Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty. And the way how the present American society is embroiled in the wokism and PC and Cancel culture, it doesn't seems far that crazy people are going to be the one driving the narrative. And I pray America gets out of it with least damage. I mean the whole world saw how one orange haired man drove America in to a royal mess, I mean that Capitol Hill thing. Guns and violence in the sacred halls of democracy? And people still feel proud to say that they 'don't give a rat's ass about crazy people's opinions and Amen to that!'

You really know how to twist and turn the words. I never meant any of those things. I never implied thet LSK was weak or the fans own entertainers.
But yeah I feel like how fans support their idols even when they put out bad songs or films and make them a hit should make you realise how much fans adore them.
Anyway you are not going to stop criticising the Korean society because you want to vent your self-righteous anger which in itself is a laughable thing. And now I just don't want to chat about it with you anymore because you twist and turn the words of other person just like an orange haired joker we all know.

This is about culture not race. And no one's saying the west or anywhere else is perfect so what's your point?…
That's what we are objecting to. Not the whole country was against Lee Sun Kyu nor they thought that he was a culprit. Some bad eggs mixed with wrong brand of journalism might have led to the tragedy. SO why are you blaming whole Korean society. It so unfair. Its like, just because a school shooter lived in your locale you too are labeled and judged as a school shooter. Is it a rational behaviour?

I agree with you. Person have a right to privacy. But you should also remember that most of the Koreans were not on their keyboards typing away shit about the actor. It was some minor percentage of the population doing it. Regarding work culture, there is lot of stress due to hectic working hours. But you have to understand that the society of Korea is trying to get out of this. But aside from the so called 'toxic nature' of Korean society, there are few another factors like capitalist's chokehold on the Korean economy who demands such grueling hours, political apathy towards the problem as who will bell the cat? So what I want to say that although there were vicious news and comments, not all Korean people supported those things. So don't blame the nature of Korean society.
Commenting is fine but mislabeling entire society/country for few people's actions is wrong. Should I say all Americans are gun loving violent people who loves shooting school children? Wouldn't I be blaming innocent people too for few bad people's actions?

Dear fellow human being, you already have entered the pissing match. Only difference is me being a woman do it sitting while you do it standing.

You asked what are Koreans stereotyped as and I replied that Americans call Koreans, Chinese and Japanese as yellow people. When I said 'you' I was talking about the country you were representing. I didn't mean to point you out specifically. Because unlike some patriotic self-righteous Uncle SAM's nephews and nieces I don't go on and label whole country as racist. It just pissed me off as how all people outside of Korea were labelling it as toxic. Its so unfair.

That's what I am saying. Yeah there are toxic fans but blaming an entire country and labelling it as toxic is wrong. And to quote you back ' Do you understand the difference between those two concepts? If so, please stop writing nonsense.'

And btw, its not prominent percentage as you say. Its a minuscule percentage of people who affiliates with terrorism in that religion. So get your xenophobic brain right. As you may know New Zealand's ex Pm labelled the mosque shooter as terrorist. So by that case, prominent percentage of american kids are terrorists.

Yeah I am not inviting you so chill. But don't take a high road and go around bashing other country's citizens when you don't even know their values, cultures, problems and ground reality. Yeah Korea has suicide problem but it is not due to just insane fans or not giving personal space.
The S. Korea in itself is a small country with roughly 60million people. It follows that Korean society as a whole is a very homogeneous in nature. There is a sense of belonging which is absent in western countries with large areas and big population. So naturally they are brought up in principles and morals very different from those of westerners. I agree Lee Sun Kyu's suicide is a real tragedy as I too loved his acting and his charismatic personality. But from what I have seen many other Korean celebrities faced bigger public outrage than him. But still they persisted. SO ascribing it to Korean fans is wrong as they are the ones who made the stars what they are today. When you bask in the glory you should also be ready to survive the downfall.

Well the stereotyping phenomena started from your beloved big Uncle Sam. Ohh he is a muslim so he must be an terrorist, oh he is an yellow, they are rats infiltrating our home, ohh brown smelly Indian, they are stealing our jobs. And you should know what colour S. Koreans belongs to as you yourself have given that name, 'the yellow people'. So just look inside yourself and ask what right do you have to be so self-righteous and taunt others about how they are stereotyping.

Yeah the thread was about suicide but it got sidelined and different issues cropped up where self-righteous people took it upon themselves to write how S. Korea is a bad place to live. So it is what it is. And not just Iranis, almost more than half of the World calls USA a big bully, and those who don't are the other smaller bullies whose capitalist weapon industries thrives on the chaos and war in the world.

They were not sweeping generalisations:
The biggest culprit: The Europe- just look at the scramble for africa, Latin America's genocides, rape and plunder of India, Israel-Palestine issue, World War 1 and 2 and cold war.
Culprit no 2: USA- cold war, slavery, drug, destabilising south american countries' democracy, propping up dictators, destruction of Iraq, gave birth to Taliban and ISIS and many more.

Just go and look for the paparazzi culture in your neigbouring country and all those your punk ass rock band singers who used to frolic around with the teenage groupies and did god knows what things with them. Then go and introspect whether you are in any position to criticise other country or culture.
