I think Grandma knew what she was doing in leaving the hotel to Huan instead of Yao. Remember when they visited the new hotel in the mountains? Grandma used the hotel to describe her two grandkids' personalities. She also knows Yao's intentions towards the hotel and does not want that because she sees her staff there as a family. Grandma knew Huan would train the staff to be better and up to standard and make the place better, while Yao would let them go and change everything she loved about the hotel. So, giving Huan the hotel would be for both of them in the future because she knew Yao had fallen for Huan, and he was getting better socially because of her. Remember, Grandma said she loved them equally. Therefore, biological or non-biological factors have nothing to do with anything; it is a grandmother's love for her grandkids and their future. That's just my opinion.
