She's lying to protect herself because she is Meimei and she thinks that the marquis is a cold hearted killer.…
I was referring to the exchange between the fl and the sml. She told him that he killed his mei mei and all he kept saying was “impossible”…no explanation given, no questions asked as to why she thinks that…they are both smart so I felt that exchange weak
I think I am going to start to skip their “little moments” like at ep 19 when she’s drunk. I find that scene weird and I am over the sibling relationship. They need to move things along
Ep 19: I am so confused…isn’t the fl Mei Mei or is her maid Mei Mei? Why is she saying to the marquis that he killed her maid, and he keeps replying « impossible »? Why doesn’t he explain himself or even ask her why she thinks he killed her? The whole exchange was bizarre …did I miss something??

Till now,the obsessive 2nd ml's only concern is" what is her identity"..how is she,how she has been living all…
Wait, he actually watched her fall? I am very confused. I thought she has imagine it as we do not yet know what truly happened …I may hav miss something
The truth of the fl’s birth was revealed fairly early in the novel in order to move the story along, even if the novel was moving at a slower pace they knew they needed to put an end to that sibling relationship. Why drag it in the drama? The fl still does not know based on preview 22 of 40 episodes. That leaves us with only 18 episodes for the truth to be revealed. I feel that a lot of the events in the novel - which are part of their relationship transition - will not take place. I hope they won’t do a 180 turn on us and turn the relationship around immediately when the truth is revealed. I can understand the ml’s feelings because he knows the truth but the fl truly sees him as a her third gege. Looking forward to seeing how they will make it work
The Qing and Tang dynasties were very distinct. Simply remember, men's hairstyles during the Qing era were bald…
Thanks for the info. My knowledge of Chinese history and fashion has exceed a lot since yesterday, lol, I can now tell the difference between the dynasties through fashion. Thanks to the internet!
For novel readers, at what point in the story will FL real identity be revealed? I want her to know she and 3rd…
Fairly early - she finds out at chapter 72 of 196. The duke also comes to take her in the same chapter. The romance don’t kickstart right away because she’s very young in the novel and a lot of things need to happen first. For example, the fl has to leave the Luo family, move in with her real family. The ml has to do a lot of scheming to marry her, and even then the romance does not start because she is still young and see him as her third brother for a good while thinking he married her to protect her. The drama is loosely following the novel so romance may kickstart earlier as the novel is moving at a different and slower pace.
No, this is the Song Dynasty based on the design of their clothing and officials' hats. A very, very feminist…
Thanks for the explanation- I think I’ll read more about the history of China to get a better understanding of time periods. The description you provided is helpful.
I was thinking, if I were the ml, I would not invite the dad at my wedding, but then, I remember that they need to bow to the parents. Can we replace him with a stick figure? lol
I can never know in what period a cdrama takes place. I guess this one takes place during the Qing Dystany? I read that the status of concubines improved during the Qing dynasty and it became permissible to promote a concubine to wife. Wasn’t concubine Qiao trying to be promoted to wife?
Opps lol
