Bible explaining physics for no reaason to uninterested people is my spirit animal. Once I decided to explain a problem of quantum mechanics during an aperitif with live music.
I hope you don't mind me repeating a comment I made earlier about this, cause it's actually a Japanese drama "problem".…
There are two opposite side of Japanese tv series. Tv series about cheating and/or relationship that are somehow kinky, In which they show many sexual scenes or kinky moments. Often they are dramatic. Or you have cute happy relationship with almost no kiss and of course no sex. I think they have big problems with sexuality if the they think that cute and standard relationship involve no sex and no kissing and sex is involved only in relationship that starts or end in a bad/over the top way...
the polaroid were to show that they were close and did like each other in the beginning before everything went…
It's not a plot twist but they don't make sense because they don't fit into the timing... so what is the point in using polaroids if a) they don't fit in the timing of the ""relationship"" b)they create questions that will never have an answer? for me that scene without any explanation is simply poor writing. Of course they change coupling, but I'm starting to feel that they didn't change much the story with the new coupling and that's one of the reasons for plotholes. The time limit for me is not a justification, there were many scenes without any particular meaning, a little bit of time could have been spared to explain things. Actually I probably would have preferred if there were not a proper love confession or the kiss and they kept developing things slowly. Kim could have saved Chay as a friend, Chay could have been angry anyway after discovering the reason Kim decided to give him guitar lessons, Kim could regret anyway and start to understand his own feelings after their fight and if they really really wanted to put the polaroids they could have been without anything similar to a love confession as memento of their time together making music. I liked the couple but to me already after Kim coming to Chay house and asking for a love song they messed up.

But there is no point in showing that plotwise, I already felt that there was a connection between them without that. Also because checking the timing of everything those polaroid could have been taken or before Chay confession (but it would be wierd because in the polaroids there is already some kind of confession) or after the abductiond and before the discovery of whom Kim his (and also that doesn't make much sense because Chay was awake and walking while Kim saved him and it's also strange that no questions where asked by Kinn etc.) Barcode did a great job, but if you watch one of the BTS he was really stressed and he was crying, I think it's pretty normal for your first role in an important production to be anxious and to do some mistakes, but anyway my point is not only on Barcode. Jeff and Gameplay having already acted together are probably more confortable with each other and also Gameplay is 28 and used to much more mature roles so maybe in the original idea their relationship would have been developed more... I'm not complaining about Barcode, I actually like more his acting than Jeff acting, but I'm starting to think that the plotholes and lack of a proper relationship developement is due to the fact that the production hasn't been able to recalibrate the story on Barcode's Chay that is obviously different from Gameplay's Chay...
why everybody think that Chay will be the bottom? was it specified in the novel? why there should always be a bottom and a top? can we have a switch couple? End of my TED talk
I knew that there would not be a KimChay side story. What I really hope now is to see some memories of their relationship in a second season or developed in a miniseries. Random thoughts: Why showing us the polaroid if showing us more of their relationship wasn't taken into consideration? They could have simply shown Kim watching the guitar pick and crying while playing his guitar. Those polaroids makes sense only as a preview. Another option could be that, since they where in a tight schedule and the scenes where not recorded in the right order, they changed their mind at some point or Barcode Porchay scenes took much more time that they should to record so they had to cut them from the plot. (It could also be that while putting together the tv series they changed their mind). Maybe some cutting of their parts was also due to the fact that the original plot was supposed to be interpreted by Gameplay? don't know.
There's nothing more asexual than chaos.
