Yeah i just thought it was a very weak argument that their story has always been in the extra chapters anyway, not everyone read the novel or even plans to, some just want to watch and enjoy the show as it is so they expect a proper ending for LangTu as well, atleast one that feels complete and satisfying. We know they’re able to change some things from the novel to the show, why not a proper closure for them too.

I was just thinking... i know that LangTu's story were mostly told in the extra chapters of the novel but correct me if i'm wrong but didn't the novel (main story) officially end with SSY still pregnant and they were having their cute pregnant domestic life so then Peanuts birth and all their scenes together after were from the extra chapters as well? So i'm curious since they didn't really strictly follow the novels official ending and added some scenes from the extra chapters for HuaSheng why weren't they able to do the same for LangTu and squeeze in maybe a minute or 2 from their extras as well just to show their happy family of three. I'm not saying take screentime from the main couple, but whats 1-2 mins of added time in the ep just to give closure for LangTu as well right? 🥹

I just can’t get over the fact that we didn’t even properly see Lele’s face (with all the hype of him looking like his dad SWL, i wanted to confirm lol) and we weren’t even shown a scene of SWL acknowledging Lele 🥹 there wasn’t even a scene with all three of them in the same frame 🥲

They didn’t say. I imagine he’s rotting in a jail cell or being tortured by some loan sharks 🙃

Weeks before i predicted it. Some viewers thought that because they were together in the recording studio that they were talking to each other during that scene. My guess then was they dub the whole show all at once so even those scenes with other people were done/dubbed together.

Still can’t believe they added that line of SWL accusing GT, it wasn’t in the novel so why add it here? As if SWL doesn’t get enough hate for being stupid and slow they had to add that 🥲

Yes, i know what you mean since i’ve read the novel but again my point is for people that didn’t or don’t want to, their criticism is based on the show only, you can’t say “but it’s like that in the book” it doesn’t work like that. They’re criticising the show adaptation not the novel and if anything we saw that NJ were able to add or change some things from the novel so its totally valid to expect that they could’ve improved the second couples ending atleast.

If i remember correctly (correct me if im wrong) all the HuaSheng scene with Peanut towards the end were also from the extra chapters right? So whats stopping them from adding a few seconds of LangTu’s closure from the extra chapter in the show as well?

I also understand that the main couple are the priority here(i love them!) but then again they added the second couple in the story so ofcourse viewers would be invested and expect their story to also be told properly in the show.

I love love love this show but i think the argument that "this was how its like in the novel" is a bit weak. This is a show adaptation, it should stand alone without viewers needing to read the novel and having to use the source material as an excuse everytime theres complaints about the show. Some viewers complain on some aspect on the 2nd CP based purely from what they get from the show and if they feel their story isn't being told properly its valid because they're only watching the show not reading the novel. LangTu's story may not be written properly in the novel, doesn't mean they still have to follow it exactly. They have the liberty to improve on it and tell their story properly this time. Whether you read the novel or not, i think majority can agree that LangTu's ending was rushed and unsatisfying and as someone who's read the novel their ending here felt more disappointing than the novel.

And as someone who really loved the small changes they did and added halfway through for them, i don't really see why they can't do same atleast for their ending. Whats a few more seconds of the SWL and GT with Lele at home just bonding? Just so viewers can get a little bit of closure 🥹

Ocean is definitely the weakest actor out of the four, understandable since this is is his first acting gig so the whole cold poker faced CEO role was perfect for him as someone just starting out cos he doesn’t need to emote much and his stiffness doesn’t show much. But watching him during the whole show he could emote and convey feelings if directed properly, as seen from some scenes. So i kinda blame the directing here, sad cos i was looking forward to this scene from the novel. I was expecting more begging and crying and crazy 😅

At this point i just feel bad for SWL’s character, he was written so dumb in the novel and here its just bad scriptwriting. Atleast in the novel he didn’t accuse GaoTu like in the show, he was just speechless which in turn made GT assume the worse. It’s like viewers haven’t misunderstood and hated SWL enough they just had to add those lines for him 🥲 i love GT but damn its frustrating how bad they wrote SWL 😅

Yeah, fans have already accepted the screentime but its the lack of proper storytelling from last ep and now the rushed ending is what disappointed alot of fans. Saying even in the novel its like this is just wrong, their ending were atleast properly told in the novel unlike here.

My thoughts on the final ep so far:
I have almost no complaints with the main couple, they really covered their story well. There scenes were super sweet and cute, almost toothache inducing lol. I was disappointed though that they didn't include the scene of SSY being wheeled in the emergency room and HY was going crazy and just before SSY lost consciousness he saw HY finally cry. That was the very first time he was able to genuinely cry and i was hoping they'd include that, it would've been such a nice scene especially since they emphasized how HY can't cry this whole time.

On the second couple... first things first how did the dad even get GT's medical records? And what even happened to the dad in the end, i just wanna know he's rotting in jail or being tortured by some loansharks 😒
Honestly my expectation for them were already really low but i was still abit disappointed, i'm sure even non LangTu fans can agree that it was rushed. I already expected that they'll only get a hug but not even a dialogue after? Im sorry? I miss you? I love you? 🥲 even just a clip of GT and SWL with Lele finally together would've been enough for me after their reunion. Just a peek at their happy family of three(even without dialogue) cos whats an extra minute added right?😅there were definitely a lot of good material of their ending/domestic life from the novel that they could've included but chose not to, which was disappointing. Lele didn’t even get 15 secs of screentime 😅

I think this should've been divided into 2 episodes or maybe a 80minute episode atleast. I already expected this to be rushed but the editing wasn't really the best in the final episode, it was one scene after another. You're not given enough time to process and then jump to the next. I guess it might be because, as what some commenters said, it was supposed to be 24 ep but was cut so thats why.

Still, my love for this show and how it gripped me for the last 2 months is undeniable. The last ep might affect it a bit but im still biased and will give this a high rating just based on how much i enjoyed this overall and how much i've loved and discovered the actors. I'm still hopeful for a special, just to give some closure on the second couple and maybe a wedding for the main couple? I always wished they'd include a wedding here 🥹
