How do you define a despicable human being? A selfish, greedy person that expects something from you even though they are not entitled to anything. A person that causes intentional harm to others to cover up their crime. A person that plays the victim card even though they are the perpetrator of evil and disruption. Such a person is closer to you, like your brother or a best friend. The evil person is ZLQ. Very disappointing. May he rot in hell!

I think the writer is showing us the ills in our society and how children from a poor background can eventually lose everything if they are not careful. Just like Dr. Wu warned him not to be an opportunist but to focus on his education. His mentor told him he had also been in his (ZLQ's) shoes but he was more focused on his future. But, LQ is not like that. He wants things to happen more quickly instead. I'm very very disappointed in him. I understand why XX rejected him. She's more matured than he is and she's more progressive in her thinking. She wants a better future for her self and her future family. However, LQ's family situation would never allow them to live the life she wants. XX choose common sense over love. I'd have done the same if I was in her situation.
