When SIla said he dated a junior from his university I thought of "Zo" from "A Boss and a Babe", played by Ohm Thipakorn Thitathan. What a weird connection to make.
This series has the same mistakes as “my grandpa is a bl writer.” If it’s marketed as a bl, has a bl in…
I'm forced to agree. I was surprised that a show consisting of just 8 episodes has so many characters and provides them with so much screen time, that the main couple seems sidelined for most of the show's duration (at least for now). Having a lot of characters isn't bad in itself, but here they all have too much to do and to say - a girl side couple in the making, two friends coming of age, business dealings, old rivalries between families... Why all of that was included and given so much attention (instead of being a mere addition to the main plot) is beyond me.
You mean the end of ep. 2/start of ep. 3 stuff with Saithan? I was thinking more in the direction of traumatic past/suppressed memories of Saithan himself.
I like that both Ko Neung and Ko Song pretend to be tough - and how both Progress and Almond try to present that. Almond brings this weird mix of surface calm and actual strength to his character; there's a facade of being assertive, which drops with each nervous glance at his screen partner, but there's also true resolve and quiet determination to his. Ko Neung - because of all his antics - is all over the place, often infantile and annoying; there are also glimpses of real maturity - that's more of Progress than his character, I guess - showing that there's a young adult in that child.
Glad I wasn't the one to point out Fourth's veeeeeery long screen absence - but it bothers me too. I checked that…
Not sure there's a connection. Fourth's father died in April 2025. Fourth was working before that (that included part of the US tour with Gemini, which took place in April 2025, his usual side gigs as well as acting - he filmed "Kijsada Paradise" in February and March 2025, if one is to believe MDL's comment section) and after that. Still with his buzz cut he was already back working in May 2025 - attending events, modelling etc. The rest of 2025 was pretty much like Fourth's 2024 and 2026 - not much resting there. The missing part (and that's what my comment was about) was a GMMTV show starring Fourth.
This is another GMMTV show which will not be released on YT - it'll be on GMM25 and viu only. Was there an announcement/statement by the company with an explanation of why more and more of their releases are not happening on YT or are geoblocked on YT? I tried to understand that with "Love You Teacher" (geoblocked), "When Oranges Fall" (only ep. 1 and 2 will be released on YT, the remaining 10 episodes - only on GMM25 and oneD) and "A Dog and A Plane" (to be available only on one31 and true visions NOW) - tried and failed. Will those shows be re-released on YT, like "Dare You To Death" was? (to those who did not notice: on 27.04.2026 - 2 months after the show ended airing on Netflix - all 10 episodes of "Dare You To Death" popped up on GMMTV's YT channel)
Last week I was complaining that the first half of the series barely even felt like a BL anymore, it was just…
I do agree that they neglected the BL aspect of the show in ep. 1-6. I usually complain when a show "forgets" that it's primarily a BL. However, here I'm enjoying the show sufficiently and that issue doesn't bother me as much as it normally would. I'd say that the general feel of the show is good, focusing on Nakhun as a "fish-out-of-water" character (hence having less time to get romantically involved with Phop) was so far justified and the secondary/support couple is filling some of the missing BL content - all of that balances (at least for me) the lack of more intense romantic content with the main couple in ep. 1-6. One could even say that - when it comes to Nakhun-Phop - this a very slow burn type of story (a lot about the setting and both main characters reminds me of "A Tale of 1000 Stars", another slow burn - albeit there tension between both main characters was strong from the very start). So far the only time this became a problem was in ep. 7: all the revelations regarding Nakhun's and Phop's feelings for each other felt like they came out of nothing (not entirely, but clearly not enough work was done to prepare them). That being said, the entire evening sequence with Nakhun and Phop is so good, that it more than compensates for that missing buildup.
Fans from 2023 till February 2026: how come a show that was filmed, that’s basically ready, can’t be aired? Why doesn’t anyone finish and release it?
Fans in early Feb 2026: is it possible? Are the rumors true? Will we get to see JeffBarcode after all?
Fans after SOS’ statement from 13.02.2026: it’s all over since Jeff says he's not involved.
