Alright. Series is complete, though I found the finale a little bit useless. We learned nothing new and nothing special happened either.
Overall the series was OK, 8/10 for me. I liked the story but I agree with the people saying the love story was too rushed and I wasn't convinced by it. I saw Ken's "obsession" with Shake (he kept trying to involve him in things, kept calling him, etc.), but never felt attraction or anything like that. And I never felt anything other than friendship form Shake as well. But they are both new actors so I'll let that slide as, romance aside, they did a good job for their first gig.
I also like how the story ended - they couldn't be happy in their life, however they will be happy forever after, though in the afterlife. Having said that, I understand the controversy around the "bury the gays" issue, and why this ending could be problematic for some.
I say good job everyone and WELL DONE on having the 1st BL series to air on national TV to send the message "END HOMOPHOBIA NOW" - *hand clap*
"a show that did Vlad dirty" umm what? It's seems a low-key attack on Karl not being ready to be out. Karl's situation…
Yes you are right, society's reaction and behaviour towards the LGBTQIA+ community needs to shift more. Changes are visible in some places, and things are definitely not the way they were, say 20 years ago, but there is still so much more that can be done. And I hope shows like GSP can contribute to such shifts :-) And yep I'll be with you manifesting a happy ending for both Karl and Vlad in season 2 ;-)
Wow. Great first episode, which really took me by surprise... Tough topics addressed from the get go and handled artfully I must say. Really excited about this series which I feel (and hope) might not be your typical BL - So far I recommend everyone to give it a try.
Episode 7 was the best so far. I could have done with a much shorter cut of the song at the beginning, but at least the singing was much better than what we've heard so far. Everything was much better in fact: the filming , the scripting and even the acting (and from everyone, Rico included). A little disappointed that Aiden is still not brave enough to face reality, although I definitely know that these things takes time. I'm not sure how I feel about Danny letting Aiden do all this flirting and behaving like they're dating without confronting him, although it might be because he's letting him slowly get "there", I don't know. He might also just be so in love that he's OK with the way Aiden wants to be and do with him. All in all, I liked this episode a lot and I'm hoping we at least get a happy ending for this series - I can't wait for the finale!

I think you got me wrong. There definitely was no "low-key attack on Karl". Not at all. What I meant by "a show that did Vlad so dirty" was simply a show that didn't give Vlad the "happy" ending he deserved. Vlad suffered a lot ever since he realised he was gay from a very young age, and up until his very recent breakup. And like I said "Vlad deserved to be happily in love for a change." Nothing to do with Karl at all. True, Karl didn't do Vlad wrong, but I still argue that the show did. However, I do understand why the creators decided to go that direction and have this type of ending and, like I said, "I respect that. And made my peace with it."
The show's ending left me sad when I expected to be overwhelmed with joy since Episode 1 to 7 were just plain exquisite. I wanted to give this a 10, but I just can't give a 10 to a show that did Vlad so dirty. Vlad deserved to be happily in love for a change.
Having said all that, I understand that this series was not really created to "solely" entertain but most probably to tell a story, which even I can feel was very important to tell. This clearly feels much bigger than all the escapists that wanted a fairy tale ending that gives butterflies in the stomach - and it was clearly not intended for them either, otherwise the story would not have been written that way. And I respect that. And made my peace with it.
I remember reading a comment on YouTube, can't remember for which BL show, where the person said "Most BL watching people don't realise that THIS is the reality for the majority of us - we usually don't get the guy. We sometimes don't even get to tell them how we feel" I felt a tug then, but it hit pretty hard here. Yes, it's slightly different here - they got to tell the guy how they felt - but yet we saw the harsh reality that NOT all love stories go "you meet, you fall in love, and you ride off into the sunset"...
A big kudos and thank you to the writer, cast, production team and everyone involved in this truly CLASSIC show - Fantastic job! Looking forward to what's coming next :-)
Based on the synopsis, Ben and Jim will not end up together. So, here's my theory: Olan is actually also a Jim.…
Man... I've never paid attention to the synopsis, and now that you've highlighted it, I noticed the last words of it I am now stressed about the last episode! I swear if they end this in a "Jim broke it off with Ben because of a misunderstanding" storyline, I'll give this the worst rating ever.
