I'm really impressed with this one. It's a refreshing, well thought drama so far. The screenwriter and director are the same from the Reply series, of which I only watched 97, but here you can see some of their brillance even if the dramas are completely different. The mix between realistic and humorous is well ballanced, you can relate to the characters even if they are completely different from you.
Now after finishing this I'll watch the rest of the Reply series.
(also, this must be my fujoshi heart talking but the chemistry between PHS and JKH is driving me crazy. no wonder there's a bromance tag haha)
Haha I wonder if this will ever air...althought I don't like the original it would be interesting to see if the chinese version can transform this in something better.
The show is a fun mess so far, althought still a mess. There are moments it loses it's pacing and continuity and becomes something...I don't know...strange. Still I'm accompaining and waiting for more, which is a first for me, I usually only begin completed dramas.
I have to say that I'm really liking Seung Gi here, his character has a good balance between laughably evil, mischievious and plainly cute. Cha Seung Won is rather good as well, a lot OTT but still amusing.
And this may be an unpopular opinion, but I don't find Oh Yeon Seo's character weak at all. She's just...passive, recluse. She does have her moments of brillance, but also stupidity. Perhaps it's the writing, I would like some assertiveness. But we're only starting, we still have many episodes to see everybody developing. Or at least I hope so.
Also, I really like the OST :) They did just right
I was a kid and didn't have much access to internet, much less dramas. I guess if I knew about them back then I would be instantly addicted, much like the foreigne soap operas I watched haha I was always one to like series.
Read Anoko No Toriko, Honey, Kakegurui and Rainbow Days (yeah, I'm a shoujo fan, though Kakegurui is far from shoujo lol). Never was one to watch Jdramas, but I'm now curious to see those I read come to the screen.
It's summer where I live so these are basically summer dramas for me hehe
Okay, that was a terrible joke, I admit. But I'm really wanting to watch most of these. Btw, thanks because now I can add them to my PTW list without having to search :)
Kdramas got me into dramas and I’ve barely watched anything that isn’t a kdrama but I watched sotus last year…
If I remember...my very first BL drama was Make It Right (which I recommend, it's very good as well) and then I suddenly got addicted to watch BL asian dramas and movies. At first I only watched BL movies but then I moved to kdramas and cdramas because I kept craving for more and more. Now I'm addicted and proud of it.
Interesting choices!! I barely see any BL dramas in those articles, and it's so good it was one of your favorites. Watching BL thai dramas was what made me into asian dramas, so they were my first experience.
I don't know why, but something about such unlikeable sleezybags is good enough to keep me hooked. Kudos if they have a pretty face as well.
From the ones you mentioned I had the pleasure(or displeasure) of watching all. However, funnily enough I never completed any of these dramas except Cruel Romance.
I couldn't get past the first episode of Innocent Man and Madame Antoine. IM because I didn't quite like and also I was watching better dramas and never had the curiosity to come back. MA was the same reason plus I really hated the male lead from the beginning.
As for Kleun Cheewit and Sawan Biang, I watched for some episodes until I got bored. Seriously, something about lakorns that make me easily bored with them, mainly because all I can see is abuse, abuse, abuse then some "love". I have to give some kudos though, because at least I liked Jee.
I really liked this list. I've fallen in love with Taiwanese dramas when I first watched Autumn's Concerto. Most of these I plan to watch(btw, you made it a lot easier for me to put everything onmy PTW list)
I just missed the mention of Meteor Garden, the taiwanese version of Hana Yori Dango and all it's remakes. I watched it briefly and it's really different from the marjority of all HYD remakes and the original.
Strong Woman and My Secret Romance were the only ones I saw on your list lol
I agree 100% with you when you talk about STDBS. Seriously, you put all my thoughts into words. I enjoyed the drama, but I can't turn a blind eye to it's faults. The best parts were the rom-com focused scenes, and the chemistry the actors had was incredible, however the show wavered whenever shifting to a more serious tone, without finding a good balance. In a more light note though, I fell in love with Park Bo Young and literally started to watch all her works.
In regard to My Secret Romance...well, it was good on the first episodes then started to decline and became too draggy. However, as I kind of came prepared to the party, I wasn't expecting more than some mindless fluff, which defines this show completely because everything else is a poor usage of overrated clichés. Also, having some great eye candy on my screen kept me going.
Not a masterpiece by any means. Not even that much memorable anyway(to be completely honest it has one too many similarities with the writer's previous work). But you know what? I liked.
It had some good chemistry between Ji Hyun (who is awesome btw) and Min Ho (who just got a little bit more of respect from me).
Well, I like time traveling but mainly when it has a fun twist or more of a plot other than just time travel. And this one just so happens to be like that. Going go watch.

But 40 episodes may be too much

Great reviews by the way.