Fans in March and early April 2026: we’re getting "Wooju Bakery" this April! Hooray! Also fans during that period, jokingly: will Jeff and Barcode speak Thai, while the rest of the cast will speak Korean? Sounds interesting!
Fans after watching the trailer: this looks sooooo good! And we’re finally getting it!
Fans after SOS’ statement from 17.04.2026: let’s boycott it, Jeff&co. didn’t get paid.
Fans after Habitus’ statement from 18.04.2026: so were they paid or not? are we supposed to boycott? whom do we trust?
Fans once GagaOOLala dropped the show: discussion’s over since there’s nowhere to watch the show.
Fans after wavve released ep. 1-2: what a disappointment! That’s not the show that we’ve been waiting for! And they speak Thai and Korean – that’s so confusing, especially with no decent subs. Also: watching it illegally is okay, ‘cause the show was made illegally.
I just watched the accidently released trailer ... they're speaking Thai. So, I would say that they did not keep…
Someone addressed this issue in this comment section before, stating that Jeff and Barcode filmed the show in Thai, while Korean cast members filmed it in Korean. It makes sense: with subtitles there's no need of doing it differently, no point in dubbing it either. Besides, we can assume that Jeff and Barcode spend almost the entire time on screen talking to each other, so both of them speaking Thai seems only natural.
Habitus seems to be owned by Cinema Upright and actually Barcode follows the CEO and she has both Cinema Upright…
Thanks for that lead! Now I know why I couldn't find any media company called Habitus - their IG profile looks nothing like what one could expect. A total of 24 posts; 3 videos from August 2024 (with the logo from yesterday's statement) and 21 posts with single pics from May 2024, all displaying interiors or interior details. At first I thought it's an account of an interior decoration company which is now defunct. However, two of the posts from August 2024 have descriptions mentioning sets for YT videos and photosessions - that's what they are displaying. Obviously, there's nothing about "Wooju Bakery" nor even about them producing any media content. Still, Habitus is real and was not a shell created recently. It's insane that a company like that obtained the rights to "Wooju Bakery".
Prior to posting the above I asked Cinema Upright - on IG and through a contact form on their webpage - whether the statement quoted by "BoysLoveHubENG" was indeed theirs (I linked to it just in case). That was about 40 minutes ago. They just responded on IG, but instead of confirming or denying anything they sent me the statement as it was qouted by "BoysLoveHubENG", adding nothing - that was their whole reply. At least it does come from one of the parties involved. Also: nice of Cinema Upright to reply so promptly - it's 7 PM in my time zone, but it's 2 AM in Korea.
The more I look into it the less I understand and the more opaque everything is. Supposedly a shot, but unfinished "Wooju Bakery" was bought from the bankrupt Hanyang International Studio by a company called "Habitus". No idea whether it’s Korean or Thai – I couldn’t find any trace of its online presence: no webpage, no social media profiles. Bit weird for a media company. I did find several Korean companies with the word "habitus" in their name, but none of them seemed to be the one I was looking for. Also: up until recently all posts about the upcoming release of "Wooju Bakery" mentioned Cinema Upright (시네마직립보행) as the company which bought the unfinished show from Hanyang – where and when did this "Habitus" show up? Yesterday a statement signed "Habitus Company" popped up online, denying allegations from a statement by Studio On Saturn issued on 17.04.2026. As far as I can tell, this rebuttal was posted only on an IG account "wooju.bakery.official", which – as someone else in this comment section pointed out – was created on the same day. Pretty late for an account dedicated to a show, which was to start airing on 10.04.2026 (only to be postponed till 19.04.2026, and later to be postponed indefinitely, at least by GagaOOLala). BTW: I tried to image search the "Habitus" logo from the statement – to no avail. Yesterday the X account "BoysLoveHubENG" (as well as some pages, like overseasidol.com and tonboriday.com) posted about a statement by Cinema Upright regarding the SOS-Habitus dispute, quoting it (source: https://x.com/BoysLoveHubENG/status/2045552521549123703). However, there’s no trace of that statement on Cinema Upright’s webpage (where they do mention "Wooju Bakery" as a show they co-produced and released) nor on their IG and YT accounts. Also: this statement says that all inquiries