This is one of the most frustrating dramas I have watched for a while. It’s the textbook case of ambitious plot, promising start, messy middle and narrative betrayal. My biggest issue is how they reduced the ml to a mere side character. He started as a smart, commanding, cool guy but somewhere midway he turns into a simp and his presence fades away. He gets sidelined emotionally, strategically, and in screen time. By the end, he becomes irrelevant to the political plot, while the second male lead becomes more relevant. The female lead was super selfish and immature despite living her second life. I mean how stupid do you have to be to chase the guy that poisoned you for years and finally killed you? The whole thing was a shitshow

Well, thank you. I won’t be wasting my time watching this. Also, I think most Chinese dramas ( with very few exceptions) start with strong Ml and then reduce him to a simp with no back bone and the fl never changes. They just followed the trend here. Speaking of a trend, we been getting too many dramas where the fl declares to be independent and opens a shop and then the ml helps her nonstop. I can think 5 dramas like that. Not that I have a problem with it but try to different at least.

We need more dramas like with a strong ml. They become rarity these days:)

Yo why is the trailer so good😭😭 it’s been a while since I’ve been excited for a drama. I never seen any of Shen Yue’s dramas but her acting looks amazing and uniquely different from other actresses. Can’t wait to watch this :))
