Other thoughts:

• Max Pasakorn said it recently in one of his shorts:
  "Thai entertainment is made for Thai audiences first"
  I think that's something that cannot be said often enough -- going by what I've seen in the last years here on MDL, whether it's comments, reviews and even posts here in feeds, many Western viewers still don't understand that.
  Thai TV culture has its own traditions, references, jokes, tropes, and ways of storytelling.
  (Yes, that includes sound effects in comedy)
  
  And no, they should NOT conform to YOUR taste.
  We Westerners are NOT the target audience.
  
  And that's as it should be.

• I sometimes got into arguments here, where I thought: Why don't you reply to what I've said? Didn't you read before replying? 
  And after happening across this post about the Three-Cueing-Method (which includes a link to a published article). It seems that this is taught in many US-American schools. 
  The people I've been so frustrated with? They can't read. They. Can't. Read. They guess. They have been taught to guess.
  To quote DoktorHobo: "That's appalling, but it doesn't seem like there's any point getting angry at the people harmed by it..." So, instead of being angry, I'd rather not meet these people at all.

About my reviews:

• I don't like it that I have to give star ratings if I want to post a review, so take them with a grain of salt, please.

• Since I have to rate everything, I try to rate titles within their genres -- e.g. Thai BLs will not be held to the same standard as Korean crime/mystery dramas; short films and low-budget web series cannot be compared to 50-episode-long C-Dramas.
  I also notice that I tend to rate more according to the question of "Did I like it?" -- and I am often very lenient.

• Obviously, everything is just my point of view. Things I find grating might be loved by you -- and vice versa.
