Why do you think people are complaining about them "not jumping each other"? Did someone comment about that?
The first episode was badly done. It was. The importance of that goes back to the idea of "first impressions". The first episode generates interest in the series. Some will come back, hoping the first episode is not a foreshadowing of things to come. Others may forget about it altogether, because sex scenes aren't enough to keep them engaged.
"Slow burn" doesn't matter, if there's nothing to burn. The acting was lackluster. The script/writing was boring, and the editing wasn't great. The visuals are great.
As stated by another member here, it would have made much better sense to make that "special episode" the first episode.
The first episode is pretty bad. The acting is subpar and there was nothing holding my interest. The writing is lacking:
Tee: "If you want to blow out the candles, do you want to blow out my candles?" Smh. No sir, I do not. The only thing getting "blown" is my mind after realizing how hyped I was for this, based on the "Special Episode", and how disappointed I am.
I don't know how it is in the book, but while watching the series, this is one of the worst mafia plots ever.…
πππ It ain't Frances Ford Coppola or Martin Scorsese.
I agree with ALL of what you said. I've seen some fantastic Mafia movies, but they have bigger budgets, better actors...better direction..better storytelling.
KinnPorsche has raised the bar, which means the bar wasn't very high.
Everyone says that Tankhun is insane. But actually he is the most sane person in the whole major and minor family…
He's not "insane" at all. He's eccentric, funny, and over the top.
However, he's the most level headed and he has great insight into people - he reads people very well. When we need him to be serious, he switches "clown mode" off, and he brings clarity and decisiveness to a situation.
Why is everyone so salty about Big dying?I mean yeah he sacrificed himself in the end and he wasnβt the mole. This…
He did shitty things to Porsche, but that doesn't mean he deserved to die . Also, wasn't he in love with Kinn?
Plus, when Porsche first appeared on the scene, there was a tad of "newbie arrogance". Porsche comes out of nowhere, and ends up with a position he didn't really earn. So that created some bitterness - and Kinn didn't really handle that well. Porsche has matured, but when he first came on the scene? He was a mess.
But ultimately, Big took a bullet (several, actually) for Porsche , because the man he loved, loved Porsche. He more than covered his debt.
3 / KimChayI'm going to make enemies I think.I was never bothered by the age gap between Chay and Kim, (Kim never…
No need to say "I'm going to make enemies". Just say what you have to say. Lol.
Kim/Chay is not my thing, and age has a lot to do with it, though it's not all of it. Thai BL has a thing with grown looking/acting men in relationships with men who look and act like boys. That's creepy to me...to ME. I had a problem with it in Cutie Pie, but I watched, because Zee is my man. But I Iike my men to look like grown men. I understand that Thai men (and women) can look very young, and that's why the stylist needs to help "age" them with clothes and the right makeup.
Now let's talk about the characters. From what I understand, they were not major players in the book, so I don't see a need for them. Chay's "kidnapping" was disappointing. I was looking for Porsche to spend the night with his traumatized brother. But nope, he was in bed, riding Kinn. I get the need to be close to your man, but as a sister, who has a kid brother, I would have stayed with my brother, because he's my blood. My brother is sweet, like Chay.
But yeah, I would have preferred even less of them, for more of the other characters.
I love Jeff - he's delicious π and he has a beautiful voice, and Barcode is a bunny. But I don't like Kim as a character. He understands that Barcode is a kid, and uses his age and inexperience to get what he wants from him.
"He eventually falls in love with him!!!". Okay, but that wasn't the intent. He goes in fine with the idea of tossing him to the side, if there's nothing for him to be concerned about. Porchay is the one in Kim's face. Kim is the "coldest" of all the brothers, in my opinion. He's one of the reasons I thought Big was the mole. Kim knows how to smile, and toss his hair, and stare with those beautiful eyes, to disarm and delight, for his purposes. That's it.
For those who think Pete is "enjoying" in the scene, here is an interesting analysis which shows another point…
I don't really think the analysis is "interesting" in the sense that it's common for a "smile" to mean "Bring it on! You think you're going to destroy me, but I can take what you give!"
The only reason I accepted the "he likes it" perspective is because others who live on Twitter and keep track of all the cast comments may have seen something that indicates Pete has a torture/pain/humiliation kink.
However, I do think Pete is a little twisted. There's a "dark" side to him that recognizes Vegas' darkness.

I can tell I'll probably love the second couple more.
I just said I PERSONALLY prefer romances between adults, not teens and adults.

I'm going to watch now...

Kinn is my love. When I first saw him, I had to catch my breath...and I still havent caught all of it.
I visited Thailand, before discovering BL. When I go back, I'm looking for Mile - I'll be walking the streets, with a bullhorn, calling his name.
"We"? No no. π
