On Never Let Me Go May 13, 2025
I didn't have high hopes for this after watching We Are, but I'm honestly glad I gave it a chance. Half way through, and I'm having a good time.

Mostly just a lot of longing. I feel like the romance itself feels a lot like Moonlight Chicken's, so the fact that it's the same pair makes this seem really disappointing. I wish I'd watched this first, because I like the story better even if it was very predictable.

I also felt like Mix's line delivery was very flat throughout which I'll attribute to it being his first project. Khaotung was a delight though!

Title Last Twilight Spoiler
I feel like a lot of people who feel slighted by the breakup don't really understand the nuances of Day being disabled. If you watch the After Last Twilight, Sea makes a point where Day doesn't want to hold Mohk back. Day was in great conflict when he made that decision, because he was so ready to take those next steps with Mohk, but Mohk wasn't. Not only that, but it isn't just pity. There is a very deep fear of being a burden to those you love when you're disabled. Day has expressed several times that he doesn't want to be treated differently, and Mohk was the only person he trusted to treat him the way he wanted to be treated. So when Mohk lied, he broke that trust. Mohk is an amazingly kindhearted person, but that lie was a bigger issue than a lot of people realize.

Honestly, I'm proud of Day for being able to advocate for himself.

And for those of you wanting to talk about Mohk's trauma. I get it. I would have liked to see his recovery play out on screen too. I would have happily given up that stupid air port chase for it, but we didn't get it. But I'll tell you right now, as someone who lost their brother the same way Mohk lost his sister? I would never ask for, expect, or even want an apology from Day, because the loss is mine to deal with and Day isn't a mind reader. He knew that Mohk lost his sister, but he didn't know about the rest until after Mohk had already lied. They could have worked it out, but Mohk was making decisions for the both of them.

Did the break up need to happen? No, but that's what we got, and the reasoning wasn't as absurd as people make it seem.
