This is actually the only Wang Duo drama she hasn't dropped😅! But happy she liked his performance. & despite the 1 issue, she did like 'Blemish Flaw', plus the other actors : )

ZJ was a hard role to play. WD said he was advised not to do it as he could get hate, plus it's not the type of role to gain him fans. But it must've meant a lot to him, as he rarely writes long good-byes (the 1 other was 'TLoNM' Shulin).

I love that even for the things we may not see on-screen he still does it for the chars. Like for 'The Blossoming Love', he said the breathing rate was diff for each of the 3 roles, etc. I hope he gets to continue with his orig intentions as an actor, & that good scripts find their way to him🌠🌠.

WD actually said something similar when they filmed that clip😋. Both ep 15/16 scenarios had him dumfounded lol.

As someone said, no matter what ZJ did, he would never be able to outplay rich girls like BXL & Juan Jie. Just wished there were more scenes of Juan Jie. Her scenes with early ZJ & the tense oppositional scenes with the latter him were so good. They kinda went from their meeting, & then he's with BXL .

Li De was one of the sane ppl (inc Tracey). While DHH was earnestly but unknowingly snitching on all of BXL's moves😯. Like you, he was seen at the hotpot restaurant all the time so I was beginning to suspect if he was 'real' at one point🤭.

Yes, Neo & WD go back a way too, they were in 'Inference Notes' in 2017. I'm looking forward to it as it's a 2nd collab with the Xu Jizhou. He was dir/producer of 'Bloody Romance'! I'm curious what he does this time round. Since 'BR' the dir blew up in CN with 'The Knockout'! WD plays an ambiguous/good char who's the leader of the Imperial Guards. So in addition to Tan Songyun, Zhao Liying will also be guesting as a villain.

'Against the Current' looks well made + interesting. TSY & LXY's vibes really match, I'll be checking it out too😻.

However a friend re-watched ep 15+16 & she had a point in that Li De already had BXL under investigation after the car report came back about the brakes. He goes to all these dinners with DHH to suss what BXL's planning, plus gets intel on what DHH finds on Lin Fang...So those dinners were prob free🤭.

I loved Maggie Huang in this role. Her micro expressions, eyes & her tears of hatred, she acted so well. & I also hope she takes on more edgier role too🥰👏🏻.

You noticed too🥺. Since 'TBL' the fandom has changed. There are some 'emotional' fans who are abit 'para' making demands on him & basically want more from him outside of the dramas. I heard them describing it as he provides 'emotional value' for them😯.

Loved your review on the show. I was told the book's ending is slightly diff, in that it's more in line with ep15's but she's still disabled & does her sentence at home. The author's ending also had elements of ep16's in that she's then morbidly killed 3yrs later during an earthquake when trapped at home. I love the drama ending . It's balanced so both outcomes are possibilities, it's down to us to guess here.

Same, I couldn't understand all but got some gist from the comments. WD really loves researching his chars, apparently one of the things he did was look into the body's responses to being harmed, etc.

Some where flooding the comments for him to do mukbangs again. He stopped when he saw it affecting the audience's view of his char in 'The league of Noblemen'. The barrage was full of 🧄🧄🧄refs (something he likes eating), so he stopped 3yrs ago. I don't think he should be pressured to do them. Some are into weird fetishes of needing to see him eat on cam😶.

When Da Hui Hui lays his hypothesis to BXL, I was not expecting that reveal, so good!! Ep 15's scenario for me was more the ideal/fantasy /satisfying route. However, as explained later there's a load of loop holes that could implicate others. Plus, a moments release would be a high personal price to pay.

Ep 16 is the realistic outcome. I feel the finale will have audience's going for either/or. Personally, I would never trade my freedom for someone I hated. I would get them back, & make them pay🙃. However, if I had a child & they were harmed, I could lose it. I hope the most I would do is GBH but to keep them alive to suffer in jail.

It's great we get to see more of Li De & the other cop, & there's closure for everyone, inc Tracey✨🤸🏻‍♀️. This drama has not been draggy, the last 4 eps went by so fast & I kinda miss it now. The ending could be viewed as: open or alternate, both get you thinking. I'm going with the alternate end...

Love the pacing, love the casts. For ppl coming later, this drama binge-watched would be perfect, as each eps leads straight to another. I written alot, but I'm gonna leave out the reversals so you can see them yourselves😅.

Wang Duo doesn't have a dedicated fandom on MDL. If he did it should've been the opposite😅. WD's not an idol actor, he's always played complex chars. From what I've seen his Chinese fans support the drama.

Someone said that even putting a drama on 'hold' or 'dropped', the algorithm will assign it a score. With a small vote pool, that can influence the rating.

& there's a kind of 2 tier system. Cause there's no traffic actors, the score will usually be lower as most will rate it realistically, with 8-9 being good, instead of the 10s.
