I love the original version and the novel, I discovered BL series because of it. But I understand what you mean. Everything so far is more believable in the thai adaptation. Everything characters did in the original felt so unrealistic and over the top, especially Gu Hai. This version is more toned down and it’s actually refreshing. I hope they also removed some of their weird unnacceptable stuff that happens in the novel.

Thanks for the info. Is it actually true that this series is unavailable in some countries because of legal issues ? It’s hard to believe everything that is being claimed here.

I’m pretty sure these laws don’t apply here (at least for now, but I highly doubt it will). It has to be really explicit and proven there was any harm. Otherwise, hundreds of series and movies would be illegal.

You can’t go around saying people like kissing children lol. There’s a difference between saying « he kissed a child » and « he kissed a 16-year-old ». It sounds dishonest saying it that way, that’s all I meant.

I know, it’s the word « children » that sounds wrong and dishonest. Minor yes, child no.

Legally they are considered. I meant biologically, 16 year old are not children. When saying those words it sounds like you’re talking about like 7 years olds. It sounds more extreme.

I would be surprised if there were any real 18+ scenes. I can’t believe they would go that far cause that would not be acceptable. I think those scenes will probably be more suggestive than actually showing it. We’ll see I guess.

There’s a big difference between a child and a 16-year-old. It’s very dishonest to keep calling him a child. Saying he’s ok with kiss ont children is simply not true and is called defamation.

Maybe we should before starting calling people pedophiles.

I was abused by a 16 years old when I was 10. He wasn’t an innocent « child » like you all seems to think. He was a pedophile. What you just wrote hurts me, you have no idea. And clearly you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Insinuating that someone you never met is a pedophile is much much worse than any actor ACTING in a series. It’s horrible and you should all be ashame.

Aren’t they 16 and 27? I understand being uncomfortable, it is a weird casting choice. But some people talk like it’s child molestation or something. 16-year-old boys are no children nor are they « poor babies » like some seems to think. Referring to the crew of the series as pedophiles is incredibly horrible. It just seems very exagerated to me. Everyone has the right to be uncomfortable or worried about it, but to go as far as accusing people of committing a crime is extreme.

It’s not an 18+ drama… and immorality is a very subjective thing. I agree the casting choice is odd and disappointing but we should just wait and see. People keep repeating horrible and extreme things here and it kinda bugs me. Everyone gets it, the age thing is odd but people make it sound like it’s much worse than it actually is.

I’ve read the novel twice. Pretty sure it will be nothing like it since it’s so explicit. Stop making assumptions about something no one knows about, like I said, it’s getting ridiculous.

What scenes are you referring to? We haven’t seen any yet…

Why don’t you all wait to actually see the show before judging it,it’s getting ridiculous. Why do everyone assume it will have any sex in it? They didn’t even kiss in Stay with me… And even if they kiss I don’t see the problem. I met my husband when I was 15 and he was 24. We’ve been together for 28 years now. Please stop, you’ve all made your point now.

The japanese version is one of my favorite bl ever but I think the thai version is quite good too. I knew it was impossible that it would be better than the original so my expectations were not very high. Fourth does an amazing job, and it’s no small task since the japanese actor was just perfect. It’s 100 times better than the Cherry Magic adaptation in my opinion.

Coming out in high school is difficult in any country. Being afraid of bullying is common everywhere and it’s totally ok not being comfortable about coming out publicly. As much as I like Thai BL, it is not representative in the least about the reality of being gay. Everyone is much more open and supportive in these series than in real life sadly. It’s getting better but not at this level yet and certainly not in high schools.

I understand it’s just that reactions here are over the top. The characters in the novel are 16. They are in high school so regardless of the actors age i’m pretty sure the intimate scenes will be « family friendly » The series won’t show those scenes from the novel because it would be way too explicit even if both actors were 25… In other words, it won’t be an 18+ series since the characters are in high school.

It’s called acting. 16 is legal for consent anyway. I understand being uncomfortable with it though and I would have prefered an older actor myself. It’s just that I find your reaction a bit much… he doesn’t need to be saved.
