I am hoping beyond hope there's romance, even if it's a slight one!
I've been reading watchers comments since this drama's premise, but the comments doesn't seem that positive. Many are calling the FL a narcissist. Some say she's the worst. I haven't confirmed the said theory though. In my opinion, if she's a gray character, then that's fine by me. Gray characters are usually hard to understand, but as the drama progresses, you'll be able to resonate with them. I felt the same way about the FL in "Why Her?", but I eventually saw her struggles and her reason for turning into a cold person. I won't judge her until I see the show for myself. I've learned never to trust every comment on MDL. Some comments are misleading.
"Millennials wants to see more of older man/younger woman romance with great chemistry". That's fascinating! I never knew there are still people with such archaic mindsets. If they can stand a middle aged man paired with a younger partner, I wonder why the pairing of middle aged women with a younger men irks them so. I thought as the years goes by, this "prejudice" would stop, but it appears it's just my wishful thinking. Anyway, it is what it is. It's nice to see there are more and more people supporting noona romance drama compared to the past.
Indeed, When the Phone Rings is a captivating drama. Even I got captivated by the leads chemistry and the drama itself. I'd recommend you to try it out. Indeed, it's about time you try new genres. I don't know if you've noticed, but I've started watching Thai dramas. I started with GL series, and I must say, my first Thai GL series got me glued to my screen. I guess that's why there's this saying, "there's a whole world out there, as long as you are willing to explore it."
I loved 18 again mainly because of the chemistry of Kim Ha Neul and Lee Do Hyun, not because of the said ML. I don't think I can ever with his dramas. I've never seen him have some kind of chemistry with his co star, not once. That said, Merry Christmas, pal 🎄💖 I don't know whether you celebrate it or not, but I just wanted to wish my good friend a happy holiday season. I wish you, your family, and friends a happy holiday season❤️💖
Why are you going after me for voicing my opinion? You are so quick to blame anti fans for lower ratings but I…
Yes, she criticized TSY, but in her critism, I didn't see any impolite word. However, in your replies, there are infuriating words. Also, reviews and comment section are for every user. This is not a fan page, so don't expect everyone to praise a drama just because you loved it.
And another thing, for your information, I'm very neutral when it comes posting comments and rating dramas. I give ratings based on the contents. So, before you make accusations, get your facts straight.

I can feel their rage just from the way they are bashing people with rude replies. They need to understand that not every drama of their idol can be successful. That's the nature of providence. Also, it's not just TSY who had a drama that's not so successful this year, many other actors did, too. So, they should stop complaining.
I am hoping beyond hope there's romance, even if it's a slight one!
Indeed, you're right. A romantic relationship between the idol and his mentor is highly unlikely cuz the FL is married with a child who's a teenager, I think. So, I am not holding onto the hope of this one having romance, nor even a slight one. It's obvious that it's a one in a million chance. I just hope they still have a great chemistry despite it all. Honestly, I don't know what's wrong with millennials these days, they seem to be more old fashioned than the old ones.
Couldn't agree more. It's Lee Do Hyun and Kim Ha Neul who carried the show, "18 again." The director made the right decision by giving Lee Do Hyun more screentime than the said ML. The chemistry was so nice to see. It's been so long since I've watched a noona romance drama like "Secret Affair." Now I'm beginning to doubt if such a drama would ever air again.
Why are you going after me for voicing my opinion? You are so quick to blame anti fans for lower ratings but I…
I didn't know you kept tabs on everyone who criticizes TSY's drama. And Here you're calling me jobless, but am I the jobless one here? Just a small criticism about seven and you guys will turn toxic, what's the problem? What do you hate more? Is it the critism, or the truth in those harsh words? And what's really infuriating is the fact that most of you who starts fan wars have criticize more than anybody else!
Why are you going after me for voicing my opinion? You are so quick to blame anti fans for lower ratings but I…
You call her a TSY hater, then what does that make you? You're using all sorts of impolite words, words like, "psychopath" and so on, but in all her replies, I haven't seen her use any impolite words, but you kept using them. So, between you and her, which one is neutral and which one is not? It's because of you all, toxic fans that makes TSY get more hates. Grow up and stop calling people out to insult them just because they don't like what you like. It's a free world, different people with different tastes, so I believe the likes and dislikes of someone shouldn't be anyone's problem.
I’m gonna start watching it. is it really that bad? better or worse than “In Blossom”?My expectations for…
Give it a try, who knows? You might like what you see. I don't judge a drama solely based on the comment section, I try it first and determine whether its worth my time or not. I decided to try this one out and just as expected, the premiere was great. Now I'm not saying the ending will not be disappointing, but at the very least, I'd like to see the ending for myself before I ascertain if it's bad, worthwhile, or a masterpiece. Try it, you may never, you might enjoy it.
I decided to give this the benefit of the doubt despite all the negative and dismaying comments, I gave it a try regardless. And surprisedly, I'm enjoying it thus far. I really don't know if it's going to fall off towards the ending like some of the comments states, but I'm hopeful it won't. I'm really enjoying the chemistry of LXY and WJY!
I am hoping beyond hope there's romance, even if it's a slight one!
You bet! I'd give this one 100/10 should it contain even the slightest bit of romance I wish for. But then again, I'd be satisfied even if it doesn't, just as long as FL doesn't treat ML as some money making machine, it's all good. However, I'm hoping beyond hope that my, that our hypothesis about this one turns into reality. It'd be so great to see a big age gap noona drama in so long.
Honestly, till now, I still can't figure out why many people are so against noona romance, most especially if it's the one with big age gap. What? Is it forbidden? Even during the ancient times, there were emperors who married older women. It's wasn't a crime then, so why should it become one now? In this era? I can't believe people are still with that discriminating mindset!
You're definitely not the only one who thinks the SML doesn't have chemistry with any of the actresses he's been paired with thus far, I agree with you on that. I would have dropped 18 again if it wasn't for Lee Do Hyun and Kim Ha Neul's amazing chemistry. I just hope he's not too bad in this one!

Well, my opinion might deviate from others. Personally, I think there's nothing wrong should their relationship blossomed into romance. If a middle aged man can marry a lady in her 20s, and the world deems it okay, then there's nothing stopping a woman from finding her happiness. I'll be rooting for them should romance ever blossomed between the two, just as long as she breaks away from her marriage, and it's not an affair, then all is fine. "Whether it's in love or career, age should, must, and is not a limiting factor. Age is but a number used to make humans come to the reality that they are not who they used to be." But of course, others might not agree with me.
Indeed, I've watched the FL and ML in quite a number of dramas, and they were really great, they slayed their respective roles. Really looking forward to this one!
It wasn't necessary for YZJ to die. I don't know if they think Duanwu needed to be alone to support this woman…
Some directors never learn. But then again, they're doing great, but I just wish they'd put us into consideration before concluding a drama with an unnecessary heartbreaking ending.
I am hoping beyond hope there's romance, even if it's a slight one!
You bet, I love noona romance dramas. Most especially, when the plot and storyline is beautifully executed, it makes my day.
Indeed, Wonderful World was a Pandora box even though I hoped it had some romance, but it eventually didn't. Anyway, I'm here for the casts. More importantly, for the engaging storyline. I have no doubt that the acting is going to be top tier. I know it cuz I've seen the leads acting in quite a number of dramas.
I'm still holding on to that hope of this one having a miraculous romance blossoming out of nowhere!! I almost forgot, happy new month, pal❤️

"Theme of FL empowerment"? I don't think so. I'd bet it's because they think people tend to remember dramas with heartbreaking endings more than the ones with happy endings.
I wish you a happy time with your family and friends doing this holiday season!!!!!