should be directed to "official accounts managed by the lead production company" – and indicates "wooju.bakery.official" as such. But what do I know; maybe that statement is genuine and was only "sent to the press", as "BoysLoveHubENG" claims. ===UPDATE=== No longer so opaque! Thanks to @pinkb7usher I found "Habitus Company"; this is their IG account: https://www.instagram.com/habitus_company/ If you have doubts whether it’s the same Habitus that is involved with "Wooju Bakery", compare the logos from that IG and yesterday’s statement – they are the same. Depending on the source (post, comment, news), Habitus is responsible for production, post-production, distribution, release, some of the above or all of the above regarding "Wooju Bakery". Judging by their IG posts they are (or at least were - back in 2024) in business of renting a set/sets for making videos and photo sessions. In one of the comments below this updated post @pinkb7usher mentions they heard that the bakery set used in the series was a Habitus set and that Habitus might have been responsible for photography as well. As for Cinema Upright, they were established in February 2025 and are producing video content (from what I’ve seen – for YT and mobile devices, but there might be more). They have a webpage (www.cinemaupright.com) with a timeline of their activity, where they mention "Wooju Bakery" in – this is interesting – September 2025, stating "8부작 미드폼 드라마 <우주빵집> 공동제작". Google translated this as "Co-production of the 8-episode mid-form drama *Space Bakery*". They mention "Wooju Bakery" again on that timeline in April 2026, writing "8부작 미드폼 드라마 <우주빵집> Wavve 공개8부작 미드폼 드라마 <우주빵집> Fuji TV 공개", which apparently means "8-Episode Mid-Form Drama Released on Wavve 8-Episode Mid-Form Drama Released on Fuji TV". You can watch their content on YT and IG (links are on their webpage). Korean composer Soobin Lee (www.composersoobin.com) is credited with writing music for "Wooju Bakery". He composed music for "죽을수없는밤", a web series available on Cinema Upright YT channel. His webpage lists Lim Hyeran (임혜란) and Eun Jonghun (은종훈) as executive producers of "Wooju Bakery", confirming what @pinkb7usher wrote about Lim Hyeran; she’s also a CEO of both "Habitus Company" and Cinema Upright, as @pinkb7usher mentioned. Eun Jonghun wrote and directed the aforementioned web series by Cinema Upright.
No, Barcode filmed this series before he joined GMM. GMM doesn't have anything to do with this. And to clarify…
I'm aware of everything you wrote, but that does not address my point. While Barcode probably wasn't under GMMTV's management when filming "Wooju Bakery", they are managing him now - and the controversy is happening now, his interests might be at risk now. If Jeff Satur's agency (which is said to have been established by him, but is a separate legal entity) tries to protect his interests today, makes claims on his behalf etc., I wondered whether GMMTV has similar obligations managing Barcode, regardless of when the problem started. But I could be wrong - Barcode's contract with GMMTV may only regard issues that arose after that contract was concluded. That's why I inquired about the issue here.
Any idea (or news or leak or educated guess) why only SOS went public to announce it is "not supporting" the release of the series and why GMMTV stays silent? Isn't GMMTV Barcode's current agent (and not just his current employer)? If so - shouldn't they protect his interests, like SOS is doing with Jeff Satur?
No idea. I just checked the trailer on YT, at the end of it I got a link to part 1/4 of episode 1 on YT, but when…
Do you mean future GMMTV shows? Or will this include upcoming episodes of shows that already started airing, like "Cat for Cash", "My Romance Scammer" and "Only Friends: Dream On"? BTW: limiting YT content to Asia or just part of it is a very strange decision. I would understand it a few years ago, but now, when GMMTV is holding fan meetings and events outside of SE Asia - it seems counterproductive. If the company hopes to increase its earnings by forcing the rest of the world to pay to watch that content - it might be up for a surprise. There's plenty of Thai BL content available for free, so some inter fans might turn away from GMMTV, while others will use VPNs and other methods to get to that content without paying for it. Also, this will further damage GMMTV's reputation, already tarnished by heavy overpromissing, PR fails and drop in show quality.
Will those shows be re-released on YT, like "Dare You To Death" was? (to those who did not notice: on 27.04.2026 - 2 months after the show ended airing on Netflix - all 10 episodes of "Dare You To Death" popped up on GMMTV's YT channel)
