I probably watched it for the same reason..I liked the ML and as is my customary behavior I might have been stalking him from somewhere I can't remember..

For it to be your first drama I will give it respect..I have a first drama with a 7.5 rating but if it was a human I would marry it for the love I have for it..so I get you but Ren JiaLun..I see you buddy

This sounds like "Hometown Cha Cha Cha" and "Welcome to Samdar-li" on steroids..

As a lover of all things hometown, this has always been on my radar, haven't gotten to it yet but there is hope.

Once again rest story telling..makes the reader feel like they reading the novel adaptation of the drama. I don't even know if there is one.

I know sometimes I watch a drama and I feel like it deserves better but 8.7-8.8 is a bit stretchy

As a self-proclaimed certified noona romance lover, this one was right up my alley. I really appreciated that the cases were fewer and more intertwined, which worked perfectly for an 18-episode run.

This was only my second Lee Jong Suk drama after Doctor Stranger, and now I fully understand why he has such a loyal following. He’s a stellar actor, he doesn’t just deliver lines; his whole body acts with him, and you feel it in every scene.

I’d definitely recommend this one to anyone who loves noona romances or law tropes. And don’t let the 2013 release date fool,it is well done and in HD.

As I was reading this review, I kept pausing because the memory of some absolutely brain-cell-killer scenes would just flash in my mind. This was the first one out of the nine I’ve already binged, and for a minute, I felt like I was peeking through a keyhole, except I’d somehow missed MLs with that kind of aura so electric you could barbecue with it. And Ke Chun? His character was so gloriously over-the-top that I couldn’t help but chuckle every time he pulled another outrageous stunt. Low-key, he gave me Park Seo Joon vibes in WWWSK

As you said, these are perfect little time-killers, ideal for those endless bank queues (seriously, bank queues must be universal) when you don’t have the energy for a two-hour movie or a full drama episode

If you are in social media..it's a given, Weibo is like X, it's not a place you want to be all the times as non Chinese..so I followed my top actors/actresses when I joined ,scrolled few posts and that was it..I wouldn't say it's to follow their lives..I almost lost the account cos it was dormant .. 😂

Normally before I step into a drama I have done plenty of research,and the few I drop is because of my stubborness.

I might stay if it's an actor I like and the acting is good and fire chemistry even if the story is all over Am a sucker for a good cinematography and production so that can only make me stick around if it's not a 40+ eps

I don't know I decide very quick if this will be a ride or die by minute 25 Into the episode..then I come and read comments and reviews then realise I was right to drop it . except shows like Goblin where you try to push but then..yeah

It's worse when they show characters as children..I just binge watched a J-drama " Kimi Wa Petto" the ML is 20 and the FL is 30.. then there were scenes whee the FL reached him in the park when he was 10..yep even as a certified noona romance expert..I felt something off..

I follow Zhang on Weibo and that's where you see actors personality out of acting..most Chinese actors are really active there..And you are right he seems grounded even in his acting.

Maybe I have beef with high school/college tropes..I seem to drop and avoid many.
I think for me 10 year gap is my limit on older female/ younger male,12 if I switch off one Braincell.For male I have no issue cos it's a normal thing.

As a person who observes patterns and behaviours,I have come to a conclusion that female leads in Kdrama are written either evil or indifferent..I can't speak about a culture that is not mine but I wouldn't want someone who is from Korean to explain to me this phenomenon..An ML will spend 10 episodes chasing a female lead and she will spend 12 saying No .
