In this situation, I still blame KS. Even though he chose to be a father to JD, The friend is reacting badly because he knew the beginning of the story. Other people won't do that but they will be angry at you for creating such a mess for yourself. At the end of day, even though he is trying to be both parents to the child, She needs so much attention that he can't provide for her. Take her grades, for example.
