I get your point that their relationship is great, they are perfect to each other. But my point is that is too perfect, like there is no drama, nothing for the story to develop so I thought that the webtoon was badly written, also it had too many story skips that I didn't even know how old Yumi was in the last arc lol

But, anyway I think it's the way the story was written that I didn't like, maybe if Yumi got married in the beginning of the arc, then the whole arc was a slice of life about their marriage life together it would have been better. But I'm going to wait for the drama, they don't need to follow closely the same scenes in the webtoon since it's not an anime.

How different is this story from the webtoon? I just finished reading the webtoon and hated the ending, it felt like fl and ml weren't the protagonists of the history at all (??) I get the they actually consumed their marriage and had 2 kids, but everyone pretended that they died wth lol The crown prince and his bitchy mom own in the end (she was crowned empress even though she died at the same died, and she was a bitch cause she killed her own sister) and the crown prince ended up the emperor (funny how it took 18 years, and I thought that the emperor was sick too lol).

Anyway, there is also hint to a sequel with Ming Yue and the prince telling their kids that they're royalty, but the sequel wasn't translated (I didn't want to read it anyway). But, I have read some webtoons that I didn't like it and watched the drama and like it so I want to know how different it is from the webtoon? No spoilers, please :>

How many I didn't know about this lol I read the webtoon years ago, but they somehow changed "generic European royalty' to Ancient Korea (it probably would be troublesome for them to make everyone wear blonde wigs since everyone is blonde in the story, except the fl). I'm going to watch it anyway though.

Actually Babi is a guy that like woman in love, he didn't loved Yumi, he loved that she was in love with Woong at the time (there is even a debate if his girlfriend wanted to made up with him and he broke up with her). Then when he saw the other girl, he quickly put Yumi aside for her. The drama made him look like a good guy, but he really is a jerk to the core, just read the webtoon and check to yourself.

She had long hair in the webtoon, there were a whole arc of she her cells fighting (her long hair cell and the short hair cells, the short hair cells locked the long hair cell into a tower lol I don't remember all the story but the long hair cell won in the end)

EDIT: I watched the teaser now, I didn't see her hair properly on the poster, and girl, wth is wrong with her hair? They made she look older on purpose? 35 isn't even that old, but it looks like she is in her 50s 😭 😭 wth, not even my mom would style her hair like that and she is 63 lol I'm not south korean though.

I liked him, he didn't want to make Yumi suffer the way he was suffering to make his company work. But let's not forget that Yumi broke up with him out of a whim, of that stupid ball gimmick that the webtoon author made up, while she dated Babi twice even though he is a jerk and he cheated on her.

I love Yumi <3 But Sunrok is the most bland male lead ever. I don't know how many people here watch South America's novelas because in novelas the author literally summon a random person in the last episode so the singles wouldn't be single in the ending. And that is what Sunrok is to me, just a random guy pulled on the last minute to marry Yumi, okay that he loves her (and he isn't a cheater like Babi, that jerk) but their relationship is just meh, also the villain in this arc is also meh (she is just to fill the villain position but she is useless).

Anyway, I'm going to watch it, but they shouldn't have followed the story so close like that. True Beauty is radical different from the webtoon and it was a success (I love it btw, while the webtoon was just a 5/10). The webtoon author don't know how to write stories, he ruined the webtoon with his decisions and the drama director is doing the same thing.

I was reading the webtoon, and on mangaupdates I saw the tag "adapted to drama", then I searched frantically for this series but couldn't find it. Understandable they don't list it on anilist, but I even searched for the original name and couldn't find it (I only found the anime adaptation so I thought that someone added the tag by mistake btw), then I gave up. Until they added a poster for this series on the webtoon --" Thanks for the scanlators to add that there, curses to the drama director to add a completely different name for the series lol

I think that the synopsis should state that it's a FMV game and not a drama series, since there is a lot of people asking in the comments section. I get that there is videos and stuff, but still isn't a drama lol

I liked this way more I have expected, I read the webtoon but didn't like it much (the webtoon was fine, it started good with the comedy but it ended up being too much drama with the kidnapping and stuff that kinda ruined the story for me and I had to drag myself to finish, the art isn't great too which is standard for a webtoon lol).

But this drama is really good, I didn't like only the Gwi Nian (or whatever his name was lol) because he was so annoying and anyway, having only one suit is being slob and not economical (unless he washed his suit everyday, which I doubt, he would be smelly as hell). Manager Bong because she was really weird and idk if her weird faces were supposed to be funny (mostly of the time it looked like she was having a stroke rlly LOL), but when she got together with Secretary Yang they were too funny so her character was forgiven.

