There's zero need to report this. This writer is all soaked in the gossip. Ridiculous fandom wars are nothing anyone needs to know about. We need an adult in the room. Bring back user contributed articles.
It discusses the Jo Jin Woong case in particular. The description:
"As a former magazine editor in Korea, I witnessed the fragile reality behind the glamorous image of K-Pop idols and actors. Today, I'm breaking my silence to talk about the madness that destroys them.
Recently, top Korean actor Cho Jin-woong (famous for the K-Drama 《Signal》) disappeared from the public eye overnight. He admitted to a past mistake and quit everything. But was it really just about his mistake? Or was it a "Game of Dice" rigged by the media and political polarization?
In this video, we dive deep into:
The fall of actor Cho Jin-woong and the "Witch Hunt" culture in Korea. The dangerous rise of "Private Justice" and digital lynching. The role of controversial media outlet 《Dispatch》. Why Korean celebrities are held to higher moral standards than politicians. The heartbreaking truth about why idols and actors are breaking down.
This is a story about the cost of fame in a society driven by madness."
"As a K-pop, K-drama international fans since the 90s. The cancel culture in Korea was and is always too much and always rage out of proportion! And all of these "public bullying" have taken lots of their artists' life but they still not slowing down."
"I can't understand the mentality that crucifies people for simple mistakes or human faults. Celebrities are normal.people who happen to be in the public spotlight. They seem to get no privacy in South Korea. Real criminals get slaps on the wrist."
"The netizens that control these people’s lives are angry gossipmongers who impose standards that they themselves couldn’t and don’t follow."
"Thanks for this video. Korea’s created one the best entertainment industry in the world, with amazing performers. It’s sad there’s such a toxic culture of judgement, where rumours spread fast and forgiveness is rare. Actors and idols bring us joy but they aren’t here to fulfil anyone’s fantasies of perfection. They’re humans who deserve compassion and room to live their own lives. And no one should have the right to judge a person before they are proven guilty."
"This has been the most disturbing thing I have seen since I became a fan of KDrama, and BTS. I am really concerned about this with the advancement of AI. There are so many extremely toxic fans (and I believe in some cases, rival companies) that are beyond toxic. It goes into ev*l! Why do they seem to enjoy bringing people down and participating in massive, tribal bullying? Do these people not see the hypocrisy of their behavior. Massive bullying is worse than most things they protest against.
I am a FIRM believer in innocent until proven guilty so it’s disturbing when I see people convict people based on allegations. Anyone can make an allegation."
“Let him who is without sin among you be the first to cast a stone…”
"Thank you for this video and for speaking up about what really goes on behind the scenes. From the outside, it’s hard to fully understand the culture, but it feels terribly sad and strange to build idols up as perfect beings, then destroy them just in a whim. There’s that saying: hard times create strong people, strong people create good times, good times create weak people, and weak people create hard times. After decades of hardship and sacrifice, the past 30 years of prosperity seem to have brought a different kind of weakness—one where society became unforgiving, hyper-competitive, and quick to tear people down.Watching Korean dramas and movies lately, it often feels like the whole society has become emotionally immature on a collective level: obsessed with perfection, harsh on mistakes, and leaving little room for human vulnerability. It’s heartbreaking."
"감사합니다 for this video. I am an actress, acting teacher from Greece and the past few years I am also working as a producer. What happens in South Korea with the celebrities and generally the artists doesn't happen anywhere else. Definitely not in Europe and is probably out of hand. I have no idea how the artists cope with this (if they do) but more people need to speak up like you do. A small incident in their personal life and is enough to start a huge debate. Let's not forget that these are humans with their private (PRIVATE) lives, with their good and bad days and they are entitled to that."
Read and learn, Lily Malice. We need an editor in this platform without blood in its hands.
This is the Koreaboo method: FIND A RANDOM MALICIOUS COMMENT MADE IN SOCIAL MEDIA AND CONCOCT A FABRICATED STORY ABOUT "A CONTROVERSY".
WE DON'T NEED THIS SHIT IN MDL TRYING TO RUIN ACTORS' REPUTATIONS.
THIS WRITER NEEDS TO QUIT. ENOUGH OF THE FABRICATED CONTROVERSIES.
FOR MDL LILY MALICE IS THE DEEPEST ROT.
