I haven't watched many that have long wrap-ups, & I have a short attention span, so I find (dir) Liu Tao's work (Blood of Youth, Destined) which has patterns of longer wrap-ups, & black V white set-ups, not for me. I always end up leaving 8 eps b4 the end as the ending is in sight & it can be predicted.

Here, they gave us an end BUT left off that little bit for you to mull over. For some, it's a no, & I would've liked another ep of wrap-up tbh. But it gets you thinking. Also, the story is not set up like a typical Xianxia, which is prob why I like it too.

They need diagrams🥴, but your explanations fit with how I see it too. They left it pretty open for other ideas too, depending on how you see the events.

TY for writing all those points! I feel that by TM not existing in the 3rd timeline, if there is an NXY it'll be without the 'Love Tribulation' curse and the TM showdown. So for MXL & XXC, it should be an obstacle-free timeline in that life...that's how I look at the end😅.

So true. His 4-year gap affected his resources, plus he doesn't have a 'background' in the C-ent. He is talented & intense with a unique 'fairy & devil' duality. I would love to see him play a demon or a grey Yandere ML.

But as 2ML, he's been memorable, & sometimes there are more opportunities to play complex/grey chars there as they're not restricted by 'values'. But agree, I'm hoping he gets good & interesting scripts now.

Hi✨. I agree about 'BR', I loved the whole crew. Like you, I can feel their creativity & intentions throughout, even with the low budget. The orig novel was a porno/erotica so WM basically slept her way thru her missions. I think the author who had no exp writing tame went a bit far in making WM suitable for the censors. The GZ char she kept the essence closer to the book, minus the sex/torture. Poss WM choosing to stay MAY be influenced by the fact they were hoping to do a part 2 at the time. The author wrote an epilogue where GZ met CA (me & @Klio talked about the ending on the 'BR' page).

Same, about ' Xiao Yao'. This time the dir has a budget, traffic stars, & it's on CCTV, which can restrict the decisions he can make. But because it's his orig screenplay, I'm excited and curious what his 2nd collab with WD will be like. Hopefully, it won't be a vanilla Xianxia.

I thought you watched 'YYM', I must've got you confused with someone else. He's quite diff here. He Shouye & the Master are: loving, devoted, seductive, & yandere (lol). & yes, about 'Hi 6'. I don't know what happened in the 2days between the recording. Maybe it was the LIVE he also did, but he was mobbed, even on his way home. I've never seen him look so stressed ever.

I feel they do it on purpose thinking it'll draw out angst & longing for the characters, so to make the end memorable. They succeed in getting ppl annoyed, I guess that makes it memorable too lol.

Yeah, they hardly ever give us that in C-dramas, maybe 1 ep, at most. It could've been worse. In 'Love GameiEF' in their end, we didn't see the main couple together, they had the ML off screen, he calls her, she looks, that's it😯.

Gjm has an ego & seems petty. When FOF wrapped most of the cast prepared long farewells that mentioned gjm. WD normally doesn't write much, so he wrote a line. Gjm went to his Weibo reminiscing the past. Poss because he wasn't happy with the 1 line reply, + some of his fans didn't give him the reaction he expected. Instead, they told him 'don't worry about including Duo, carry on with whatever you're doing', lol. He came back the next day with screenshots of his texts with WD shaming him for not giving a decent reaction. According to him he wrote a long flowery prose & got nothing back. Plus I think it was done to show the fans they're still talking. I feel it's wrong to make public screenshots of private messages if the other person isn't aware. It was weird of gjm to be bothered by what some fans said/or WD's reply. That was their exchange in public, I don't want to think what it's like in private.

I love sharing her write-up, it's one of the best I've seen on MDL🤭. I'm kinda part of his fandom if you count I'm on Weibo & signed into his 'supertalk' at times.

His colour was decided very recently, it's a light green/turquoise colour & the fandom name (if you haven't seen it yet) is 'Duo Bao/铎宝'. I think it's a homonym of his name into: 'Many Treasures' but it's also another homonym in ref to his mukbangs 'very full' lol.

The last 4 eps were crammed in. As well as having more ZBB Demon Lord, we could've done with another 2 eps to expand on the ending, their afterlives, & if TM reincarnates, as that affects how we imagine how the time loop works. Plus, have foreshadowing scenes of HT earlier.

Luckily there's a happy ending for the mains here, unlike in other dramas😅.

I get you. I was confused with the dynasties/ how they related to GZ too. On the 2nd viewing, I looked up Reddit & the MDL comments going way back to the time it aired, & the ep summaries on Baidu & Douban to get my head around it.

CA is not related to GZ directly. This was during the the LaterTang when the diff kingdoms ruled. GZ's kingdom is in power. CA's one was taken over by them & he was hidden with the horse groomer's family, & the 'edict' handed down to his mother/grandmother? was from Empress Wu from the earlier generation. She wanted to leave it to fate if her daughter's line would get the throne. The ppl CA gathered at the end was to fight GZ & another kingdom. But they alluded that when GZ intercepted CA on his way back to Gui Hua City, GZ figured he could 'kill 2 birds with 1 stone' by letting CA go back to help WM but also have him alliance up against another faction.

GZ weakened his father/enemy (the grand tutor guy) by breaking up his 'Blood Lotus Cult' as the Emperor felt threatened that he had power over thousands of ppl, so GZ 'killed 2 birds with 1 stone' by getting rid of the sect + father, the 2 wishes of his mother. It put him in favour of his Emperor brother.
There are others on here who know the story better, so they may add too.

'BR' is like Marmite, some love it, others hate it. The moment the animation, garish technicolour & film noir art direction appeared, plus the heavy bass of the instruments in the soundtrack, I was like 'What. Is. This'. But it's so true what you said about the under 7.9 club on MDL, it's become a 'thing' as another user said the same too😉.

'Xiao Yao' was a closed set. But I think the aesthetics won't be the same, as on 'BR' they were on a budget, so he called in favours from a green crew who experimented & did their thing. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Agree, about 'BlemF'. From the book & also the style of their last drama 'Heroes', they like puzzle-like thrillers with some violence thrown in😏. The author's book 'Brown Eyed Mystery' has a double meaning: brown eyes are the small spots in ceramics that make the firing imperfect. While the mystery is the disappearance. The production's title like you said = " literally the same meaning - double flaw?".

Bloody Romance is still one of my favourite Cdramas, even now. If you want to see WD's acting, for me this is the one. He brought Gongzi to life, & gave a dark, soulful & intense perf here. He'll have you going thru the emotions again. I also love BR's stunning film-like cinematography, set design, production, music, animation, & dark fairytale vibes. It's unique & not something I've seen done again yet.

I'm curious about 'Xiao Yao' as the producer/dir went onto acclaim with 'The knockout' & he got WD again for this drama, so I'm looking forward to their 2nd collab. & also 'Blemish Flaw', that one sounds wild.
