The reason why this and shows like Honey Sir were not banned in China is because these are shows with a small target demographic. Whether or not lgbt content is allowed in China depends on the medium through which being offered and who's actually consuming it.
These are shows are lgbt shows, not bl or danmei directed at the larger fujoshi populace. These attract lesser attention and are independently created by small productions.

Some points I want to clear up

Yes they do have a happy ending. At the end of the story they're not shown married or on a relationship but the way they smile at each other makes it certain that they will get their happy ending

A pretty mediocre production, there were two moments I felt seriously hyped during episode 3:
First, when Phob sent that message to Eak accidentally
Second, when the the younger dude of the third couple (the engineering printing couple) said: Your lips are good at scolding, I'm wondering whether they are food at something else

I watched the 3rd episode on 2× speed and skipped thrice. Also, when I don't remember the names of the characters that speaks volumes about how I feel about the shoe because I normally remember names pretty well

The way I look at it, authors like Priest are financially supported when their works are adapted as dramas, in turn allowing them to contribute more to lgbt books online
As an Indian, I've seen censorship even of rape abuse of real life experiences which have been represented in media but these were (thankfully) eventually ruled out by the court. The representation does bother me, but I suppose they're just doing as much as they can
