🤭🤭, I actually wonder why some felt he wasn't right for WZY. In 'TBL', he was that, & also a 'green tea' char.

Me too, tho the scenes as Wei Ping is not small. Because I unconventionally started from the middle (don't judge me😅), & I'm on chap 182 now. I would guess going by the book so far, he's WP for around 25% of the time.

But it'll create a good contrast when he reverts back to Wei Zhenyu later...

I think some ppl have confused the scenes. Both leaks should be Wei Ping, & he is the one with the special make-up & prosthetics. I'm guessing the one with the headband might be when he meets RJS's char with his story as a wandering monk to gain his trust, & get close to SQJ🤔.

I feel the production will still use another actor's face to show what the others see him as, but to be realistic, they will film WP like this. Which is diff as most actors appear as themselves in-between.

I was not expecting them to put prosthetics on WD for his Wei Ping disguise. I thought they'd use another actor to show the illusion... His CN fans are not happy rn, they're concerned he'll be scolded cause some people can't tell it's prosthetics and think he's a PS face😱.

I'm ok with it as it's temporary. Tho, I had to agree when someone said, 'like what's the point of this disguise if SQJ can still see it's him🤣.

None of us are 'health & safety' experts, but COMMON sense would tell you that wasn't enough😒. MY has leverage. Production needs DD well & safe to keep the project on time. RZS's apparently off sick atm, so that puts pressure on the schedule. The production should look after the remaining actors, & DD to prevent other issues etc.

You're right about gjm & writing. Basically 2 hrs was his limit here, & slo-mo was used to stretch it out. I dropped 'FOF' & had it on 2.0 speed, the best parts were the trailers...

I orig thought he was tip-toed when they did that shot. Then they panned out & he was hanging😯... I couldn't look anymore, especially when you see the micro mattress at the bottom, like, why? It can't cost much to add loads of big padding at least.

I don't want to scare you. But since I saw that, & knew WD had gone into make-up on the 17th & 18th May (they're not allowed to show the hair part), but he was on a long standby of 15 hrs...I started to have ptsd of Guo JM & his madcap work practices, & time management. I hope this dir/production is not gonna be like this, as it'll be nail-biting the whole way now. I hope DD's team are dealing with the safety issue seriously, as they'd be mad not to🙏🏻.

You're psychic, I was going to mess you today too😮. I heard about GYQ poss being LFY, so it's confirmed! But didn't know about Tong Menshi as Ziyi. From what I've seen ( don't know what he's acting's like), but I can imagine him as Zyi too. Looks like this production is goin for all tall actors lol.

I saw the poster 1st, & it looked good already. But it was the concept vid that made me stop 👀. I feel like if the production is in-tune with the ppl who made this clip, they'll be on another level...

So GYQ might be Ziyi, I wonder why they didn't list him. I agree about WD being complex, cold, & also ethereal.
I've got to King Wei (chap 152) & I can see WD here, he's described as 'cold & imposing'. While the earlier version was a gentle green tea, which I would never have imagined, until he did it so tragically on 'The Blossoming Love'.

The dynamics with the male chars are too funny. I really hope they don't tone it down. I want to see them as 'frenemies' as well. But in the book, it's not what I expected...it's got me side eyeing their love/hate thing🙃💨.

Wow, that's a lot. Are you saying DD went on this variety show and had a bad edit, and Wu's actions didn't help? The only thing I know about Wu is that he was rumoured to be going out with an older actress He Hongshan, and he was on Meteor Garden, too.

I will put my neck out & say I think he's playing Wei. I've read up to Ziyi in the book, & while I can imagine Duozi being Wei or Ziyi. & I can understand why others can't, as they prob haven't seen all his dramas, & him play a friendly green tea like he did with his 1st persona in 'The Blossoming Love'. BUT, I can't imagine Wu being Ziyi tho, I can picture him as the Wei Ping version of Wei Zhenyu ( I don't know what the latter 'King' or what the beginning version is like). The numbers do add up if it's him, either as Wei or Ziyi. And from what you told me, they prob knew there'll be push-back, so they kept him low profile. & that also explains why they gave Duo the 'special' title as Ziyi is like a 4th ML?🤔🥴.

