I haven't watched the last 20 episodes but 29-30 was an absolute mess. This isn't much in the way of a 'bl' and i don't think it was marketed that way either. If so, i don't hold a grudge. However the storyline itself is in shambles. I would have dropped this if it wasn't just 3 minutes each
This is exactly why I stay away from social media and other BTS bullshit/hype/rumors. You just dropped a load…
Oh my, somebody is being quite rude—what a childish tantrum (sorry if this is patronizing but you sound quite childish. Courtesy should be earned? Whose? I hope you are not suggesting that i have to earn your courtesy—that's just laughable. Politeness is something i resepct but you lack such basic mannerisms, i can't even converse with you)
And i am sorry because i have to block you, feel free to vent about me in this thread though, but i do not want to face such fractitiousness today)
Times when Sohee has been a downright rotten turd by threatening someone and therefore come into my bad graces:
1. Threatening Daon. Yes. That's how i look at it. The way she asked him whether he has feelings for Taekyung and said that if he does then it would attract bad attention from others around them. That is so not how a true friend behaves. A true friend would say: its okay if you do, i'm supporting you all the way. I hate it when she says she's Da-on's friend or that she is important to him.
2. Lowkey threatening Taekyung. Need i explain further? Putting him down and for what—? You don't do that to people. To anybody. Validating yourself by invalidating others is not the way.
3. Threatening Namgoong. Yes, i know they are supposed to have that playful and silly enemies to lovers thing but i don't find her rudeness to Namgoong romantic at all. When she asked him whether he was sick, i almost softened for her but not anymore. It might be funny to others but not to me.
4. Threatening those girls to delete Da-on's number. This isn't possessiveness, it is manipulation of the worst sort. She os trying to change Da-on interactions and friends circle to make her influence larger (or so she believes)
They better have a solid redemption arc set up for her or else i'm going to throw hands if she ends up with my precious Namgoong
Please don't let Namgoong end up with Sohee. Crushing on someone is so different from what she is doing (yet she is a character whom one can easily encounter irl)
This show is playing so hard. Tuesday cliffhangers are bad but the Thursaday episodes have the worst cliffhangers. I spend five whole days agonizing over the next episode—my relationship with this drama is so healthy but i indulge in it anyway XD
The ending of episode 8 nearly gave me a heart attack, brain tumor and kidney stones with all the FEELINGS
People truly do immerse themselves too much in judging others. That time could be better spent watching a drama. Both sides have a point i suppose
I'll stray from this topic now because i really do want to watch this but i am short on time and i'm curious as to why you dropped it. Do you plan to pick it up later?
'Horny for a drama'—? I'm not sure whether the last part of your comment was directed at me (or what you meant by being horny for a drama) but i said these same things in a really -really- long comment under a thread below too. I feel bad for how the lbc cast get thrashed I won't write off Mean as homophobic (the only thing about him that i am interested in is his acting and now his direction) I have not seen such an interview where he says that it is a joke and if he did so, isn't it rather funny that he wrote it off it is a joke? This may be considered in compliance with my statement that anyone working in entertainment have to smooth over any such alienating comments. Actors and actresses often make comments which they later apologize for or shelve as a 'joke', even though it has hurt the sentiments of people these 'jokes' were targeted against
I'm not calling hom a homophobe, just that i know homophobic cast do work on lgbt productions (it is inevitable and it is difficult to judge the true natures of people). I hope their homophobic ideas do not show through in their productions—that is all i ask–and lastly, the way i want to interpret something is up to me, each to their own i say.
Oh my—c*nts? Might i interest you in using a slang which does not give offense to an entire creed of people of various genders (not just cisgender women), who have vaginas? Just to be clear, i appreciate the sentiment of your comment and using slurs isn't what is triggering me. It is the use of the word 'c*unts'. I would never call someone a 'dick' either because these are not just slangs but put down so many people
It's not just 'nothing' really. Unlike other people, i am hardly bothered with what happens behind the scenes—but when Mean made that comment that he might consider doing bl when he is 'old or needs money', it struck me as rather odd. Many actors have left the 'bl industry' (or so it is called) and have expanded roles. Sometimes if they've interested me enough, i even go search them up (i didn't like an eye for an eye much so i dropped that but i am devoted to the Thai actress Mild and i loved seeing the offmild pairing)
I don't even bother about pair changings, they are just actors after all. If the drama interests me, i would watch it—but his comment made it sound like he valued straight roles or non romantic roles and viewed them as something above homosexual roles
These are not just 'wild conclusions' as you dub my and others' statement. Not prioritising bl roles is one thing and making such a comment (referring, again, to when he said he would only return if he was old or moneyless) is quite another. Many like Perth and Plan have made their 'departure' too (as hurt bl fans coin it XD) but i am rather excited to see the lbc cast in the 7 project. So no, there is a certain fact based idea on which some people consider him homophobic.
Actors are trained not to alienate fans (sometimes this also stretches so far as to cut off their real life relationships with girlfriends or boyfriends, which is just plain sad for the actor). But sometimes these comments slip through and one can't help wonder why Mean had to phrase it that way. Nannon for example has said that he values all roles and would play anything if it contributed to increasing his acting skills.
This is exactly why I stay away from social media and other BTS bullshit/hype/rumors. You just dropped a load…
That's the way of the internet i'm afraid. But as i mentioned, scroll through the comments for a bit and you will find some links (i cannot be bothered to search up the links where i saw Mean making such comments though ;) And no, if you are under some delusion that it is necessary for me to back this up and earn your good graces or something, then let me tell you that the first requisite is basic politeness and not working yourself up and lashing out at others. Maybe-just maybe-the other person is right
And it starts. Fuck that.https://hongkongfp.com/2021/07/19/pro-beijing-lawmaker-claims-hit-hong-kong-tv-show-featuring-same-sex-romance-violates-chinas-national-security-law/?fbclid=IwAR17yQQuuaV2-pKzQb77Jue6RxFqa0gMU5Tl2AnS1CGA6F71KJsWQcMPRIk

I know they'll pull it off and maybe win an oscar on the way too XD
Trust me, it wears off after a while, but the pain is still real :/
