I had hoped so too.. After the quarrel between li xiong and qi pa, I thought she would rely more on kui mulang after her marriage and give him a chance.
As I said, I don't know what the writers are thinking at this point... If I was the writer of this drama and I wanted qi pa to fall in love with li xiong first then I would have made that happen in the beginning of the drama and then separated them to make her fall in love with kui mulang... But the writers made qi pa marry kui mulang first and then have emotional tenderness towards li xiong which is creating a moral dilemma... Even though we know li xiong is a persona of kui mulang, and legal husband of qi pa but because qi pa is not aware of this fact.. Her relationship with li xiong is in grey area.
But let's keep our fingers?, maybe the writers have better idea to resolve this triangle for two by not making any character look bad.
This triangle for two is similar to clark - lois- superman triangle.
In near future, qi pa has to know both are one person and accept both sides of him no matter whom she chooses now.
This is a roller coaster ride, last episode I was high on emotions, feeling there is a chance between kui mulang and qi pa after their marriage and conversation.. Now we are back to square one... Qi pa rejecting kui mulang and playing tricks on him.
I don't know what the screen writer is thinking... Kui mulang and qi pa's relations could have been salvaged during last few episodes but that has been squandered.
The way things are going, all the characters are going to be hurt and feel betrayed... Emotional torture is the middle name of most costume chinese dramas.
I genuinely want qi pa to fall in love with kui mulang but from the trailers and today's episode it seems writers have different direction in their mind.
My sympathy goes to kui mulang because, he is judged on his looks but the character of li xiong is equally pitiable.
Episode 14- when li xiong was escorting qi pa back from kui mulang's chamber after the wedding night, everyone was greeting qi pa as 'her highness' and bestowing blessing of happy marriage, li xiong looked so happy because he IS HER HUSBAND.
Episode 16- kui mulang can openly take qi pa on a date and everyone gushes over how much he loves the queen... On the other hand during the shopping spree in the episode, li xiong helped qi pa put in her hair pin as a doting husband and everyone looked at him as if he had stepped out of his place as a guard ( i believe there is a special significance of putting the hair pin in a woman's hair by a man in chinese tradition). He looked crestfallen when qi pa tried to give the same hair pin he had put in her hair to hu die.
Both kui mulang and li xiong are in a pitiable place due to 'his own' lies and inability to tell qi pa the truth.
We are heading for a train wreck, even though trailers and spoilers for next episode show some sweet moments. Hope we dont crash and burn.
I really hope the writers have a plan to salvage this some how. Bracing myself for future heart ache.
PS: I wonder what was the significance of pearl inside qi pa getting illuminated when she was sucking poison from li xiong's hand.. It didn't happen during her previous physical contact with him.
Can I be a little shallow and just appreciate how gorgeous both qi pa and kui mulang looked in their wedding attire.
Loved the iconic scene from the trailer, kui mulang's grab - twirl- pull qi pa towards him. 💕
Kui Mulang is a perfect gentleman, Qi pa realises this and acknowledges it.
Qi pa is more like an ancient "Nancy Drew" she loves solving cases, she becomes effervescent and animated... The way to her heart is allowing her to exhibit her capabilities. Glad that kui mulang nurtures and encourages qi pa in that area. Also appreciated, how kui mulang took qi pa's criticism of their employees being illiterate to heart and he resolves to provide them with better education. (A man who really listens to his wife's opinion is a man worth having)
Lastly, kui mulang's insistence of spending some quality time with qi pa everyday is a step in the right direction for a healthy marital life.

But I dont think she has any romantic feeling for li xiong also till now..... When they were discussing in the cave that she wants an ideal husband, she was shivering and li xiong extented his arm so that she could lean on but she did not accept that offer immediately, I think she passed out due to fever and so leaned on him...
Second, when she wanted to make kui mulang jealous and saw li xiong as a potential boyfriend, she was clinically assessing his attributes... I couldn't see any attraction on her part.. In fact after the dance when she fake kissed him, he was disappointed that she was using him but her attention was on other people's reaction.
The only hint of attraction that I saw from her towards li xiong was in yesterday's episode when she couldn't stop thinking about him after their quarrel.
So, I think that she was not ready for any romantic entanglement with anyone..
But, I hope in future she falls for kui mulang first or atleast knows that both are the same person.

I feel that somehow due to her mother's background(of time travelling to ancient world from modern world), qi pa has become a little cynical and jaded like most modern women. These days mothers often tell their daughters to be independent, career minded and not depend upon a man for their happiness.
Two instances I felt this cynicism of qi pa towards love. 1.ep 10, when qi pa was invited to taste their wedding reception food by kui mulang, he very sincerely told her that being from wolf blood line, he could marry only one person and he would treat her sincerely... But qi pa's response to that was immediate disbelief and she mumbled to herself that all men are liars.
2. Yesterday's episode when li xiong came to meet qipa before her marriage ceremony, he once again reassured her that kui mulang would love her after their marriage and give her his everything... Once again qi pa told him that her mother had taught her to rely on herself .
Hopefully after their marriage, kui mulang/ li xiong's sincere gestures and the love and sincerity he displays, would help qi pa believe in true love. She just needs to believe that fairy tales are real and true love does exist.
At this point qi pa trusts him with her life but not her heart.
I just hope that she finds out soon that kui mulang and li xiong are the same person..
Episode 11 Qi pa instinctively protected kui mulang which suggests that even though she is not verbally ready to acknowledge her feelings, she subconsciously likes him.
Kui Mulang chanting qi pa's name when he was hurt and unconscious... First thing he asks when he regains consciousness .. Where is qi pa and if she was ok... Shows deep caring.
Other thing, I liked in this episode was both qi pa and kui mulang had a heart to heart talk...

Hey, I wanted to thank you... I have been reading previous messages on this board and saw you answering many questions and providing necessary information to keep future viewers engaged and interested.
As per my observation czy is portraying three characters in this drama Kui Mulang (the king) - ruthless, dominant and wise Kui Mulang (the wolf) - vulnerable, adorable, mischievous Li xong (the man) - handsome, gentle, cordial.
I find all three personas acted out differently.
Love wu xuanyi, she is the reason, I am watching this drama. Qi pa can match and provide good foil to all three persona of kui mulang.... Qi pa - resourceful, brave, outgoing, beautiful.....
I feel in the end qi pa and kui mulang/ li xong will be the most compatible couple as both have a strong moral compass and propensity to do the right thing for their people.
They just need to get past the hurdles to achieve their ever after happiness. Their journey towards happiness is difficult and sometimes painful to watch but "All's well that ends well"
I always loved Beauty and the Beast story, good to watch the chinese version now. ?

That is another milestone achieved..... Let's keep supporting the drama... I wish it would reach 10k by the end of its run.
My speculation is that probably one of the parent was wolf and other moose, thats how they ended up having different blood line...
But it is very interesting question about bloodline and how each person ends up getting characteristics of different animal...
It would be great if the show touched upon this topic in future.
