Boy on stage, boy in love

75% of this episode is a not-so-convoluted attempt to collect another LY... I mean MARS member, which meanders for most of the time and has a very satisfying culmination. The remaining 25% is pure BL gold, with one precious nugget deposited in GMM... I mean ONER's storage room, and the other 2 tonnes of heartwarming goodness filling the last 10 minutes of the episode. More of that good stuff please!

The show keeps surprising me in a positive way - with decent performances, subverting expectations and intelligent writing. Ep. 3 revealed more about MARS' inner workings and fully delivered on the Nut-William front. With the dreamy atmosphere of ep. 2 gone, the air became almost too clear for BL romance - and yet we got several good WilliamEst/ThamePo bits, all of which were about connections and staying in touch. Hope that trend continues.

Mr. A and Mr. B are having a moment

That was a little gem of an episode, quiet and neatly crafted, with a great dreamy atmosphere, both mains sharing a touching connection and the plot taking an expected turn towards a journey of "Mr. A" and "Mr. B" to visit all MARS members. William and Est keep on going strong and storywise everything so far flows in a natural (non-forced) way. Also, a lot of the cinematography looks like taken from a movie - which is brilliant. I was impressed with last week's episode and I'm impressed even more with episode 2. Very good job.

Why so empty?

It's still a no for me, still the same artificial feeling - now getting stronger as I noticed how weirdly empty the show's world is (it's more a vibe, less the number of people - extras - appearing on screen). I also feel everyone's delivery got worse - to the point of becoming utterly unconvincing. I really like Khao, First, Joong and Dunk, I really liked FirstKhao in "Eclipse" (and far less in "Only Friends"), but here - they all fail miserably. I hope this will change - and, to my surprise, I think JoongDunk have a better chance to improve, show something interesting.

This feels like plastic

There was something weird, something off about most of the delivery by First and Khao in this episode, and it went beyond what they were saying and how they were saying it. Since ep. 1 this series has a vibe of being artificial, plastic and fake in almost every aspect - the visuals, the setting, the dialogue... Joong switched from being constantly surprised to be in this show to being himself, at least mostly, while Dunk switched from trying to portray a funny character to being every character he tried to portray in previous shows. Still, Joong did utter the only good line of this entire show so far: "I don't like that I miss you". The whole scene before and after that wasn't good (it felt, like many scenes in this show, like taken from someone's weird fantasy) and Joong was making a funny face while saying it, but that one line was delivered properly.

Does it start to balance out the cringe?

The cringe continues, with awful dialogue, poor delivery (mostly by Dunk and Ken), Joong looking like he can’t believe he’s in that show and First portraying a character he doesn’t fit. Also, there are some weird sound issues. On the other hand there’s that FirstKhao chemistry, while Dunk teasing and tempting Joong is kinda amusing.
