First of all the way people started hating this drama and acting, I almost gave up not to watch but in Instagram…
I agree, there are some renowned actresses that, in my opinion, never have great chemistry with MLs, but Jisoo has great chemistry with 4 male characters! That's difficult to pull off if you are not a good actresss.
I’m not a fan of Blackpink, but I think Jisoo is a good actress. In Snowdrop she felt very natural, especially in the crying scenes — it didn’t feel like acting, more like watching a real person in a difficult situation. She feels similarly natural here, and the proof is the great chemistry she has with the four male characters, which is hard to achieve even for experienced actors. It really makes us believe her character could have feelings for all four of them.
how food oriented is this series? i was curious with the title but so many food series kinda forget about that…
Since I really enjoy cooking shows, I found episodes 1 and 4 especially fun to watch. The cooking part is really entertaining — honestly, even more so than in Mr. Queen.
Yoona is doing a great job — her energy and humor give the drama its character. The ML is one of the best kings I’ve seen in dramas: authoritative, with a touch of madness and unpredictability.
You know a drama is good when you’re eagerly waiting for the next weekend. Unfortunately, there haven’t been many like that this year. But it’s great that this one came along.
hot take (I HAVE NOT WATCHED PAST EP 8 YET): I don't like how Yi-do responded to that situation. i feel like even…
I agree. She even said it herself — she chooses the guy who likes her, not the guy she likes. Their interactions were boring. She mostly reacted to what JM was saying with things like 'Aah', 'Ooh', and so on. JM was into her at first, but I think that after talking to JY and feeling comfortable with her, he realized that's what was missing in his interactions with YD.
I don't like that the mentors keep laughing at the contestants. Watching this, I can understand where bullying in Korea comes from and why the suicide rate is so high. Maybe this kind of mockery is considered entertaining, but for sensitive and self-aware contestants who will watch it later, it can be genuinely hurtful.
One moment that really struck me was when, after San Ho’s failed hit, one of the mentors commented that he was surprised the other contestants weren’t laughing at him — saying they must be really nice and that they should be laughing at him. Unless it was a mistranslation, it didn’t sound good at all...
Don't get me wrong — I like the panel members. But their reactions show just how deeply rooted bullying is in Korean culture, to the point where they don’t even realize they’re contributing to it or provoking it.
In my opinion, there shouldn’t be a panel at all. Several contestants expressed concern about being judged — and that’s exactly what’s happening. Every move they make is being commented on and evaluated by the panel. That’s definitely not going to help them build confidence.
And the fact that one of the contestants is clearly on the autism spectrum — and the panel seems unaware of it, expecting him to behave like a neurotypical person — shows just how poor the awareness of neurodivergent conditions still is in Korea.
I was shipping Yido and Jeongmok since day 1 and I loooove where this is going!! I think the director is just…
I think he is into her but it's not like that for her. She is trying to be into him. She said it herself, that she decided to focus not on the person she likes but on the person who likes her.
