Underhyped. I like it and think it deserves more recognition. Good acting and great chemistry but lacks intimacy and that doesn't necessarily refer to kissing but a lack of intimacy in general. A warm, meaningful and slow romantic hug or any other physical romantic gesture would've portrayed and enhnced their feelings just fine.
So sweet and wholesome. It's been a very long time since I've last seen such a well-made BL drama. Great acting, perfect chemistry, beautiful sceneries... couldn't ask for more (I just wish for a second season ).
The "supposedly main" couple (Lee Hyeon & Kim An) was dry AF and had zero chemistry. Their relationship felt awkward and forced til the very end. Their backstory was confusing, vague, boring, and didn't make much sense. As viewers, we were kept in the dark til like the 7th episode and still didn't get a good explanation as to WTH happened with Kim An and his whole ambiguous accident.
MEANWHILE, the second couple (Maru & Minu) literally carried the whole drama. They were so cute. I loved them so much. Good acting and nice simple plot.
A couple of months ago I've heard about this drama before its release and decided to read the novel in advance. I got bored after chapter 20 or something and dropped it and decided to wait for the drama instead after it finishes airing.
A few weeks back I picked up the novel again and decided to give it another chance and it indeed turned out to be AMAZING!
A few days ago I FINALLY decided to watch the drama (and before anyone comes for my neck) it's not as I expected to be honest. I mean it's NOT bad like at all. I LIKE it but it's a let down. The novel is WAY MORE enjoyable.
I'M SORRY but the actors look old (especially SW) and they ARE old. Like can we please stop casting 30 year old people as 16~17 year old teenagers? Early twenties would've been a bit more acceptable. Nonetheless, the actors did a good job.
Now, what's up with all these, let me say UNNECESSARY, alterations and diversions? The SW I know from the novel would've never ever kissed JT because of a stupid truth or dare game in the early chapters like what happened in the 2nd episode or something and JT, taking his standoffish personality into consideration, would've never ever just accept being kissed for even a second let alone TEN.
The sports day penalty of stripping naked and taking a lap around the field took me OUT. Dude... JT would have NEVER done that even if his life depended on it. Bro was too embarrassed to wear a stupid t-shirt, you CAN'T convince he'd ever approve of this.
And don't even get me started on Zhao Xi and Lin BeiTing... They're literal highschool sweethearts and the makers decided to ruin the whole backstory. I literally skipped and sped their scenes + kinda bad acting.
The build up was way smoother in the novel. All the cut scenes created plot holes in my mind which lead to a not-so-smooth dramatic transitions which made me feel that the drama lacks a little bit of coherence.
I could go on and on forever but maybe JUST MAYBE it would've been better to watch the drama BEFORE reading the novel because my brain is involuntarily doing all these comparisons and criticism and I can't regard the drama as a standalone project that has nothing to do with the original novel I JUST CAN'T.
I guess it's the screenwriter and the director's fault. It would've been way better to stick to the novel as much as they could and make alterations that ACTUALLY MAKE SENSE in relation to the characters profiles.
Within the BL industry, this is considered GOLD and definitely a step forward towards professionally-made, full-length, properly-budgeted BL dramas. But if we're being a bit too honest, it still has a few flaws here and there.
(I'm not here to start a war, I'm just stating my opinions)
Now after watching the uncut version of episode 5, I see that the 'S' in DaeYeong stands for 'Self-restraint' lmao my boy decided after like the 4th or 5th kiss that this is enough cheating for the day. I wouldn't be surprised if Jeongha decides to cheat as well next episode or something because that's literally the plot
It's a drama made with love indeed. Sweet and simple but not special to be fair. I'm also not a fan of love triangles, so it made it less likable to me.
My, aren't you the self-righteous Church Lady! lolIf you're so offended, stop watching.
Why are you being so rude for no reason? I'm talking about the repetitive plot that I got bored of watching. If you're so triggered by my comments, ignore them.
Happy Merry Ending. Pretty much self-explanatory. It does have a happy ending but that's it, nothing else happened. Not much to remember. The progression of the storyline didn't make sense. The MLs didn't talk enough to each other and didn't express much emotion other than anxiety. Overall, it's mediocre
I actually feel so bad for MinJi. DaeYeong just brutally told her the truth and she was so shocked (justified) she decided to break off their friendship of 10 years (again justified) and no one decided to run after her to apologize or something?! You BOTH literally cheated on her! JeongHa just stood there and 10 seconds later he is in bed making out with DaeYeong?! Dude? LMAO What is this farce! Don't let the make out scenes confuse you, this is so rediculous..
MEANWHILE, the second couple (Maru & Minu) literally carried the whole drama. They were so cute. I loved them so much. Good acting and nice simple plot.
The third couple was unnecessary.
Overall, not bad.
