I don't really know this stuff but that doc is a naga king, even in his actual form in his previous life tharn…
There are classes even among the kings, the Mekong river that this story is based on is supposedly made by prominent ancient Naga kings, exactly who varies greatly.
And doc as a city "king", is quite low as a Naga King. Phaya as a master, tells us little about his rank. So we can't compare.
And Phaya was in the trap set by doc, fighting in water/rain domain, as explained by the naga sister. So who is originally stronger, tough call.
As for the amulet, Tharn draws naga power from it, his own soul. No matter what you think, how can you say Tharn having no naga power? And what would you call his premonition, clearly a remnant of his naga power.
Even if Tharn is just a human, he is a cop who fights for justice. So he is weak, he as a cop would still fight. Not fighting, no self defense whatsoever, doesn't fit his personality.
Omg a slice of life done right, it does not betray my expectations, it goes beyond.
Someone like Kai is still on the market? Handsome, understanding, with build in domestic household support, one can only become useless with a partner like that.
This is a very problematic plot too. I dare say they have done well with such a setting. How do they plan on wrapping this up?
Is the android setting really needed at all? A regular caretaker like Last Twilight would do. And I think it would be better with a alive dog, not a convenient tear jerker.
Let's give it one more EP, if they will give more usual clichés, I will drop this one.
Both Tharn and Phaya are reborn as humans, not as Naga and Garuda, they shouldn't have any powers. And as a human…
Thanks for the response, let me say we are arguing as in discussion, and it clarified many things for me as well.
The red light suggested fire, so it was odd to begin with. When I sleep on it, it might not be the amulet (or not just), but both Garuda and Naga power?
And no the alteration of the story of Nandopananda is not made by the writer or production, how do I say it neutrally?
For example: Buddha is generally depicted as male. When Buddhism spread into China, Avalokitesvara is depicted in woman form. Now I'm not arguing about the form. Just that the story followed mythology evolved as they spread.
Same for Thailand, when Buddhism stories merged with Thai's Naga mythology, we have more localised settings. Try putting more keywords into Google: nandopananda naga ordain Thai.

Also, Naga fireballs has nothing related to Buddhism. It is just an unexplained natural phenomenal.
They made that up to begin with, so no point in arguing about that. Now to be safe, Naga as a creature is thought to be guardians of Buddhism by some schools. The fireball as a natural phenomenal, existed long before they start to promote the Naga ceremony.

The doc repeatedly addressed the monk as old men, and the monk told doc that he would lose his human form. Then he told Phaya to bring Tharn to him so he can protect them from doc. And said Tharn would do something about prince Chalothon so don't tell him.
The amulet never saved Phaya from any danger except when they needed it, and surely only when Tharn is there, so Tharn having no Naga power?
And Phaya has regained his power and fought doc for nearly 1/4 of an episode remember, not flashback. Or you would call that delusion coz doc got injured afterwards.

Now I'm not an expert on mythology, but that is what they hinted as in one of the flashback.
And yes for the Buddha too, but why? Because of their king. So the fireballs are for both, you are not wrong.
I will not speculate whether the king reincarnated into human so he can become a monk or what not. Idk, but why the monk knows everything, and doc (aka Naga prince) will not touch him? Surely doc is not giving face to the Buddha.

Tharn did get his power back when they were in that basement fight, Tharn vs the other cop who was possessed by doc. Tharn won. Remember too the Abbott is the Naga King, so pulling rank the monk wins.
So going with it, now I'm not dissing, but surely they did not handle this EP as best they could. They could have Tharn vs. Doc and lost (like you suggest), and showed us how Phaya survived the fall, those are very crucial moments in the series.
That scene was so odd, with Tharn kidnapped by doc, then immediately switched to him finding Phaya.
I may give this a one episode watch then rewatch the original.
This is a hot mess no matter how you see it. If the production stay true to the original, everything will look dated, the clothes, hairstyles, dialogues etc. If they update and change it, many fans will be upset and out on patrol.
I see no point and no win for this one. Why not love sick: new generation or something, you can then get a cameo from the original actors to promote it.
This is "Love Stage!" remake 2.0, without the cast which has had a fanbase to begin with.

Btw, we have the quickest man alive. <3 sec

I wonder, how about chef Paul then? He deserves the pay poor judge.
Nandopānanda (Nantopananta), the Serpent king, also referred to as Naga prince.
That's the Naga tamed by Buddha. In a deviation, the story here where he is not human and so cannot ordain.
And at the same time, whoever Naga's soul amulet he has also activated and send him to Phaya? Who also was saved by Tharn's soul amulet?
Thank you, so that's why they have different colours. Okay, that makes more sense, barely.

And yes Gun is looking great, we have his real sister in this series and he looks way younger than her.
Na is telling us, all these game shows are scripted. Btw, the outstanding didn't even get a line.

They glossed it over, but the Naga ceremony existed because their king chose to become a monk once upon a time.

It may be dated, but no cliché cheap plot about it, they did it first when it is fresh and charming.

With love class setting we won't get to see it though even if we get S3
My money still on one of the twin's friends, and namely Zouey the best friend.
I still don't after a rewatch. Okay he is trash we get that, so we dump the murder onto him too🤔?