This could be good site for drama discussion and analysis if not left in the hands of gossip hungry tabloid writers who live deep in that mudpit.
There are enough malicious gossip sites for those who love any whiff of a "scandal" or "controversy".
Just anyone, no matter what age and level of maturity, can start writing to MDL. Nobody reviews. The consequences are what we've already seen. Kids invited to post death wishes for actors, kids invited to throw mud , kids invited to misbehave and be disgusting.
There are thousands of user contributed articles that don't see the light of day. MDL is getting more and more problematic by each day. There needs to be an adult in the room. Pls leave the actors alone.
Lily Malice's role in their profile is stated as editor. I'm inferring he/she is the person who actually runs…
I can't watch actors being bullied. This girl actor with the earrings "controversy" was only 16 when the mud throwing happened. It's pretty sick, imo. I'm going to use my voice even if it has no effect. It does, I think, because a community we're making it clear we don't wish to see more actor harming news.

It should be enough that there is a MDL page for Rebirth and users say what they think about it. Why would "netizens" elsewhere be more prestigious in their takes? We need to root out this negativity for MDL to be FOR DRAMAS NOT AGAINST DRAMAS.
Best actor of his generation. The person who decided to cast him for Spring is green nailed it, it was a huge change…
MDL has been keeping the user contributed articles out of this site for so long. (And instead preferred to publish the malicious gossipy "news" articles). I hope this signals a much needed change.
I have really been missing user contributed articles like this! Loved it!
At a Distance Spring is Green is where I noticed Park Ji Hoon's acting skills. I was so mesmerized. I never thought I'd watch another school/youth drama again. But the drama is actually quite underrated, a serious drama.
He did the dual role in Love Song for Illusion flawlessly. I saw he took risks with the fighting and horseriding scenes. (Also saw he got injured at some point). It's not his fault that the writing of the drama went haywire in the second half.
I feel this article came right on time to give us some good feelings about MDL as a whole gain!
You're not supposed to read comments at all if you get very disturbed by opinions differing from yours. Take it…
The time in which I decide whether to watch or not is 20-30 mins. With a lot of experience that is enough to see the ingredients of a drama. The ingredients or quality of dialogue will not magically change as the drama progresses. If I would stick with bad or mediocre dramas, there would never be enough time to watch the really ambitious and remarkable ones.
You're not supposed to read comments at all if you get very disturbed by opinions differing from yours. Take it…
I never expect anything else than that people have different opinions. This is going to be a fanpage with every whiff of criticism attacked as hate. Which will trigger a reaction to the opposite, as seen in the Lovely Runner page.
This is going to be a huge success. I really want to love it as I love the actors - including and particularly…
- palace plotting where Jo Jae Yun is the main antagonist with Steve Noh) - chaebol family infighting (between IU and Lee Jae Won) - Yoo Son Bin bringing comic relief as BWS's sidekick - Steve Noh as IU's unbearable ex - met as kids trope - noble sacrifice trope - breakup in ep 11 - plus every other trope in the trope book - lots of PPL
I still don't think romcom genre needs to be tropey and not artistically ambitious. Hallyu wave can get successes with star power + tropebook but without seriously going out of familiar frames it's doomed.
This is going to be a huge success. I really want to love it as I love the actors - including and particularly Gong Seung Yeon. But I feel this is too calculated and predictable, based on the 1st ep. I hope I'm wrong. But you will see:
HOW DARE YOU DO THIS.
HOPEFULLY YOU HAVE TO PAY A LOT. APOLOGIES ARE NOT SUFFICIENT.
Then maybe the owners of this site will finally get rid of Lily Malice. It's way past due date.
Remember the Paris photography shop that leaked Ok Taeceyon's private photos. THEY GOT INTO BIG TROUBLE.
And just pls leave just Zhang Linghe alone.
We want user contributed editorials and not this gossip soaked teenager writing here what ever her deep-in-the- mudpit-mind desires.

I'm making my MDL Lily Malice method article now by quoting comments by netizens. But I do it to enact positive change, NOT TO AMPLIFY the witch hunt which unfortunately is the Lily Malice goal (as we can see today and every day another "controversy" designed to throw mud at actors (see https://news.mydramalist.com/article/zhang-ruo-nan-s-studio-calls-out-i-live-in-your-time-s-team-amid-on-set-distraction-controversy)
