Wow I finished this drama, why I recommend it? 1) No annoying female-leads! 2) Wang Duo's role was a masterpiece... 3) So good, fast-paced action with plot twist, the more into story the better it is. 4) Nice visuals, they spent good amount money for production and it pleases the eye. 5) Lang Jue and Mowen, well I felt more chemistry between them then LJ and ZP. (ZP and Emperor! :D )

I think during the whole story Zhang Ping tried to be always rightous ( it could bring harm) , but he learnt that sometimes we have to chose something what brings lesser evil. Now lie meant saving peoples life. But still Lan Jue's dad name was cleared, idk how thats possible if they hid truth.

Yes, when watching drama I also felt it's something more going on between Peizhi and Mowen + Zhang Ping and emperor. But too bad the second couple don't interact like that anymore. I wonder if they had cut scenes. If they did I am really worried for other, unrelased dramas, it's very sad.
It's really cool but I cannot watch it well because of the female lead. I know in general, in other dramas they have often same traits like being childish, naive, brave, pure and all the time need to be saved by male . But here it's so cringe to watch (the way she is talking, walking, running, behaving) I will give it a try because I saw an amazing scene with Donfang on instagram. I hope chinese industry can change it. For example female lead like in korean drama Empress Ki, cold and independent. I mean that women can have many different characteristics. That is why I prefer bl, it feels more mature?. Like The Untamed or Wuliang. Leads are equal and "strong". Of course I don't like extremes (for example making one of male lead extremly vulnerable with typical girlish traits like in case of fl in dramas). I hope no one feels offended by this comment I know everyone has a different taste :D

Actually anything related to chinese industry cannot be true or false, there is lots of rumors but I think it might be real now because bl dramas bring lots of money and fame to chinese movie branch. If they want to compete with korean or japanese dramas. I dont find other dramas as famous as The Untamed or Woh

I hope not! I heared that director wanted to hire Chen Arthur and Luo Yunxi from the begining, he saw fan-made version of 2ha with those actors. Shi Mei being a woman means that Mo Ran is "hetero" so it's easier to avoid problems with censorship and authorities are happy. I think it was the only solution to cheat the system and show relationship between two males. Also it's really expensive drama I don't think they would risk changing action that much because fans would be unhappy.

Original novel is BL but since censorship tendency in China they couldn't show it. There are only hints. Anyway story is really good I am sure you will like it!