God, so much goes on outside the dramaaaa. I agree, all the extra titles shouldn't have happened. We'll have to watch & see if it's just a clueless miss-step, & they get on with serious filming now. Also, I don't feel there will be another ceremony from the way they're acting with all the hyper secrecy going on now🤔. Hopefully, they don't do other extra stuff, as the story, from what I read so far, is good. If filmed well, it will be very diff from any other XX's.

Yes, WD is still with gjm😑. From what I've heard, they had a falling out (YYM time). Also, gjm is not invested in his talents working with other dirs, so he looks for + auditions outside, without their support. He gets called to do a guest in in-house dramas, even when he's not free. Like when he was on 'The Blossoming Love', it had to be done in the nights, so it was 24hr days between 2 sets, then most of it got cut out...

BTW: Is there something going on between Ceser Wu & DD?

I can't figure out if it was LQ & WD's ppl who wanted the extra titles. WD, I feel not, as his agency have kinda forgotten him, & he searches for scripts & auditions outside his company. I don't feel he has the standing to do that. If it was the production's idea, then they should've just kept it reg as it got the cast/fans off onto the wrong foot😑. Did they correct it on the main site? last I looked, there was no content on the official WB page?? Also I thought the cast list was only written like that on the wall at the boot & nowhere else?

From what I've read. SQJ has many 'acquaintances' with diff FM's who all have google eyes for him (some, it's respect). I'm guessing LQ won't be expanded much, as if they did, they probably wouldn't need the diff title as she'd be a straight-up FL🤔.

I saw some slating of RJS's appearance in the leaks. So harsh, he looked good, + I can imagine him as the Meng Heze perfectly.

Yeah, I'm surprised they got such clear shots considering they literally had a black cloth zipped up around the cars going into make-up.

The styling looks like production is serious about the char + settings, & not gone for tacky😁.

Hahaha you making laugh bad... anything's possible. I mean Cesar or Ye Shengjia could be Wei, & WD - Ziyi or Li Feiyuan. They haven't said anything definitive yet🤔.

I read up to chapter 114, & ZiYi's appeared & I can see why they think WD is right for him. I didn't start at chapter 1, so not sure what Wei is like at that end, but in the middle part, he's calm, kind & soft?

btw: saw the leaks! RJS & DD look good. The wigs look quality, they're actually getting decent hairlines that don't start like a Lego man. The Costume designer is 'hit or miss' to me, but from these leaks, they're following this producer/dir's other works that are more realistic & classy versus fluffy/ busy😍.

Xu Jizhou was also the dir/producer of a dark fantasy costume drama called "Bloody Romance", one of my faves. It was from his own company 'BlossomGood'. Hopefully he does a good one with this too...

This sounds like the 'Xiao Yao' production. They've chosen the- no leaks, no wrap vid, no completion pics, no trailer, no engagement... so we have no idea what it's gonna be like😑.

God, the amount of plotting that goes on just tires me out. I heard similar with LYTong. She stepped on (coincidentally) Li Qin's agent, who also manages Deng Lun. When he tried to push Jin Chen off a project, as she's Deng Lun's ex & he hated her. The production chose to let Li Qin go & brought in LYT. When the drama aired, the barrage of comments calling her 'cold body', plain/can't act etc, came from that period... which unfortunately has stuck to her even now.

So it seems like the DD 'diss' track was twisted so even to me who wasn't paying attn I got bits of dis info😒.

I will give the production the benefit of the doubt, as I don't think there's anything in it for them to do DD dirty. The drama is centred around him, so they must've wanted him as he is a massive part of this. I heard there is another opening ceremony on May 20th? Maybe it'll be more regular then🤔.
