Phatsa being moody, overly sensitive, overly emotional—and then next week's preview drops. I knew it!! F**king called it.—a week ago! Not saying this show is predictable, but...
The screenwriter needs more work experience. I suggest he go watch some of the absolutely stellar shows that have been released this year...learn from them...and stop keeping his work standard at the crummy, second rate level of the sub-par series' he acted in
Sometimes I get so caught up in Inn & Ongsa's chemistry that I forget I don't speak Thai and have to go back so I can read the subtitles...and then I get caught up in their chemistry again. No wonder it takes me 2 hours to watch a 46 minute show.
Three in the morning, California time. I got out of bed for episode ten and it took me almost two hours to get…
Your comments are always as much fun to read as the show is to watch. I can normally pick up on a lot of the nuance but your insights into the minutiae really add a lot of colour that I'd otherwise miss. Thank you.
Have a sneaking suspicion that Phatsa shooting his mouth off a Naphitch at the dinner table, and then being able to subdue him later on, might be the first sign that he's got a little Enigma bun in the oven
I'm still watching, and I'll finish it...but it's not sparking joy and I don't know who to blame.
The Alpha family mother and the 2 little girls at Ongsa's café are better actors than everyone else combined. Their dialogue flowed naturally, and didn't have that stilted broken delivery that seems to be common place in almost all Thai BLs. Is that an editing thing? Is that a writing thing? Is that a director thing? When it's industry wide, I can't place the blame on the actors (who don't even speak that way in their fan meets and LIVEs). And oh my word, the subtitles are still ridiculously bad.
Chat is seriously close to giving me a stress induced aneurysm. I've got blood vessels popping all over the place due to my inability to punch the living sh*t out of his pouty crying face. Inn did play the doting bodyguard for Jet (another annoying AF f**ker) in The Wicked Game - so maybe he's used to OTT drama queens.
If the ML had been given a "job" cleaning up his adopted father's illicit work, then it also made sense that the sister had been given a job too...just a different type of cleaning up. I'm left wondering how many other children he kept in the cages are involved in the business.
This needed to be 12 one hour long episodes for the story to be fleshed out properly. It's obvious that there's a whole bunch of back story involved, and getting tiny hints about it through brief conversations wasn't enough. Wasn't the worst show I've watched this year, but definitely had room for a lot of improvement.
I'm 4 weeks late to the start of the party...and boy have I been missing out. Just finished episode 1 and OMG the YEARNING!!! It was so intense it was giving me heartburn.
New rule I'm making for myself...go through my watch later list and send the garbage to the dropped pile. When gems like this exist, then there's no reason for me to waste my precious life hours on substandard crap when I can simply spend my free time lamenting the fact that I'll never find a man who will look at me the way these two look at each other...I feel so single 😭
Every now and then I feel the need to have a nice slithering wallow in my own moral grey areas - and this show is feeding that need nicely. I'm obsessed, I'm sat, and I'm loving Zhen Xin's girlfriend... she's an absolute hoot.
How to remove that main couple/second couple syndrome in one easy lesson...make it the same people playing both. I love how in the main storyline Zhang Zhun is like a deer caught in a trap, and in the second storyline his character Gao Zhun is the one laying the trap. Such an interesting show.
Episode 3 when they're in the trailer - at the 35:09 mark they start playing background music that I swear is from some 80's Hollywood movie soundtrack that's right on the tip of my tongue and it's going to drive me frigging nuts until I figure it out
I was trying to hold off on this until all the episodes were out. I heard it was made by the same people who made Secrets Happened on the Litchi Island, which was (to me) OK. I mean, I gave it an 8 which is still higher than I rate a lot of shows, but I wasn't gushing about it. Then I kept seeing the reels of this one being posted all over my socials, and I caved, and the agony of waiting for the next episode begins. The 2 main leads don't just have chemistry, they have CHEMISTRY. Watching each of the 5 episodes so far, I kind of feel that I'm intruding on something private and personal. With 11 episodes left to go, there's no way I'm we're not about to be put through the wringer - and I'm here for it. Destroy me, pummel my heart, and please leave me with a warm hug and a soft forehead kiss at the end before you go.
I'm sorry, my depraved sense of humour couldn't help it. While Wayu and Ice were slogging it away during that fight scene, all that was going through my head (because of the prop they used) is "The dildo of consequences rarely arrives lubed"...I apologise, I really do...but it wasn't my fault.
Since it's just a TV show I have no problem recommending Patricide as the most logical solution to Mueang's problems. As the *held responsible* older sibling to a very irresponsible younger brother, I felt that outburst like a punch in the chest. There's a reason I tend to always side with the villain - at least they understand what I've been through. It's taken me my whole life to realise that it's OK to be a disappointment.
My current watchlist is so long that I don't remember exactly which show I heard this in, but it was recent...Why be concerned about living up to other people's expectations when they always fail to live up to yours.
Mueang, do away with your dad, sell the farm to Sila, and go get yourself a life.
To cringe is to be free...after this episode I'm as free as a bird. Good on those actors for doing what they do, because I certainly couldn't—at least not in public. Still loving the show though, but part of loving it is that I spend half of each episode dying from second hand embarrassment. 'Up' in his little tight black top, and his crisp white shirts with the sleeves rolled...I spend the other half of each episode trying to still my throbbing heart.
