My Country The new age for sure, been ages since a Korean historical drama hooked me like this, a 10/10 for me, and looking at other forums it garnered lots of good reviews too.
watched 10 (and not all got good scores either) and the others either not interested or dropped.
Mine are (don't even have 25 haha) -
My country The new age, Dong Yi, Sungkyunkwan scandal, Gye Baek, The princess' man, Faith, The king's daughter Soo Baek Hyang, Cruel city, Empress Ki, Secret, Moon lovers Scarlet heart ryeo, Thirty but seventeen
Agree. What about drinking water?? They always take them out from the refrigerator and drink?? Is it a common…
I'm from Malta, country in Europe, it's quite norm here to buy bottled water and thus drinking it from the fridge in summer. The water quality isn't that good so one invests in a water filtering system, buy filtering jugs or just bottled water.
Everything in this article is so true. I can't stand the going to bed in the working clothes, yuck, the smell and all the outside dirt. The IV one, I've had it a couple of times when in hospital, I was even afraid to move my arm, let alone yank it out.
Let's not forget the - 1. the famous running scene - TAKE THE CAR take the car, IT'S RIGHT THERE!!! 2. the turning around in the car in a busy street and no one honks or give the finger haha 3. he always manages to find her, even without her telling him where she's at (it happens almost as much as the one where they miss each other) 4. flashbacks of him/her of when they were 7 yrs old and spent only an hour together BUT 20 years later and they recognize each other and SOULMATE yay
What about Wei Ying Luo from Story of Yanxi Palace? She's so smart and always ends up back on her feet, nothing stops her.
Dong Yi - Dong Yi Seung Nyang - Empress Ki The women from WWW Man Wol from the ongoing Hotel del Luna Yan Zhi - Rookie agent rouge Lady Mi Shil - Queen Seon Duk Feng Zhi Wei - The rise of phoenixes Chu Qiao - Princess agents
Please change his dp here. He doesn't seem to look anything like that now.
unfortunately they rejected my submit to change this teenage pic of his to a more adult one befitting a 26 yr old, even sent them the link to his instagram for them to see his photos. He doesn't look anything like this in his 2019 drama.
I had a difficult time finishing Fuyao half way thru, dropped it and then continued it, so wanted to like it. But Listening snow tower, I really liked it, the little quiet facial expressions from Yi Qing be it love/jealousy/anger. I wish the FL had more range in acting though. Also the side characters got me invested to see how their story would end.
I remember stumbling on mysoju and seeing the poster for Meteor Garden and getting a major crush on Vic Zhou. LOL thinking he was the main character, I hunted ebay to purchase the boxset, which I still have to this day.
I've watched 308 dramas, and 225 movies/dramas pre-2010 but the romantic ones which I gave 8.0 above are -
Pride, Coffee prince, Hello my teacher, Devil beside you, Soulmate, You're beautiful, Meteor garden/Hana yori dango, Stairway to heaven, Lovers in Paris, Save the last dance for me, My lovely Sam Soon, Goong, Lovers, Silence, What's up fox, Bad love, Shining inheritance.
I've watched all you mentioned except Kimi wa petto. For me Full house was a snoozefest and really boring.
I really enjoyed this article, made me smile due to the fond memories :)
I so understand EVERYTHING you wrote and how others made feel ashamed. It was 9 or 10 yrs ago, mentioned Queen Seon Duk to my workmates, they couldn't understand why I would watch CHINESE dramas what with them all looking the same and the subs and the weird language.
I remember showing You're beautiful and Goong to my nieces, they got hooked. Not long after I got a phone call from my sister that it was my fault they were watching those "ching chong" series instead of focusing on school.
I watch Turkish, German, French, I don't care, as long as story is good. I also listen to all music, my co-worker can't understand why I would love a song if I don't understand the lyrics -_-
Edit - I'm 42, grew up watching anime, still do, so don't know why it's a surprise that I moved on to watching the live action version :) :)
LNY where did you watch it? I'm only finding until ep 60. thanks
do you have the exact drama page? Nothing's coming up with the original title or the english name, and the majority of the 2018 CN dramas are in their native language, and there are a lot to check each one. thanks
Never heard this term before. I usually only watch the "light and fluffy" ones when I need a break. Hmm so something I've watched and liked would be Go Ho's Starry Night, The boy next door, Wednesday 3:30 PM and You drive me crazy, oh and My girl (2005), I remember smiling and giggling like an idiot haha. At the moment am on a binge watch of J-movies based on manga, which are in that genre as I need a break from Rise of Phoenixes.