Episode 11 was the best episode so far. Everyone is with who they wanted to be and we finally got a kiss. Lots of emotions at the end there (I screamed, ngl) and I'm so excited about the finale now. Can't wait for one whole week, especially after seeing that preview! >.<
Are you being held prisoner somewhere and forced to watch terrible BLs? If you need rescue, give some sort of…
Ha ha - I have to say my journey through My Day was an interesting one... Same as with the series mentioned above, I dropped after a few minutes into the 1st episode. Then weeks later I saw a comment about the end scene of episode 8 and I got intrigued, and then pulled back in (that scene is one of the most beautiful scenes, from all the shows I've ever watched). And then I back tracked from there. I finished it because I wanted to know how it ended for them (I'm too curious sometimes ^^') But long story short, yes it had some cringy parts and some very questionable behaviours from some of the characters, but it definitely wasn't that bad. In fact, I don't regret going back to it.

I really feel for you because Swap Test is probably the worst thing I ever laid my eyes on, and 90 days is a close second, both Pinoy. I'm absolutely not saying that Pinoy BL are terrible, far from it, but knowing that "have to" go through such shows from start to finish makes me feel so bad for you. We can at least choose what we continue to watch and what to drop and never go back to.
Not outstanding but decent. It keeps you interested enough that you want to watch the next episode, but you keep wanting for more as well - more story to bite in and more importantly more chemistry. The pace is slow as well - we're half way through (already?) and nothing much has happened yet. From Ep3's preview, it seems things will get spicier from the next episode so I keep hoping that this show will not leave a us with a sour taste in our mouths (all puns intended :-P )
Series now completed and I am upset and mad. There is only one thing I hope we will all take from this, which I will address at the end of my (long) comment.
I am upset because I really wanted to like this. I'm upset because a lot of people effort and energy went into this, only to give this very unsatisfactory end result. Upset because we can tell that all the creators and production really had good intentions in the story they wanted to tell, but they failed to deliver something enjoyable and/or memorable (or some might argue that this would be memorable, but for all the wrongs reasons).
I'm MAD that the writer wrote the story they way he did. Really mad. Greg is such a despicable and shameless character, I almost feel sick to my stomach and Patrick? Pretty much as despicable, if not worse. I've never hated characters so much, and I sure hope the writer has not been inspired by real life people because that would be appalling. And I'm not even going to mention the ending because I am SO MAD, but didn't want to spoil anyone.
Now the ONE redeeming point of this series is Axel's story. I am glad that Axel story got told and I am sure there are plenty Axels out there and I want them all to watch this. I would love for them to become more aware of the red flags, and that those red flags are big tell-tell of "It is time to end this". Not to try even harder to try and fix something that is already not working. I would love for them to realise that their own well-being and happiness is the No. 1 priority, especially when in a relationship. If you are not happy with something, address it. And if you are still not in a place where your heart is content and at peace after that, then - again - it is time to END this.
I am not trying to be patronising or anything, it just saddens me to see people being miserable when in some relationships, but claiming that "Seeing the other happy makes me happy" or "I just love them so much". If the person you love is also the person who makes you cry, then you deserve to go look for someone else to love - someone who will love you back and who will make you heart smile and soar. That person is out there - just keep looking until you find them. It's not easy, it's a very lonely place to be, especially if you've been looking for a very long time... but I just don't think that settling for someone that hurts you but makes you happy once in while is worth it. "Your heart is precious, treasure it." This is what I have decided to take from this series, whether or not it was the message the creators wanted to send.
OK... I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. It was just OK. I only watched until the end because of Kane, although Soda did redeem himself at the 11th hour. I'm glad I discovered Cheng Chang Fan through this though and I hope to see him in another, better scripted drama and with more experienced actors.
Is this series purposely making us dislike Jim and instead ship Ben with Olan? Because I don't like Jim at all.…
100% agree with you. But I think that maybe Jim didn't do things right by Yana because he feared he could lose Ben that night if he said yes to Olan. And probably rightly so, because one could tell that Ben was really warming up to Olan and THAT confession was so beautifully romantic that he really could have said yes. Hopefully he squares things up with Yana next week. And I am the same re. Ron Angeles. I saw glimpses of him in Oh Mando and I keep waiting to see him again thinking "I want more, I want more!" Really hope he gets that Lead role soon, and after his performance here he might just get it! :-D
Gameboys (Filipino)Until We Meet Again (Thai)History 3: Trapped (Taiwanese)Where Your Eyes Linger (Korean)These…
Quite a list ^^ I'm actually surprised you listed pretty much all the HIStory apart from HIStory 2: Crossing the line, which is my favorite of them all. I rewatch it often and I highly recommend :-)
I was seriously ready for some waterworks (i.e., my own) when Tul first saw Hin in the kitchen ... then when Tul…
I didn't know that, thanks for highlighting this. And I agree with you, even though Meen is very handsome (and makes a very good looking couple with Hin), a more experienced actor should have been chosen to play Tul.
Overall the series was OK, 8/10 for me.