Also the guy that kept gossiping in work and the secretary that kept ruining everything that she did, someone like them in real life would get fired if they kept making mistakes/gossiping.

I liked that the series ended with the marriage, but I was hoping for an extra scene after credits with they both married and with kids.

I couldn't agree more, I didn't care much about Woong on the webtoon, but in the drama they looked so cute together (also Yumi was really bitchy to just decided on day that she had to break up with him bc she was fed up with him and she thought that it was difficult to break up with Babi when wanted to cheat on her and he was a jerk). But they changed the story a bit, in the webtoon Babi opened a restaurant and Daeun was a part timer there, so maybe they could change the story in the 3 season (the third guy that Yumi date was also so random that I barely remember his name anyway lol).

My opinion as webtoon reader, it isn't not as good as the drama. The pro is that Yumi much more cells in the webtoon, supporting characters also have their cells, and it has some spinoff couples. But, the author didn't know how to write a story.

After Yumi breaking up with Babi (because he was a jerk), she went to the whole thing changing her personality, then she saw him in a shop, got back together and after an infamous episode that showed Babi's rings as people that implied that he was going to propose to Yumi (the webtoon does this a lot, anthropomorphic things) , the story had a time skip and we didn't know how many years had passed, but Yumi was working in different place with longer hair and she ended her relationship with Babi off screen. I don't know Korean, so I read the English version, but I think that the author wanted to make Yumi and Babi a couple again, but the readers hated it because Babi is a jerk lol so he used the time skip and pretended that nothing happened. Also, the story gets really meh after the time skip, Yumi just get a guy and get married in the end, it also has a woman as a villain but she was also meh. It's great that Yumi got a happy end, but I think that the author rushed things just to finish it quickly.

Mostly of the stuff is similar to the drama too, Babi being a jerk included lol (he's also waaaay more jerk in the webtoon, since he admitted that he thought that Daeun was cute and he was flirting with her).

There is an anime adaptation of the manga (it's being released and I didn't know it was airing yet, but thanks to answering you now I know lol), I think that it is going to be more loyal to the story than the cdrama, but unfortunately it has no subs yet.

I get your point, I never watched a historical cdrama before and I am fairly new to watching dramas. I read the manga and I kinda expected to the plot to be loyal to it, but even so I gave the series a chance and realised it's not for me. But I agree that Changge's actress really look like her.

The cdrama isn't 100% loyal to the manga, in the manga Changge's mom acted cold towards her but she acted motherly worrying about her in the drama, also she died by eating a poisoned tea in the manga and wasn't murdered, Changge didn't bother by her mother's death that much and her motivating was more towards revenge for being betrayed by her uncle and having her family killed than that she loved her family, she even said that her father wasn't a saint at some point. The dramatic scenes are too much exaggerated and I am used to telenovelas, and the story seems to drag too much (it took 2 episodes of almost 2 hours to Changge to flee when in the manga it happened in the first chapter).

Just started watching it so I don't know if they changed the story but why Li Changge wasn't blond with green eyes? At the manhua it was so important how Li Changge didn't resemble her at all, but here is just (?) she could wear contacts and a wig and makeup on her eyebrows to look similar to the manhua and it looks like the male actors are wearing wigs anyway, so why not ? I searched into this, but only found people complaining at Li Changge's actress age, but she looked like her. I am the only one bothered with her mom? lol

Shitty movie, a guy used a cat's tail as a brush to write stuff off the floor, unforgivable. After the same guy teach the kid how to not being a little psychopath and torture animals, he torture his own cat (??) I was also worried that the cat looked liked he was being mistreated, he had scratches on his nose and a completely dirty fur. But I dropped after this scene. The director was also accused of rape and animal abuse in other movies. I am surprised no one talk about this here.

I don't know the actor, but I think you were too rash with the series, his acting was actually amazing and one of the charming points of this drama. If you have time, watch the anime and compare them.

I watched the anime a long time ago, and recently I read all the manga, and now the drama.

This drama is good (even though it's inconclusive). I appreciate the changes that they made, Stella is way less annoying (also thanks that they didn't make her huge in the live action, I always hated that), the series is way more wholesome and people actually treat Riku right instead of constantly mocking him LOL

Also the acting is excellent, specially the actors that portrayed Nino, the Chief and Hoshi were the best in this series.

The only problem is that unfortunately the Amazoness doesn't appear in this series, and she was one of my favourite characters (that is probably because she isn't from the Arakawa river)
