there's no medicine that can treat her illness, nothing that can prevent her from fainting. the stuff her mom does is only to try to strengthen her constitution or help her feel better after her fainting spells. so it's kind of unfair to blame her for not being able to stop herself from fainting.

as for the crying/pouting thing, i feel like she only does it for harmless things, and done in an obviously fake way so she doesn't really expect it to actually work? it's not as serious as you make it sound. it's not like she's gaslighting her loved ones. but if the show really bothers you, then you probably shouldn't watch. there's plenty of other dramas out there!

I think I am just going to be lamenting this forever - but, why, oh, why do they have to write FL this way. This…
Her fainting spells come on randomly, there's nothing she can do to be prepared. Of course they happen at the most inopportune times but that's because it's a drama and it's what drives the plot. She's silly/childish but almost in a tongue-in-cheek sort of way. She totally will shamelessly lie/pretend to cry sometimes but it's not done in a sneaky way. I don't find her as annoying as a lot of other female characters I've seen, but that's just me.

So far one of the best Chinese drama of this year, at least for me :-) I saw it just after finishing Starry night…
I'm not a fan of insta love so that's probably why the romance in this drama really worked for me. I much prefer shows where you can tell why (if not exactly when) the leads fell for each other 💕

It's not a big budget drama so as I think as long as you manage expectations it's a pretty good watch. They did remarkably well with what resources they had. I really enjoyed watching the main couple. Han Zheng is definitely eye candy!

Wow... I haven't watch it yet but... This is the first time my entire being is excited because of a Cdrama trailer

Disappointing romance overall!
I respectfully disagree! I watched just for their romance! I usually get bored if couples get together too easily, so I don't mind that it took them a while to finally get together. I loved watching Han Zheng the tsundere werewolf slowly turn into a loyal puppy lol. The one mate for life thing is nice. I also liked that there's no manufactured drama to separate them after they did get together.

Person Bi Wen Jun
Found him through Warm on a Cold Night. In costume he reminds me a lot of Xiao Zhan and may be a little bit of Chen Feiyu

He is a hottie - you can check out In A Class of Her Own. He is not the lead but he is great in that.
I just might! I've seen the Korean version and figured the Cdrama version probably wouldn't live up so passed on it when it first came out. I took a look at the trailer for his modern drama Sweet Teeth but I dunno, he looks more ordinary in that. Something about the styling in this one just really hit the right note for me. I can just watch him stroll across the screen in his flowery kimono all day 😝

"... marveling at how he makes a fanny pack and flowery kimono print robes look so hot. As I soak up his bold, expressive eyes, the high-tanned cheekbones, haughty nose, down to... dry, chapped full lips" <<<< OMGYES!! I couldn't have said it better myself! Well, I forgive the chapped part but his slightly upturned full upper lip is so... captivating? I'd never heard of Bi Wenjun before this drama, and tbh his acting is still quite raw, but dude is long and lean and looks SO good in costume... *fans self*

it sounds like i might've quit too soon, before the all good parts haha

i get your point. just the way they filmed it (he looked like he was struck speechless) is what led me to believe all his thoughts went out the window when he saw her lol. my first reaction would've been, so where is this supposed broken air purifier??

Just want to share opinion. I read your comments above and got to this comment.Actually IMO, JJ lied to get him…
The breakfast thing bothered me too, but apparently others think that's just her being cute or whatever. But yeah, it's not the fact that she tricked him to meet up, which admittedly isn't that big of a deal, but how it wasn't addressed at all (at least not right away) that bugged me. Just made it seem like it's okay to lie and trick and be demanding when you're pretty and everything is easily forgotten. If a second female lead had done what she did... viewers would be steaming haha

i already did drop it haha. i gave it a shot though! made it to 14-ish episodes so i feel like i got the tone of the drama and it just wasn't holding my interest anymore. i'm really not trying to nitpick, my motto has always been "don't like, don't watch" lol. i was just responding to someone in an earlier comment asking for an unbiased opinion and got sucked into sharing my 2 cents. i'm planning to watch one and only, but also waiting for the sequel because i like happy endings!

i respect that you share your opinions without resorting to insulting people who don't agree with your point of view, as some crazy fans of certain celebrities/shows do. i honestly kind of wish i enjoyed it as much as you did! haven't really found anything i truly loved in a while . been dropping a lot of dramas lately.

high number of views does not always mean quality. douluo continent was terrible but has tons of views because xiao zhan has dedicated fans

i agree with you about childish or overly dramatic dramas. not a fan of those. i LOVE a slow burn romance. but…
after thinking about it some more, i think the problem for me is that her character rubs me the wrong way. at least the way she behaved at the beginning of the drama. and i honestly couldn't see why he agreed to help her despite being tricked into a meeting (he never even called her out for it, it was basically a non-event), other than the fact that she was beautiful. she's a nice girl and isn't too narcissistic despite being a celebrity, but that's basically it. i just don't see the depth you speak of. i give the show credit for trying to portray his career struggles though. and i guess they do have to reunite in some way. just not a fan of the way they were brought together initially.

i actually think it does a show a disservice to lead people to think it's perfect. i had high expectations after seeing/hearing all the positive reviews, and ended up underwhelmed. i like it when people give good reviews but also acknowledge the shortcomings so people who haven't seen it yet can have more realistic expectations.

she's an entitled personality then. i can't imagine asking someone i barely know who i haven't seen in 10 years to bring me breakfast. that is, after asking them the huge favor of coming over everyday to teach me something. if anything, i'd be the one to provide him breakfast! but to give her credit, she could be a lot worse for a celebrity.

yeah a romance between 2 extremely looking people is definitely not "realistic" as some commenters like to refer to this drama as. there's nothing wrong with being attractive, they're people who need love too! but the development of their relationship just lacks something for me. and i agree, everyone has their own taste. i don't think it's a bad drama, just not the best thing since sliced bread as its fans make it out to be
