importantly, for the engaging storyline. I have no doubt that the acting is going to be top tier. I know it cuz I've seen the leads acting in quite a number of dramas.
