What do you mean jumpy? They are following each character and the only time they might jump around is with flash…
I get what you are saying. A lot of dramas that are very long, do intend to transit pretty smoothly from one incident to the next even if it's another story - that story actually refers back to that incident. For this, the incident happen then it goes right to another incident and the another incident and another then 2 or 3 episodes later, it comes back to that 1 incident. So it's hard to remember what actually happen. For me, I'll think to myself that CSS put the 3rd princess on fire but I forgot that she step on her hand the last episode.
As for the first part with the bridge incident, CSS got punish right away. So that flow pretty smooth with the story.
I partially blame on the editing as each episode is about 40 mins long only so the editor/director are trying to edit and leave the important scenes in. For us, we may think why they left this scene in when we rather watch this or that but it is what it is and we'll have to cope with the drama.
One thing I wish they could have done is have extra scene after each episode.

It doesn't matter to me. I don't care too much if the episode starts another scene or doesn't pick up from the last episode. I was only trying to interpret what username meant but she explained what she meant above. So I was a bit off.
I hardly ever get confused on these kind of dramas b/c it's pretty easy to follow even if I'm skipping. Chinese dramas you can skip the whole episode to the next and you won't miss anything.
Long story short b/c everyone keeps giving you 1 or 2 sentences explanation.LBY gets his revenge and comes back…
Look at him the same way as Consort Yue. On the outside, he looks like an ASS but really, he's a very good person. He's as honest and bold like his mom.
No. LBY going to war is different than his revenge. He goes to war and he comes back. He takes his revenge and…
I actually don't know b/c no one ever asked in the previous comment. I haven't read the novel but I read a lot regarding the novel on comments and the discussion based on people that read the novel.
Tell me about it. I've been searching for a new or old drama to watch and I can't seem to get pass 10 or 20 mins…
2022 has had quite a handful of good dramas so far. I won't be surprise if there's something else as good as this or similar to this by the end of this year.
What do you mean jumpy? They are following each character and the only time they might jump around is with flash…
I'm not sure exactly what username meant but what I take from the post - for example - episode 34 the ending was at the engagement party with CSS and LBY holding hands and then the start on episode 35, it was still at the engagement but we only got to see YS and CSS conversation. We get nothing more than that - then it jumps into the court where General Wan comes back stating they won or capture or whatever (I don't care too much about the politics stuff so I don't pay attention). Then emperor sentences the daughter and the mom. Then a few scenes later, we see CSS pleading the emperor to not execute the Madam Wang b/c empress is stress.
But that's my take - for me, I don't mind the chop or jumpy or whatever b/c I still understand what's going on. Less court stuff and more CSS and LBY interaction - I'm all for it.
SPOIL: I just saw the trailer for episode 42 or 15 of part 2 and it's clear that LBY and CSS had no problem before…
No. LBY going to war is different than his revenge. He goes to war and he comes back. He takes his revenge and then get ship away. LBY comes back 5 years later.
She only got engaged to YS b/c the empress wants to see her get marry before she dies. She asked a few other guys including the 5th prince and they all decline her. YS offered to married her so she agreed to the engagement.
Episodes are still not flowing smoothly, scenes are kinda jumpy, don't know if that is on purpose. It felt like…
I feel the same way too. I'm sure they had to cut a lot of scenes out. However, if they were doing these 2 parts, I don't know why they didn't just make it to 30 - 32 episodes each part so we get a nice smooth transition.
I'm convinced 90% are hate watching. Yes most episodes have over one million views but it's always between 300-500…
for Night, i skip every 5 to 10 mins. but for check out - it takes me like 5 mins to finish the whole episode and I didn't miss anything Still understood what happen.
Someone said that CSS and Whats his face teacher that I hate supposed to get engaged after the General and her…
Long story short b/c everyone keeps giving you 1 or 2 sentences explanation.
LBY gets his revenge and comes back to the palace when he confessed to the massacre. With his explanation, the Empress asked if he thought about how CSS feelings. I'm not sure the exact words from LBY but pretty much he said, he was willing to give her up for the revenge. So they didn't break up b/c of the revenge only, they broke up b/c LBY didn't consider about CSS' feelings and willing to break the engagement if he was punish. Sum it up, he "threw" her away.
So instead of getting beheaded, Emperor punish LBY by ordering him to go far away. That's when the 5 years gap happen. Empress and CP are also demoted for other reasons so CSS asked if she can stay with Empress and take care of her. Emperor agreed. Empress is dying and wants to see her get marry. YS wasn't her first choice, although he stayed by her side the 5 years. CSS pretty much asked a few other guys including the 5th prince and they declined her. YS was the only one that will marry her. Once the engagement happen, LBY comes back. The engagement wasn't long. LBY comes back and CSS realizes that she still loves him (well they still love each other) and CSS breaks the engagement.

If I was to guess, they are too afraid of LBY.
But that's my take - for me, I don't mind the chop or jumpy or whatever b/c I still understand what's going on. Less court stuff and more CSS and LBY interaction - I'm all for it.
Tencent - Please air all the episodes so I can move on with my life.

You are correct. Per the novel, lady luo will become evil.
