I had almost forgetten about this, but It randomly popped up on my homepage. I kinda got so weirded out that they upload separate videos for each language's subtitles, but anyway I'm still grateful that they're releasing the episodes now
It’s been months since Thunderstorm was announced, and since the series were revealed together, I thought that by now we would at least have a trailer and a release date.
Well ngl it was obvious that it's a low-budget production, but since the entire show was just a little over an hour long, it didn’t really bother me. Bromance was definetly a highlight. If we evaluate it as a bromance microdrama ,I’d say it was ahead of its competitors. I genuinely enjoyed watching it.
However, if you care more about wuxia, you may got disappointed. I can comfortably give something between 7-8 point to this. But just to be clear, I’m judging it against other short dramas, not against long, high-budget classics like The Untamed or WoH.
The number of Japanese series I couldn't watch due to the lack of access and some other reasons will eventuslly add up and become a reason for me to go and live there.
I don't know why I keep watching these... Love Sea was better or idk LITA was so bad that it messed up our standards. Anyway, I've loved Shoma so much ever since 25 in Akasaka so I just can't stop...
I'm a bromance fan too lol but I believe it is. I found an interesting edit of the two that gives me smth of the…
Thank you for taking your time and explainig it in such a clear way. To be honest I hardly could believe that a series could have 40 episodes without feeling that long. But I felt also the same while watching Spiealm (which was the first Chinese drama I watched after The Untaemd, which I've watched years ago). Even though I had already watched several episodes in a row, I really had to restrain myself from going on nonstop. I’m glad they're stand-alone.As you said, some characters appear across all of the series, and that really made me feel like they’d inevitably get attached somehow. Since it’s a universe I’m not used to, I might start with Blood River to let the bromance help keep me going. Even though I have no idea when I’ll actually watch them, instead of ignoring the shows altogether, I’ll at least add them to my plan-to-watch list. Again, thank you so much for your answer.
Also, it was nice for 15 min film but probably not something i'll rewatch or even remember.
