I guess we’ll have to wait and see which way they decided to go for the drama!!

With only two episodes left, I feel like they are just dragging a$$ with the who BCF and WXS. I would have lopped off BCF head on sight. There is way too much talking going on at this point. Episodes 35-36 were complete let downs as I knew they would be. Now, in the last two episodes they are going to speed run through the loose ends to tie the drama up in what they perceive as a neat little bow. This was one drama I could have done without. The romance scenes were nonexistent, the fight scenes ( the good ones anyway) were few and far between. The character development was amateurly written and greatly disappointed.
The scene with BCF and SMZ…WTF was that? If him and LC were going to or have run away together why even pretend like he may die. I get it, terminal illness played a major role in BCF underestimating him and thinking he could kill him, but come on man! The last part of their scene where he jumps over the chair and disappears….really? Really? That was the best that could be done? I am sad and I hope, once again, that this is not the indicative of what we can expect from the wuxia drama’s coming out this summer.

Thank you for your response. I guess it makes more sense to me now, but that trope is in almost every modern drama. Parents wanting their kids to get married and being nosy and pushy, controlling and overbearing. It’s quite an overused theme and I’m so over it. I hope this is not an art represents life type scenario because if it is it’s really sad.
I agree, ML is gonna have his work cut out for him and the drama has a long way to go.
I already see the jealous co-worker trope. The psychotic ex that won’t let go trope….the we need to break up because of what people think trope is coming. Big sigh! Unfortunately there isn’t much in the way of good dramas out currently. So what do you do? You suffer through a few bad ones until the ones you really want to watch finally aire.

OMG!!! I was screaming at the screen watching ep 34. OMG! Ok, first. I’m glad DFJ mostly got revenge for LC. FYK talks too much. I wish WXS had just slit his throat. Too much talking about nothing! Just showed how pitiful he really was. Too much similarity with BCF. Glad that’s over.
WXS is a martial arts prodigy as well, that’s why he had to go up against 13 Doom. Glad he’s gone too. Everybody was killing for dumb reasons. How you gone be mad at somebody because somebody else sacrificed themselves for them. If LC had known her father sacrificed himself for her, and trusted MSZ she may not have ended up where she is.
Finally a lot of truth is coming out. I wish DFJ had told WXS that his brothers were at home beefing, but then I know this part of the story would not have been resolved. I can’t wait until he goes home. Finally this cursed drama is almost over.

Ok, I’m not sure I get it. Is it normal for people in their 30’s to still live at home in asian culture? Just curious and even if that is the case….she is 30+ years old! It is unreasonable for her father to want her home by 10:30 pm. That is just way too controlling in my opinion and the mom is not trying hard enough to break her daughter from that control. It seems like they want to pass her off to LZL who is also very controlling. I’ve never seen the drama this was adapted from so I don’t know the outcome, but I really hope she stands her ground against her fathers control and the ex’s control. GX is good to her and for her, even if they don’t become a couple.
Yet, that is another concern of mine. I find it very uncomfortable that they are step siblings. Though not related by blood, I feel like this is just the plot of some soft p@rn video. I would feel very uncomfortable if someone that has called me sister most of our lives and we grew up together, suddenly tells me they like me….and actively pursues me.
Oh! And I wish QYR would quit being so abrasive. There is always one in these types of dramas. Like the FL needs this harda$$ bf to rescue her all the time. I can’t wait until CY breaks down that wall she has up and she softens up. And it’s funny to see two different ends of the spectrum. YK and GX, the older woman younger man trope juxtaposed against YR and CY, the older man younger woman trope.
Can’t wait to see what happens, but it’s obvious which tropes will take center stage to drag this drama out to 30 episodes. I just hope it’s done better than most of the dramas this year. 2022 has been very disappointing in the drama department for me. The trailers hype them up only for the audience to be let down with bad writing or bad acting. We shall see.

I didn’t know he was only 20 until I read your post. He most definitely nails this character. I would have placed him in his late 20’s because his portrayal of GX is so good.

It’s never too late to drop!!! 🤣🤣 I don’t know how much more I can take. I have the sinking feeling it’s only going to get worse from here. They had me in the beginning. They lured me in and then left me hanging.
I agree LCF is much more complex but LYN is not playing him very well. It seems forced. At least in TLB he wasn’t a psychopath. The director and the writer of this drama needs to go back to the drawing board and try again. This drama has been a real let down for me. 😢

Can I just say that at this point I prefer watching WXS and WR over the foolishness going on with BCF and LC. That is a whole hot mess. I put off watching this train wreck for a couple of hours and I wish I would have just skipped it all together. I am soooo on the verge of dropping this drama. The writing is straight trash and if I’m being honest LYN’s performance in The Long Ballad was better than it is in this drama. I soo can’t stand him right now.
First of all, this is what LC gets. She knows dang well SMZ did not intentionally kill her father. He loved her too much for that. She is being irrational and now she is where she is. Boo hoo! I have no sympathy for her.

I can’t wait for WXS to come back so BCF can see how stupid he was and I hope BCF dies by WXS’ sword. IJS. At this point everyone can die. The story is just asinine.

Now that would have made this episode epic! I would have been so for it!

Already loving this drama. The ML and FL are adorable and the other four seasons are super cute as well. So many things to anticipate. I’m hooked! Let’s go!

The drama is only 16 episodes, they can’t drag it out for too long. If it was 24 or 32 episodes, I could see a slow burn, but we don’t have time for that. Plus, once again, it’s part of OSJ’s character development. I’m not mad about it at all.

I think she just meant if OSJ was younger than GC. Idk why an older woman dating a younger man is still so taboo, but these old men looking like life sized testicles can date women more than half their age. IJS

That is definitely the case. I mean the story line is good. I can’t wait til the families realize they are related. I enjoy watching the two older brothers date even if their FL are crappy. But most definitely could have been written better.

She does dress very homely, but look who she was raised by. They can’t dress either. IJS

We’re not even halfway through, so much can happen. This may be the turning point for NYN and LSJ, but she’ll feel better once she comes clean. I know guilt had to have been eating her up, especially how fast his family accepted her.
I had sooo much to say about this drama. I have a love/ hate relationship with it. The brothers are all adorable. I think they could have picked better for their FL, that’s just me. MiRae is annoying. HJ is annoying and YN…I don’t really have an opinion on her.
MiRae’s family is annoying, especially her gm. I FF through all of her parts. Her brother is creepy. Her mother needs to stand up for herself and tell her MIL to sit down and shut up. Especially when her mother is in a nursing home, sick, and all you can think about is yourself. Her husband needs a backbone too. People pleasers can be so annoying at times, especially when it’s a man. Be a d@mn man! Tell your mother to be quiet sometimes and take your wife’s side. Stop trying to pacify everyone because it’s only making it worse.
The brothers family is a hot mess. Their fathers aunt is too old to be so immature and whiny. Their cousins old and young are annoying. It feels like they are just there taking advantage of them. I know they are there for the adoption part of the story, but we aren’t even halfway through the drama yet. I may have to sit this one out until all the episodes are released. It’s annoying to wait all week just to be annoyed and have to wait a whole week to be annoyed again. Just annoy me all at once, lol.

OOOOh baby!!! Episode 6 had me on the edge of my seat. Shyt is getting real! OSJ is definitely a badass, but she has no common sense. Who is going to a remote location to meet up with a known murderer/ hired hand? Who does that? I would have snatched GC like, come with me I’m not going by myself. Now he has to try and find your dumb self, thinking the worst. He said when he signed that contract that he was worried about her, that was definitely some foreshadowing. He knows she’s playing with some heavy hitters and he’s doing everything in his power to help her because he doesn’t want the same thing to happen to her that happened to his step sister and how dare his best friend ask him to give up. If I had the opportunity to take down the men that killed my sibling and framed me, I would definitely do so and he has the baddest lawyer he could ever hope for on their trail. Would most definitely give her my life to take them down. She was the only one that believed in him and the best option to take them down. Win-Win

The professor is looking even more suspect. He started her down this twisted path she’s on. I wonder if she’s gonna get revenge on him too.

I wish that JY was OSJ’s daughter. It’s easier to live with the fact that they were stolen than still born. At least she would still be alive. IJS

CYS made me mad telling her not to date GC. While yes GC has a secret, at least his father didn’t lie to her and betray her.
OH many! I can’t wait until next week for ep7. That’s too long!

Aaahhh! Ep 25-26, I can’t!!! It’s really bad when you see the tropes coming. I’m not ready. It’s been super sweet so far. I don’t want to see anything bad happen to our MC but we know it has to happen. There are only 14 ep left. We have to get to the major conflict that they will drag over a couple of episodes to lead us to the resolution and hopefully a happy ending for ZPE, GQF, SSN, and DCF. I even hope something transpires between ZhaoDi and CL. Don’t really care what happens to SYZ, hate to say it. Her and her creepy fiance’ can disappear from the drama at this point. She really had no point in the drama except to be the annoying, self absorbed, air head, little sister that has run off not once but twice because she’s immature. My heart hurts just thinking about what is about to happen.

So far, I am loving this drama. I love ZPE and GQF together. They have the sweetest love I have seen in a long time. I just hate that they have or will have so many obstacles because of how men viewed women back then. Funny how not much has changed in hundreds of years. Women still have to fight for their place in the world and hide from their past. I truly hope GQF is true to his word and marries ZPE and doesn’t break her heart. And silly little SYZ needs to sit down somewhere. She is the typical youth that doesn’t listen to the wisdom of elders and thinks they know everything until it’s too late. I hate that she has developed feelings for GQF, that is going to hurt her worse than her first marriage. However, she should not have fantasized and romanticized a relationship with him. Just like SSN and ZPE told her, it’s not good to depend on men to take care of you. Most men (in drama land) are opportunistic pigs and will use whatever they can as leverage over women to get what they want. SYZ, she is still young and stupid and didn’t learn from her ex-husband. Still believing that she needs a man to release her from the bondage and taboo of being a musician of pariah status. I can see that betrayal {ZPE and GQF getting married) and the fact that she has gotten quite the big head leading her down some even darker paths later on. Possibly with OYX. I hope SSN reunites with her son and finds real love, even if it’s with DCF. I also hope they don’t rush the ending. It’s been a theme with dramas lately. Drag out the boring parts and rush through the more interesting parts. Fingers crossed.

I had to come and throw my 2¢ in the ring. I’ve read through a lot of the comments and it’s really sad. I know I always have to remind myself that these are fictional stories, but some of them hit closer to home than others. GC is a boss for sticking up for and sticking to OSJ. Many have called him childish and annoying, but I think his character is necessary for OSJ’s character development and for her character in general. She was done dog dirty and has been fighting alone in the corporate world. Now she has someone that will fight with her and for her at all costs.
This is no different than the dramas where the ML are seen as hard to work for tyrants that have complicated and sometimes heartbreaking back stories, but end up falling for the cute, sweet, innocent girl that is always by his side. She helps him heal from his past, solve some major catastrophe at work, and essentially become a better person.
I think their chemistry is amazing. SHJ is a rockstar, she is playing the shyt out of OSJ (doing an amazing job) and HIY is a cutie pie. His depiction of GC hits all the feels for me and they look good together.
I could go on a whole tirade about this storyline and the characters but that’s a touchy subject for me, so I’ll leave it at this. Can’t wait for this story to completely unfold. I just hope there are no plot twists that change my opinion of this drama, because so far I’m fully invested. I’m rooting for GC and OSJ as a couple and that they both get what they desire most.
